Is there a way to view or administer the apps that are backed up by Google. Typically when I flash a different rom google will begin installing the backed-up apps. However there usually is a handful of apps that get installed that I had uninstalled some time in the past. Is there a way to view the backup list and make changes to it?

Hi Guys
I have a sg2
I'm a bit of a newbie forgive me i am coming from the dark apple side.
When you guys are flashing custom roms onto the phones e.g cyanogenmod
I assume your previous stock firmware stuff gets wiped
e.g. installed programs , settings, contacts, calenders . music & videos.
What do you guys do as a work around, how do u back things up and migrate your stuff across.
I'm not to concerned about programs & music files as those are a simple drag & drop from your pc, and copy & reinstall.
But what about Intricate settings e.g. alarm clock definitions, brightness , ringtone levels, wifi that sort of things
are they backed up & migrated when you change ROMS, do you use any special android software.
or do you just start again from scratch.
thanks in advance
harlzden
You can backup your settings and everything before installing another rom. Few apps for that. One i use is called titanium backup. you wipe / install a new rom, run titanium backup and restore all your data and settings.
Cheers Shabs
for the quick reply
does the backup also do those space hoggers e.g. Android App, Music files, Video files
or do you avoid these and backup these up manually,
reason i ask is samsung kies does a all in one backup , but its awfully slow !!!
works best just for the settings, space hoggers files must be unticked in kies to backup

As far as I know you can choose just to backup settings. You could also use something like MyBackup Pro which is what I used coming from the HTC Desire.
all android phones i've used, google backs up most everything for you. when you first start up the device, checkbox for backup to google servers is an option.
so when i start from scratch on a ROM, google restores my settings, wifi access points and password, wallpaper, all apps are restored from market free and paid, etc. the only thing not restored is call logs and texts, and of course specific app data.
for that stuff, most people use titanium backup.
Hello,
I am trying some ROMs here to have the best comparison and best choice exactly for me and to fit my needs and expectations ...
I stay on some ROMs for a while and install some of the applications. My question is now hot to make backups and restores the best wa possibles?
I have used programs like Titanium backup etc but I always have to install all programs again from Google Play and the restoring is very difficult when updating rom is needed very often and sometimes with full wipe.
So my question is how to do all this most comfortable, quick and best way possible step by step? I think man users appreciate this advices
Thank you.
The Application Backup tool in Astro File Manager has always been my method of choice. It backs up all the APKs to your sdcard so no more downloading from Google Play every time.

Nandroid and TB pro are what most use as as backup and restore .
TB restores all apps that you backup and you would only use Google Play afterwards to update apps that have been updated since your TB backup .
CWM Nandroid + TB over 500 roms tested and restored no problems for me .

Titanium just stucks on first restoring application on 0% and nothing is really restored when I tried only install from play and after I can restore app data not app+data together ... :-(
First run of TB on a new rom .
Open TB let it find and accept root .
Close TB reboot phone then use TB as normal .
Now 501 TB restores .

Retrieving previously purchased applications
Your application purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device. So, for example, if you remove 'My Favorite Game' to save memory, you can reinstall it at a later date with no charge by simply visiting My Apps. Note: free applications are not saved to My Apps after you remove them.
If you are being asked to purchase an application you have already purchased on Google Play on an existing or previous device, you might be using a different account than the one you were using at the time you made your purchase. Because the application is associated with a different Google Account, you are being charged to purchase it again. Additionally, if you are missing certain apps (free or paid), they might be registered under a different Google account. Fortunately, you can recover access to these apps by simply switching the account you’re currently signed into on Google Play.
The process to switch your account is dependant on the version of the Google Play Store app you’re currently using. You can find out which version of the Google Play Store app you’re using by going to Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > All, and selecting Play Store. The version is listed under the Play Store title. (On Android 2.1 or lower, you might need to select Menu > Filter > All to find the listing for the Google Play Store app)

I do not have any problems with installing apps from Googl Play I just wanted to restore them at once which is now possible thank you all for participating
A quick question about backing up and restoring play store apps. I have 2 devices, a phone and a tablet. When I set each one up it always asks if I want to backup my apps and and auto restore them when I wipe my device. If I have apps that I use on one device, will it restore them to the other device? I have some apps installed on the tablet that I don't want on the phone and visa versa. I have always unchecked this option when wiping my device. Also does it only insall the apps that you have installed? I have other apps that I have used in the past so they show up in my play account but I don't use.

Are you rooted? If so, you can get titanium backup and backup your apps from each device on your sd card for that device. You can also backup the data from an individual apps as well. This way, you have control of what apps get backed up.
Sent from TPR. The best there is!
I am rooted and I do use TB for my apps and data. I was just wondering how that worked with play store. Thanks for the suggestion though. I consider TB a necessity for anybody who is rooted.

I've tried helium and didn't like it. I've been told not to use titanium when flashing certain custom roms and I've even gone into the play store and meticulously deleted all the old apps that I've downloaded on my profile only to have google not restore them on my LG G2. (they were restored on my nexus 7)
It's just kind of a headache. So I find that after I flash the stock gapps, I only d/l a few apps that I NEED. Is there any hope of a permanent solution?
The backup I speak of is when first setting up a device or flashing a new rom. Android suggest on restoring a previous back along with the apps installed at the time. This is separate than HTC's restore during setup.
For example I just reflashed Lollipop on my M8 and during the initial setup after logging into my Google account I was prompted to restore from and old backup or setup as a new device. The backups listed where 30+ days old. After those options HTC gives me restore options saved on Google Drive or Dropbox.
I want to know if there is a way to delete Google's Backups from my account. The htc backups are easy to find in both cloud service except the individual ones that Google keeps.

Don't believe so. You just have to go through manually and remove the things you don't want like contacts and apps.
Just turn Google account sync off and you can delete your backups from their original sites such as pictures, contact and your files which saved on drive. But you couldn't delete the apps from your GP account.
