Can't achieve root w/4.13.51.4 RUU installed - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Been scouring the site here and can't seem to figure out where I've gone wrong...
I purchased an Evo 4G LTE and installed the 4.13.51.4 RUU (stock)
Unlocked the bootloader
Installed TWRP 2.6.1.0
Cannot seem to achieve root. Tried installing several different superuser.zips
The only one that will install without failure is SuperSU-v1.93.zip
No failure but also no root afterward
Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

You must use a custom built TWRP recovery found here:

Scroll to post #4 for the download.

Being that you're S-on, you will have to use the fastboot method to install the recovery. Then flash your SuperSU zip again. You do have the SuperSU app installed too, I hope.

That did it. I should have seen it - thanks!

I'm not really sure but seems there is no way unless if it's the original bootloader, plus this update is only for the mic so it won't fix back and home button. For me it's worthless.
hey guys i tried flashing the ota update via team win recovery and now im stuck at "Running bug_fix1 tool". its been at this for nearly 20 min idk what to do
Same here, it appears as if the update is intended to be used by the stock recovery only.

Is that compatible with the T-Mobile One? Because it's the recovery for the international version, correct?
why not just flash the 4.2 update and get all the fixes
can some post a nandroid of this in twrp, without anything deleted. just rooted,
before root would be better,

[Q] Re-Locking DNA for Warranty/Sale

OK, some background and disclaimers.
I searched as best as I could and read the FAQ and couldn't find anything that would help me--the relocker thread from 26 Nov 2012 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2017525) looked useful but too dated. So no flames please!
I bought this phone off a Verizon store manager in early June, who didn't mention that he had rooted it (or failed to return it to bone stock via re-locking it). Recently, it's been losing bluetooth connection to my car, losing the SIM Card connection, and failing to accept the OTA update (which is a daily, obnoxious occurrence). I checked with a VZW employee today and my phone is still under warranty, so I plan to send it in for replacement due to the former two problems.
Problem 1: Transferring a phone between accounts voids the warranty. Solved, as I won't say anything, and am mysteriously still under warranty.
Problem 2: Unlocking/rooting a phone voids the warranty. However, if I can manage to re-lock the phone, then all should be good.
I'm obviously a casual user and have zero idea how to re-lock the phone or even check if it's still rooted. Yes, I am a newbie.
What should I do?
Whenever I try to run the OTA, I am booted into ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.1.
Other relevant stuff:
Android 4.1.1
Software: 2.06.605.1 710RD
Please let me know what else you need to know.
Thank you!

Would you mind linking? I looked into development and all I found was an "S-Off" thread for returning to stock and the first one I already linked.

The s-off guide will do what you need for you. Just ignore the part about going back s-off if you are just trying relock

Ok. I'm doing my best to do it on my own without asking dumb questions, but the post I found (yours, actually-- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293919) says it's for Facepalm/JTAG/RevOne/Moonshine, which I assume are OSes. But my understanding isn't that my phone is flashed or rooted, just that it's unlocked and I have to get rid of the bootloader, which is the Clockwork Recovery mod.
I just tried this http://www.androidcentral.com/is-my-phone-rooted with ConnectBot and don't appear to be rooted.
All those names are s-off methods...
Just use my lock zip, ruu = profit

Thanks for your help. I had some trouble--mostly because I assume you wrote the guide for an average developer who already has all the SDK stuff installed on his computer, and I didn't. But I figured it out. Much appreciated!

no I am not sure what to flash. I jus went to the international thread and am lost. This is my first HTC root job. I guess I just need a step by step some where
You need to first get TWRP and fastboot flash recovery xXxX. Img. Look at the first page of that post though. I think it's pretty much a rough step by step. You need to get fastboot and adb installed on your computer first if u haven't done that already. Can't remember if they mentioned that

The file you need to flash for root is there but that original link was for if the root does not take. But you may want to install a root checker to confirm root.
after you flash recovery,i used the chairfire root zip instead of the one in the intl root thread, as that didn't work for me.
so flash recovery
flash chainfire's root
presto!
Thanks guys.. gonna try again tonight. I'll let you know .

Help rooting new HTC One M8

Okay so I unlocked my bootloader using the toolkit but I dont want to flash a custom recovery, I like the stock one. Is there anyway I can root it using the stock recover?
Probably not since most Roms need a custom recovery..twrp/philz..

Does anyone know if one would still get OTA updates from AT&T if rooted and unlocked?

Yes if you are on the stock rom with no deleted or modified system apps, however the update will most likely break root and could result in the inability to root in the future. Usually within days of an update, someone mods the new update and posts it in the dev forum for those who are unable to update, at least that was my experience on the S3.

yes, just boot into twrp, don't flash it.
fastboot boot twrp.img
you can flash supersu and never touch stock recovery
This is your second thread of the same question....I wrote a reply here:

This will get you what you need. One thread is usually good enough
Thanks everyone for the replies. I was somehow able to just push SuperSu onto my phone, no need go into fastboot or anything. After I unlocked the bootloader I restarted my phone and just clicked on Perm Root, it did its thing, I restarted one more time and boom SuperSu was there and root was verified with root checker.

Any Roms for h-boot 1.53?

Hi all. I just unlocked the bootloader and rooted my old evo 3d. The phone was freezing quite often so I though running a custom ROM might fix it. I have been unable to find a ROM for my h-boot. Are there any available or am I out of luck? Thanks.

You can try any ICS sense rom (Coolexe, YAS, ...).
Just be shure to have 4ext recovery installed with smartflash on.

Thank you Tom. I'll look into installing that recovery. I have twrp on both of my other htc's and find flashing Roms easy. This device is a little harder.

I just searched for 4ext recovery and found it in an apk file. Does it also come as an .IMG file that can be flashed through boot loader? I had installed twrp and I am stuck on a boot loop. I tried to restore but it will not. Thanks.

here you go (see attachment)
Thanks again. I did manage to find it, but have to re search to find the correct commands to flash it onto my SD and them install. I know the recovery commands. Will check when I get back home.

Thanks again tom. I managed to flash 4ext recovery and then coolexe ROM. Working good so far. Will have to check out some other Roms and mods. Cheers!
