Which phone?
Do a nandroid and reflash stock rom/kernel. (Even if you are on stock)

Replace your battery.
Problem solved.Just fully charged my battery and it's ok now
You can even add some build.prop & init.d tweaks in your phone to improve battery backup as you are rooted. And you can also try any custom roms which have better ui & also better battery backup & even good performance compared to stock roms...

Hello everyone,
From yesterday i started facing a strange issue due to which i am experiencing serious battery draining issues.
My battery started draining 1-2% every 5 min in idle mode after i played a game named crazy fist . next day i factory resetted my phone. In idle now it is not consuming any power but when i do some work on my phone , it consumes alot of battery and it.drins like 1% every 2-2.5 min.
Charging time is normal. But discharge is pretty fast.
So i checked thr battery usage inside settings.and noticed that my display is consuming about 41% of the battery and android os arnd 13%. I am not sure qbout os usage but thr diaplay is consuming too much power. I think initially it used to consume 13-20(max)%.
Or is the usage correct? I am using sgs2 stock midel and have no intentions to root it.
Kindly assist and reply asap. Thanks in.advance,
Siddhanth
the display on the galaxy s2 does drain alot of battery if your using it for quite a while..thats what they call screen on time..my battery was draining fast and i panicked... when you do use your phone how long do you use it? say do you use to browse like for a good hour non stop?
if you was rooted i could of gave you some options but here is a link to help you read and give you some tips on battery life...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1234264
charge your phone fully and drain it without switching it off..charge it again without taking it off charger i say leave it for a good few hours...do the same thing for a few charging cycles and see what the battery like is after that..but check the link
But this strange thing happened to me aftrr 1month.
I wss never rooted.
I mean this is the first time my display is consuming 59-61% of the overall battery. is this normal and does it hsppen to u too?

i thought the same as you buddy. never realised it in the start when i had my s2 but then checking the battery usage and i panicked...its normal for the display to drain the battery alot..
change your brightness to auto and there is an option in settings and display where you can tick to have the display autoadjusted. thats for brightness..
or do what i do and have your brightness on the lowest settings and see how it goes from there...fully charge your battery let it say for 6 hours then let it drain till it dies down without any breaks and then charge it again to the max..do the same thing for a few times and check whats the battery after a few days...

when calibrated your phone you leave it on of course and charge it without any interuptions...when you let it drain with out any breaks like switching it on and off, once it dies down then plug to charge it.....it will charge and it will give you the battery icon...once its fully charged you can see by the battery when its fully green switch your phone and your good to go...

I have a stock rom. and i dont want to change the rom before my warranty period gets over.

Hey guys,
I have been running unnamed rom lately, but on any other rom including stock. My battery lasts for like 8 hours with little use and 4 hours with moderate use. When I see what is draining my battery it looks normal as the display uses the most, but I only have it at 30% brightness most of the time I have insurance should I see if I can get a new battery? Or any other tips?
Can you post a pic of your battery usage?
Have you tried to calibrate the battery yet?

Many things could cause battery drainage, such as oc-ing. You could find the original Samsung battery on eBay for a cheap price. Before buying one, try doing the following:
Clear OC/UV settings (i.e. put to defaults)
Download Battery Calibration by NeMa (on the Play Market)
Charge your phone and wait until it reaches 100%*
Tap on "Battery Calibration" and done
Once calibrated, use your phone as you normally would until the battery dies. Only when it dies you can charge it. You can charge as you please from then on.
Note: If it does not reach up to 100%, go to CWM and clear battery stats.

The usual applies - look in battery statistics, use BetterBatteryStats to hunt wakelocks.

THIS DOES NOTHING ON ANY SAMSUNG GALAXY S DEVICE!
never tried the battery calibration?... does it actually work or no?
have you installed any new apps recently? those apps that use a lot of apps in the background are a pest to your battery life as they usually won't show up in the battery monitor. try disabling your data when not in use and see if that helps. if the current rom you are on does not have a toggle bar with data use the "data enabler widget" by Farproc.
Hello guys I'm having a battery leak but i dont know which app/s is draining my battery i go to battery status and i only see
Phone idle 55%
Display 20%
Voice calls 11%

Flipboard 2%
not sure if these stats help!
... but im sure that some background apps draining it , any idea how to discover the leak and deal with it ? i dont use 2g/3g gprs , Bluetooth or anything like that only wifi and not for a long time I'm running 2.3.4 un-rooted atrix4g with go launcher please help and thanks for your time
Have you checked another battery? I think that's an hardware problem dude =/

OK. I think the battery life of your phone is shorted or it's broken but you can also try "BateryBetterStats" to see what process are draining more battery on your phone.
Task killers are not recommended on most on cases to use in Android SO.
Guys i was on like 20% battery today and i restarted my device to found that im back to 50% !! how come ?
Edit: turning off background data wont make so much difference

You surely need to calibrate your battery . There are many third party apps also which help in saving and maintaining battery such as go power manager , battery saver pro , juice defender and more . Try them .

Try cycling your battery (fully drain then fully charge several times) and if you're rooted try calibrating it using an app from the Play store.

I had the same issue and its not the phone it is the rom version 4.2.2
I believe even s4 users are reporting the same.
My advice till google fix this is to disable sync when it is not needed as it looks like google service is the reason for this issue
Alternatively, try to install wakelock detector from google play. Look into cpu wakelocks and see what is occuping much time.

Hi, I agree your point in terms of UI. But are you getting a good battery life, as i have been reading so many posts on battery drain after lollipop 5.1.1 and .232 and i facing too. But some guys like you are having great battery life even in this 5.1.1 also. Is there any solution to it? I had 86% left on my phone and the power management was showing 16 hrs remaining and so i did a factory reset which someone advised and now the battery was showing like 1 day 15 hrs when the battery was in 71% . But however only the remaining time has changed and not the actual draining issue is fixed. Still battery drains a lot. Would doing a phone repair through PC companion help? RIght now the battery is 43% with estimated time remaining as 15 hrs displayed .. SOT is 1hr 25 mins and watsapp has used 19% of the battery with radio service on as 2h 42 mins. Also the whole night the drop was about 11% with 3G data on.
Please help me find a solution.

You don't need to do a factory reset to make stamina time left to fix. First disable stamina mod. Then Simply delete data of Stamina mod from settings/app/all apps/stamina mod and reboot. After boot enable Stamina mod again.

Actually i didnt enable the stamina mode, all i mentioned above was normal mode. Inorder to get a good battery life, do I have to keep the stamina mode on always? Because some people have great battery life without any power saving options. Also I Had great battery in Kitkat. Any solution? Thanks..
You dont need Stamina untill your phone goes at 15 percent aproximatlly
I donr use stamina at all.
If you are using mobile data much that explains cause you cant get much sot.
