insurance: evo 4g lte to one x? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I think I read here several months ago people were able via insurance (Asurion) to get a One X replacement for their dead/dying evo 4g lte, but my search hand had failed me.
is this(still) the case?
are former E4L users digging the one x?
any other thoughts?
thanks...

Do you mean the HTC ONE or the One X? It can't be the latter as Sprint does not have the One X in their network of phones.

Assuming you mean HTC One, alas that "deal" is gone. I've gotten my EVO replaced 3 times in the last month because Sprint keeps on giving me bad EVOs. I tried to have them give me another refurb phone, but they won't do it. Now my current EVO does not have working bluetooth and apparently I've reached the maximum number of times you can get a replacement with TEP so I'm stuck with this even though it's completely their fault.
Sorry about that rant, but I've looked at the phones they will replace the EVO with and they are: LG Viper, Motorola Photon, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus. The only decent phone is the Galaxy Nexus, but that too is aging.

how many of us EVO 3d owners were gonna switch to the phones in the title, im gsm and lte wont be hitting the uk (like the evo 3d wasnt)
UNTIL ICS WAS LEAKED
and then changed there mind, deciding, the EVO still has life left in the old baby yet
I'll still be upgrading

I'll be pre ordering the LTE for sure. I upgrade once a year no matter what.

honestly the best way to use an upgrade is on a iPhone (if you like them), because sprint devices drop value after 2-3 months you could pick one up used for contract price from craigslist

That's not a bad idea. Get the iPhone for contract price. Sell it for way more. Buy a used Evo LTE. Then keep the profit.

I'm still going to preorder the LTE but if Newt gets his Rom running 100percent I may keep my 3d

HTC has announced that the One X won't be unlockable on AT&T. If they don't allow unlocking on Sprint, how will that affect your decision? I'm sure a dev or three will eventually find a hole and give us a root method, but I'm sure it won't be easy and may be a good bit of a wait.
Yes that's a good point. If it cannot be unlocked, I'll keep my 3d.
Method1911 3D
I'll be ordering mine in 20 hours 18 mins and 15 seconds
HTC really shot themselves in the foot, not that im complaining
Still getting the EVO LTE the EVO 3d is good and has life but its missing something what idk

the evo 3d is still good, not the best phone possible obviously but more than "good enough" with this update, I dont think that I will upgrade at least for six months more, probably next year.
my money now will go toward a new tablet instead of a new phone.
ICS is nice but the New Camera, Kickstand, S4 Krait, 16GB, HD Voice, LTE, NFC and Sense 4.0 with the new EVO is really tempting.
If anything, ICS/Sense 3.6 made my 3D go up in value.
I'm going to need a Sprint leak or final before I actually sell though. Can't roam with the current VM leak.

I think Agrabren mentioned something about finding an exploit in the S4 chip and stated that REVOLUTIONARY will only support qualcom chips. We should be in good shape with or without HTC's unlock, though I doubt Sprint will restrict unlocking.
Think I'm going to wait for the s3 i love sense but I'm tired of HTC the so called flagship phones come out with a bang then in 3 months or less they are forgotten look at the 3d and rezound

The OneX is unlockable even on AT&T. HTC announced they understood that customers were very upset that they could not unlock their devices and decided to make all new phones since the 3d, unlockable. As far as sense3.6, I'm not that excited about it. Sense 4.0 is still way much better. I'm going to get the OneX when it comes to sprint in June. But the name is going to be changed, adding it to the evo family. I hear its suppose to be the best evo yet, even topping the Evo4g LTE. I'm excited.

When the OneX joins Sprints Evo family, its said to have removeable SD unlike AT&T version. As for the removeable battery, I'm sure there is a way, there is ALWAYS a way.

EVO 3D HTC Finally Messed up !!!!!!

Ok so ill start from the begining i had problems getting my extended battery to work and i took it to sprint and they claimed it had been the battery which i know it wasnt so he diagnossed it and broke my charging port and framed me for it. so i called htc corperate and got my phone sent in and repaired for free of charge i get it back 1 week later and try to activate it and it fails i take it to three diffrent stores and finally one calls sprint and they determin its a gsm mobo in the phone so what htc did was replaced the motherboard with a gsm one therefore declining my possibility to get the phone activated so i call htc and they claim its a serious deal that ive been without my phone for two weeks and its broken upon arrival.
so what the Rma escalation center ron cosman is trying to do is send an email to corperate and the repair centre to get them to do an advanced exchange to get my phone replaced with an overnighted delivery on the replacement phone.
Seriously why would htc Do this if they know its an cdma,
lol faill
and as a reimbursment for the time being which was them fiddling with my phone for 1 week there gonna send me a free white htc evo 3d battery door
Doh. Silly HTC. Someone didn't check / think.

