[Q] Converting pebble blue to sapphire black - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a pebble blue s3 and I never really liked the look of it.
I prefer the sapphire black but it wasn't available yet when I bought the phone.
Now my screen has died on me and has to be replaced.
Can I use a Black LCD display touch screen digitizer +frame as a replacement on my pebble blue phone?
I see no problem in doing so but I hope anyone can confirm this before I order it.
Thanks in advance

Yes you can use the black.
It's exactly the same.
Good luck.

it will be a ***** to unglue your screen from your black (i guess it is black) current housing w/o breaking it. you need a special oven to do so. like the one that service centers have. so in my opinion do not do it.
Just wondring if you did this yet?? Im looking at doing the same. I did it with my original SGS and it wasn't difficult. Love to hear how you got on

[Q] Am I buying a blue or a black S3?

A local electronics store have called me confirming that they have a Pebble Blue S3 for sale that they have saved for me (I pre-ordered), and I can pick it up today. However, I am not sure if it is the blackish one seen in the german video (as seen in another thread) or if it is more blue, as seen on the ads. I asked over the phone, and apparently the box they have is blue, whereas the one in the video is more black.
What do you guys think?
The reason for why I am asking is that I think the one in the video looks much better, so I am considering whether the two colours are different altogether.
Since the shop only received 5 units of the the Pebble Blue, I'm thinking that maybe these are remainders of the initial batch but that actually passed inspections?
I live in Dubai if that matters, and the store is to be trusted.
i don't think there is any other colour of blue its just the lighting in that video i have held a pebble blue phone and in different lights it looks darker.
It's blue...but it depends on the light source...
If it's pebble blue it is not the grayish one. The grayish one is being called metallic blue.

Green tint on the S3?

Hi there folks! So over the years I have picked up some samsung devices like the note and S2, and I have had a problem with green tint on both. When watching an image containing a lot of whites or black, you see a strong green layer on the screen. Is this issue getting any better with the S3, or was I just unlucky on my devices? I am looking for a new cell phone, and would love to get an S3 but I don't know what to expect of the screen. If I get a S3 with a green tinted screen, is that enough to ask for a replacement?

Ink Problem with S3 Pebble Blue

Hi there.
I think most of you know the problem with the "peeling" of the ink of the grey bezzel that surrounds the screen of any S3 that usually comes off.
What I would like to know is...has anyone found a good and solid solution?
I have a "almost perfect" Pebble Blue S3, if not considering the bezzel and would like to do something that would not make me change the screen.

[Q] Does alpha black looks grey-ish?

Hi guys,
I am considering to buy the galaxy alpha. I was looking for the black version, but when i saw it at a store (showmodel) it looked a bit grey-ish. Perhaps it was a worn out model. But i searched google images for the color and its in between, some photos look pure black others grey. Can anyone with a black version confirm this ?
Also can anyone with the extended battery pack tell how long it will last on full battery cycle (screen on time)?
Btw, I am developping with slimroms team, first thing I'll do when i get this phone is alpha slim 5.1.1.r2
Get the sleek Silver color, it looks the best.
True, Alphas balck is called charcoal black and indeed it looks more like charcoal Definitely its not dark black color.
