Try install antutu, you can see your phone spec in the system info.
Regarding the battery, imho,no software can determine real capacity, they only use interpolation from usage and prior setting.
Kernel and rom,are you rooted?
Be careful, don't mess them unless you know.
Kernel only can alter if you have source (unless you brave enough to build from scratch )
Rom,if you didn't touch it yet,it must be stock
What else, ram,it is normal not getting full 1gig,but it is not normal to reach 800mb in lean state.
Try to chack available ram soon after your phone started.
Normally arround 900ish
My suggest for you, china ohone is okay these days, but try to read/search prior order,so these question will get answered before you buy it
Enjoy

the problem is they won't answer to my mails
Bought it from android-sale.com
here is the device: android-sale.com/hdc-one-x-plus-android-phone.html
No replies... how unexpected... it's best to search some references before ordering on a random website... you wouldn't buy at a shady phone store, so why at a shady website?
As far as I see, there's not gonna be a refund. Guess you'll have to settle with what you have and save some money for a new one, or get a lawyer and go to court.

I Opened now a case in Paypal i hope it will help
i accept to replace to different device
what do you think? do you believe they will accept replace?
thanks for the help man!
Well, guess you'll never hear from them again. Their paypal account is probably empty, so cashback is not an option. I know people like that... if the paper trail is long enough, no one will follow it.
So, you made a bad call by buying this. Better luck next time!

Hey good News friends!
After couple mails that they didnt answer me i open a case in paypal and hocus pocus!
guess what, they sent me replay that they accepte for a refund or a replace,
so my question is if i decide to take another phone, it is possible to backup all the apps and contacts and restore it to diffrent device?
for exemple I make a backup of HTC and want to move it to Samsung, possible?
Depends on what you see as a backup. The APK can be backed up with free tools, for the rest you'll need root and a paid tool like rom toolbox pro.

Hi all,
I feel my phone just too laggy, even with good rom like JB or ICS.
My point is, the iphone is so smooth, sorry for the comparison, but i feel a bit disappointed because i thought my phone, with a dual core at 1.5ghz should beat my old iphone 3gs way too much. But now it seems i cannot even run two application that everything start lagging and the responsivness of the phone freeze.. It's just so annoying.. Don't tell me "then take the iphone" because i hate it, infact i bought an android after, i can;t change nothing pratically and they're way too much expensive..
So i read an article how the iphone works. When you are using an app all the resources are used by that app. The other processes and apps get ibernated. So, why android can't work that way, i thought. Is it possible to prioritize to the max the app i'm using right now and ibernate (or freeze, i think they mean the same) the others in the RAM until i switch to that app..
Is it possible?
P.S.
I've already read the article that explains why android will never be as smooth as the iphone, because the ios have a special dedicated process for the graphics so everything is rendered in real time.. i've also read that it's impossible for android because it's too late too change the way android works..
I'm noob on this so please be patient.. Thanks!

I am looking for a device mainly as a VOIP device. I can get a Galaxy samsung S for around 70-100 around here average from craigslist but was also considering a player 4.0 or 5.0 - problem is the 4.0s go for a little bit more (right now I have a guy willing sell me his mint one for $85). However, I've seen the 5.0 for around 120-150 refurbished or like new used and really like 5" screen. What would you guys do?

No one?!
Do you also want to use it in long trips or for GPS? If then the extra battery capacity from the galaxy player 5 suits the needs. Because honestly all of the following works perfectly well for a VOIP. Also if you are looking for development support from XDA you might consider the galaxy s. I would personally get the galaxy s because of the better custom roms and the capability of using a backup battery, which a player 5 cannot do