I heard someone got an upgrade from Desire to Desire S once from a HTC repair. Shame you didn't land yourself a new phone... Could be there are no comparable 3D phones...

After all that, I'd be demanding an EVO 4G LTE.
Yea, that makes my phone/replacement debacle seem not as bad. A battery cover isn't much for compensation though.

How would i go about demanding an htc evo lte

Has anyone dealt with Asurion Insurance and talked them into a different phone?

I broke my phone today and was wondering if anyone has ever called them and was able to talk them into giving you a replacement phone, other than the one you have? Currently I have the Galaxy Nexus and I wanted to switch over to the 4G LTE, it's the same price and currently is the same exact deductible.
I was just wondering if anyone has been able to pursuade them into replacing your phone with a different phone?
Any advice or help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
I've only ever heard of them doing so when they ran out of stock

my GF was upgraded from a Evo 4G to a evo 3D when they ran out of 4G stock, but when my cousin tried to do the same thing they had 4G back in. I dont know why her situation was different

As people send their phone in to get fixed or sell it back when they upgrade, stock gets replenished. Simple as that.

Sending phone in for fix up. Need help.

Hey,
Well my phones digitizer is failing and is very sensitive. If I press hard enough it'll make some dead pixels. The screen is also out of place on the phone. The top right corner of the screen is inside of the frame. If I send my phone in will it give me my EVO back or a newer phone like everyone was talking about in that on thread?
Would they care if its S-off? And rooted?

Sprint its a $100 deductible.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
The issue of the phone being rooted and S-off seems to vary. I've seen some people mention that Sprint didn't care, while others mentioned having issues getting Sprint to fix or replace devices based on the fact that it's rooted. As far as whether or not you'll get your phone back or get another EVO LTE, I'm not sure how that works. When my wife had her S2 the power button went bad and I took it to Sprint, who replaced it with another S2.
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Probably replaced with an EVO LTE as they still have em in stock and you can even still purchase one for free with a contract. I suggest taking it in to Sprint first before doing the Asurion deductible. Sometimes they replace free of charge. Ps deductible is actually $150, I had to get one myself a while back..

[Q] [POLL] Since many of us have now reached upgrade eligibility, what are you going

I'm asking because a post in the EVO LTE group I'm in on Facebook, a user said he went to a Sprint store and they told him he HAD to trade in his EVO to receive the discount. So I'm curious, are you 1) Trading in for minimal credit? 2) Keeping your EVO for a backup? 3) Selling it yourself or somewhere else? Or 4) Giving it to a friend or family member? I hope to get a number of responses so I may prove to the group member that no one is being forced to trade in. Thanks for your participation.

Keeping my evo for development purposes and to see how long I can make it till it bricks.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I already sold mine on eBay for four times the buyback credit amount. However, I still have one that has a bad ESN that I use for a WiFi device. It's S-off (facepalm), running the firewater hboot (2.10.5555) and I flash ROMs like a maniac.

I would most likely keep mines for a backup. Plus I'm gonna wait for the price to go down and there's more development for it.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Since I'm switching to Verizon, I'll be keeping it for a wifi device.
I've been eligible for an upgrade since last November. Just been waiting for a worthy upgrade. My girl had the one and ahhhhh it's alright. Nothing really to write home about. My friend has had within the last 3-4 months the one, s4, and the nexus 5. He really likes the nexus 5. Almost persuaded me to get it; but, I really think I'm going to wait for the LG g3 and keep this phone for a back up.

I've been eligible for an upgrade since last month, but I don't think anything out there is worth spending it on right now. Probably going to hold on to the Evo until the LG G3/Nexus 6/Moto X2 launch, then upgrade. And I'll hold onto the Evo at that point as a wifi device and media player for biking/running.
Haven't read much about the nexus 6, just maybe. You never know!

Yah know, I have two lines under the Everything Data 450 plan, with an extra 300 minutes tacked-on from a promotion they had awhile ago. I have the Evo LTE, my gf has the OG Evo. She is happy with her's, I am somewhat happy with mine. We're both due for an upgrade. I never upgraded to the One due to lack of SD card expansion. So, the new One has it. But, with all of the development of this phone going on, I'm almost hesitant to upgrade. Phone runs great on Viper's rom, so idk . . .
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
If I don't mind the another two years of contract, I would just upgrade to the new One (M8) then sell it on ebay, and keep using EVO LTE. For my daily tasks on my phone, I don't see the need of a faster phone then EVO LTE.