The Galaxy Player 4.0 is based on the Galaxy S1 so I'd go with the S1 because there are way more devs for it. Spec vs Spec the only thing in favor of the GP 4.0 is that it has duel stereo speakers and that's about it lol. The S1 has a much better screen and better camera. Now the 5.0 is a little different. It has of course the Screen Size, LED Flash, and a much bigger battery. Also it has a bit more devs, however it's screen is actually worse than the 4.0's and it uses a Yamaha DAC so it's sound quality isn't as nice as the GP4.0/S1 (whom use the same DAC). So like I said go for the S1 and be careful shopping on craiglist.
5.0 is worth it with reservations - old rom and no updates

hi
I've already bought a 5.0 from new and overall I'm reasonably impressed. It's a good vivid player with all the flexibility of Android to boot and a microSD card slot!.
I decided to purchase a separate music device rather than run my phone that way to avoid running my battery down...
However I would warn you that for the UK version that I bought, it seems to be stuck running Android 2.2.2 with no sign of an update any time this century. It's starting to be restrictive with regards to apps. Furthermore although some will tell you "just root it and update the rom"...I've yet to see a simple (for a noob) rooting process and set of roots that would at least match the stability of the stock version for the 5.0/4.0.
I've searched the fora and there's a lot of info to digest....
Did you try superoneclick?

Just some food for thought. I noticed that the Galaxy Player line is no longer available to buy, brand new, from Amazon (only third party sellers) and that Best Buy shows any of the players as "not available for shipping". I was curious what was going on and begin to find that it is possible the Galaxy Player line is being entirely discontinued. I hated to hear this, but think it is important to keep in mind as Dev support could become continuously smaller - it isn't large by any means at the moment.
If you are okay with the possibility of no support outside of forums, I would say to go for it. They are great devices as media players and even a type of 'wifi only' phone. Good luck with your decision!

Good choice you should be careful buying a used galaxy though. They are notorious for the power button breaking. There's a workaround however by installing an app where you can turn it on with a volume button.

They are still available on Amazon UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb...alaxy+player&rh=i:aps,k:samsung+galaxy+player
I looked up kies mini and it seems they are device specific, I've installed kies regular and it says I'm on the latest firmware already.
I know I could try updating to 2.3 with Odin, and from what I understand that would be to the stock 2.3.5 that the US 5.0 Wi-Fi comes with. This is how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EYjIyVXRGM
I just don't know if it might break something, is there a big improvement to updating to gingerbread? Like how is the performance?

uninstall Kies regular and try Kies mini. mini upgrades basically all the galaxy s products so it's safe to assume that it would work on the gp. plus it was mentioned by Samsung themselves in order to upgrade the galaxy players.
gingerbread is not exactly a huge improvement in terms of performance, but it gets way better app compatibility. for example you don't need to root your gp if you want to use the power button alternative if the button ever breaks. and it's a more appealing to the buyer's eyes.
um... that's all the differences I know of

I ended up getting a mint Droid X for $45 after flashing ICS I was really satisfied with it as it seemed just as fast as my old G2x (that I killed trying to fix - so many probs and bad battery life)... however while battery life was decent 6 hours screen time, I decided to try a GB rom and its at 49% after 10 hours of almost continuous usage.... the phone, while not as powerful as the latest dual cores or even the galaxy S is very smooth and fits my needs... highly recommend anyone who is in my shoes to check out used phones to use as a VOIP cuz there's really good devices/deals out there!

If you want stable look for custom roms that are based off of stock, like Chip v1.5. These ones provide mostly, if not, all the features that are available for the default rom and provide extra features. Check this out for more details. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720457
Hello. I am thinking about finally getting stock android experiance on my Galaxy s3 via CyanogenMod, since stable release will be released shortly. But there is something that is keeping me away from it.
Even though everyone thinks that TouchWiz is crap, it has 1 very very very good feature. That is "display mode". Basically you can choose between Dynamic, Standard, Natural and Film. I am using "Natural" all the time. Some people say that "natural" is too "washed out" but not for me. Pictures, videos, movies, everything looks better on "natural". At least for me. I honestly have no idea how can people use the phone on standard because it has just too much saturation. It is unreal. I tried watching movie on "Standard" and it was unwatchable. It almost hurt my eyes.
So, is there any program on play store or somewhere else, where I can set my screen on "Natural" when I start using CyanogenMod ? Otherwise, I guess im limited to rubbish TouchWiz :/
There's the same feature on CyanogenMod, don't be afraid, just backup rom and EFS and flash

I would like to bump my 1 month old thread to ask if this screen mode is present in the new Cyanogenmod version.
Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 Stable version for i9300 which came out on 23. of September. If anyone has this version installed, can they check display settings if there is an option? Otherwise, I wont flash CM. I cant use the device on "standard".
Bump again. Can anyone confirm this feature is present please? Some people say it isnt, this guy above says it is. I really dont know. Is noone using 10.1 stable version for i9300?

I just want to share what and why I did it. First off I did not have problems with my wifi on 4.2.2 with the Nexus10. the second that I went to Slim Kat and Vanir 4.4.2 I had weak wifi signal at work and at home when my nexus 7 slim kat and my galaxy note 2 Vanir did not. I noticed that RAM was also weird on the nexus 10. Even though it showed 2gb of ram on the specs it was only showing 1099 on 4.4.2 when I show that I have 1647 ram available with 4.2.2.
Concerning the OS using Ram. Google said that they would make Kit Kat more RAM friendly but I was using 535mb of RAM for 4.4.2 and right now I am showing only 357.3 mb for 4.2.2. I am using the same apps launchers and screen savers.
I just flashed back to 4.2.2 this morning so I will update later, I do see an improvement in the wifi though.
I just want to say that I love Slimkat and that is why I am on the 4.2.2 I just think Google somehow hosed up the wifi on the Nexus 10.
I have one question with all this. Is the wifi and Ram usage Kernel related?

I just want to say that I love Slim Kat and that is why I am on the 4.2.2 I just think Google somehow hosed up the wifi on the Nexus 10.
I have one question with all this. Is the wifi and Ram usage Kernel related?

B][/B] Ok so I am at work and have went back and forth between 4.4.2 and 4.2.2. the 4.4.2 connects and disconnects back and forth. When it does connect to router but it says poor connection and it is only 24mbps. "It drops way more than connected" I am 45 ft from router in an open environment.
The 4.2.2 Slim Kat has a fair connection with 78 Mbps and has not dropped once. So I don't know what the difference is with Kit Kat compared to Jelly Bean but for my nexus 10 my wifi is great now with Jelly Bean. I wish I could figure out why and fix but I do not know programming.
Have you tried to untick the "WiFi optimization" box in advanced WiFi settings? To me this seemed to improve the connectivity.

Yes I did do that and it just helped a little. I have been back on slimbean 4.2.2 for over a day now and my WiFi is great. Also I do not have any of the bugs that kit kat has . I have not had any fc or dropped WiFi. The tablet is perfect.

Hi,
If the 4.2.2 suits well your needs then there's no need to complain at all . I have no idea about the WiFi problem, sorry... I always use my WiFi close to the router, so I don't have problems. But I can explain you the RAM thing in KitKat.
Like you already know the Nexus 10 powers up a huge resolution display, and the graphics processor is not really able to keep up with it all alone, so Google allocated some of Nexus 10 RAM to the GPU. The update brings some new stuff, therefore requires more power and as such it will probably need more GPU power as well, and that's why you see less RAM. I will share here how I tested each update based on graphical performance:
I picked up an anime episode that I had in MKV, FullHD, FLAC audio, blah blah blah... In other words, very heavy stuff. Downloaded MX Player on both my S4 and my Nexus 10. Let's start the tests now:
First Test:
Both running 4.2.2 - The video was very laggy in both devices, in S4 it was completely unwatchable. On Nexus 10 you could watch it, but it was very unpleasant.
Second Test:
Both running 4.3 - The video got a little better on S4, you could watch it, but some parts were uncomfortable and really laggy. Nexus 10 got an amazing improvement (that's when Google started to allocate RAM to the GPU), you could watch it almost flawlessly, the only problem was skipping some parts and one particular scene.
Third Test:
My S4 broke, and now I'm with a Xperia Z1. Xperia Z1 and Nexus 10 running KitKat - Xperia Z1 performance was perfect, no lag at all, all scenes watchable and no problems rewind and fast forwarding the video, Snapdragon 800 has an amazing GPU indeed. Nexus 10, being one year older than Z1 with a older processor and way more pixels had a similar performance, was way better than on 4.3, the problem was with rewinding and fast forwarding, other than that was perfectly fine.

So, if you don't use your tablet for heavy videos and such, you can stay in older versions with no problems . I just think it is good to share this small experiment I did to clarify why your RAM "disappeared" suddenly on KitKat .

Thanks I can understand now why they use the ram. I want to be back on slimkat or any kat but not while the WiFi is so bad. I watch regular videos nothing heavy. I take my tablet everywhere and get free WiFi and I had problems with connecting to those places if they had a weak signal. Since going back to slimkat 4.2.2 I have had no issues.
I hope Google fixes this issue. I would like to be back with kitkat

Hey, so i've been checking solutions for days. I'm gonna assume you're still using 4.2.2 and still haven't found a solution for the WiFi issues of 4.4.2. I unfortunately updated my Nexus 10 without knowing the consequence. My symptoms seem worse than yours. Not only will my internet drop, but i can't ever get into the play store and youtube will only half-load its own pages and videos.
Anyways...what i need to know is your method for reverting back to 4.2.2. I've downloaded the IMG (.TGZ) file straight from google as i'm sure you have but i can't find how to flash the file onto the tablet without rooting the thing (which in turn voids your auto-updates with google (so i heard)). i found a video of a guy using a program called "wugfresh nexus toolkit" but a lot of people trust Odin to do this. I guess i just need the step-by-step process for this specific device using either of the programs.
Last question: why didn't you downgrade to 4.3 instead of going to 4.2.2. Was there a problem with that OS as well?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,
If I'm not wrong you can find how to restore stock on the Manta Help Thread! Please check there for further reference .
As for last question I don't know, you should try for yourself . As you said the symptoms in your case were worse, so what's better than checking for yourself other versions?

Would it be possible for you to send me a link to that thread please. I'm typing in manta in xda and coming up with various results but i'm looking for specifically the one you're referring to. I'm trying to get this done by the end of the night lol.
thanks

sorry to just get back to this thread. I am still using 4.2.2 I even went further and went totally stock so I can use the history channel app and brighthouse networks app. I use Wugs nexus kit and it walks you through all of it. Ever since I went back to 4.2.2 I have had no problems connecting to old wifi systems that my 10 could not connect to on 4.4.2. I am patiently waiting on the google fix for update 4.4.3

Excellent, thank you for your answer. That's what i was looking for. Flashed my new stock OS and it works like a charm! thank you very much!
I'm convinced the wifi issue will never be fixed.. Unless you're humping the router it's crap... Get down to 1-2bars of strength and its hit or miss if you'll get data throughput.. I've tried everything from changing wifi channels, switching only to WPA2 AES, disabling wifi optimization. It's just terrible still. This tablet has been a dud.. Between the ever changing RAM allocation to take more and more away from the user, the never fixed random reboots, and terrible Wifi... I'm probably never touching a Nexus tablet again.
I am using Nexus root tool kit. I download that program select the 4.4.2 as current program then selected the operating system that I wanted to go back to stock with. The link is :

I went back to 4.3 and it's much better than kit kat, IMO.
I updated to 4.4.2. but had Wi-Fi issues where it would show that I was connected to Wi-Fi but could not actually access the internet and the only way to fix it was to toggle airplane mode on and off. It could happen as much as once every 15 minutes. Went back to 4.3 and no problems. When 4.4.3 came out I hoped the bug would be fixed but it wasn't so I downgraded again. Again no problems. When 4.4.4 came out I tried it out but in addition to the Wi-Fi issues I had frequent hard freezes where the tablet was completely unresponsive and had to hold down the power button to turn it off. These updates keep getting worse and worse. Back on 4.3 and think I'll stay here for a while. Only issue I've had is slight screen flicker, but I just turn off auto brightness and that fixes the problem.

I have also went back to 4.2.2 for now. Device is just as responsive as 4.4 for me and battery life is much better.
I'm not going to lie...I accidentally flashed 4.2.2 and thought "wow this is a big improvement" thinking it was 4.4.2. The device is just so much more fluid. What are the barriers to the N10 responding like my N5?
Yeah I remember when I first got my N10 running 4.2, it was far faster, then 4.3 came and turned everything into ****, KK has been aan experience nearly as good as 4.2, save for the WiFi drops as they happen from time to time, I blamed it on my kernel as my sister's stock N10 doesn't exhibit these problems.
Anyways, I'm now running KK + ART + F2FS and lowered my resolution to 1200p as games have become more taxing and it's faster than ever before, battery could be improved but I blame that entirely on the screen.
