A few months ago I install a ROM called ROM-V4.0 Xperia Z in a ST15i of my girlfriend but she wanted KitKat, so I downloaded 2 ROM (Carbon, VanirAOSP) but none worked, for some reason I do not know why recovery tells me the phone model is not correct.
I tried to install from a clean ROM .587 (tft, root, xparts, cwm) but still does not work.
message: "This package is for ST15i, ST15a, smultron devices; this is a anzu"
I want to know if someone else has happened, or if anyone knows how to solve this problem
I share the message that throws the recovery
If anyone can help me I would be very grateful

thanks for your reply
no, I just went into CWM via xparts (in stock), in the ROM threads do not mention any kernel, I think I will read in more detail.
or should I read another thread where explain the kernel should I use?

There is a Q&A thread, please post your question there, or in the cm10 thread.
That aside I googled it anf found this:
"If you are trying to flash a new ROM in CWM recovery and you get a failure due to a (Status: 7) error, the reason is because you are either trying to flash the wrong ROM (ie: GSM Version of the ROM) or MOST LIKELY you have installed the GSM CWM Recovery on your CDMA phone.
CWM will check to make sure that in the update.zip will be named correctly to either toro or the GSM version, if the other version is there, it will flag it and not flash.
Hope I was able to help!"
Maybe is your ray ST18a and not ST18i? Or you downloaded a wrong rom?

This is what I do when I get a status 7 error. It works every time
1. Flash stock ftf file using flashtool
2. Boot once
3. Flash CM10 kernel using fastboot or flashtool.
4. Do full wipe
5. Install ROM from zip.

Have you unlocked your bootloader? I suspect not. This is what flashtools is referencing.
Custom roms and mods that work on stock kernels can be installed on rooted devices.
Some mods/roms make such significant changes to Sony's builds that a new kernel is required (MIUI, CM, AOKP). To install a custom kernel you need to unlock your bootloader.
You may read the instructions provided by the author of the rom., to flash kernels, you need to unlock your bootloader. Seek and you'll see.
Is that right? lol

Now you’ve flashed one ROM on the Ray I can’t see you stopping
It doesn’t matter what WE recommend because your experience of which is the best ROM may be different to ours.
Try them all – I usually change mine once a month. But in my humble opinion, the most cutting edge, fully featured, experimental yet suitable for daily use ROM is PAC. My little Ray runs smoother than my wife’s Galaxy S2 and has so much more swagger – to borrow from AOKP.
so you recommend PAC rom ? actullay i want to stay with my stock based smooth (ASOP) ROM. if you know something then pls recommend me
Hi all, thanks and sorry if I am too noob. I am looking for solution for 2 hours and I cant find, maybe anyone can help me
I have Sola MT27i and I was trying to update to ICS and root my Xperia Sola for hours. I updated with Sony Companion and then I found the thread for root with Flashtool mode (flash to 6.1.1.B.1.10 with Flashtool, root using Bin4ry's method, then flash to 6.1.1.B.1.54), then I instaled CWM and I was trying now install a rom. It seems easy, and I did it last summer in my Geeksphone, but after various errors installing roms copied in externalSD as "installation aborted. Status: 7" I did the step 4 of this tutorial (enter in mounts and format system)and my Sola now only show SONY!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960590
"IF COMING FROM SOME OTHER ROM, make factory wipe then go into mounts/storage and format system (not needed if updating AOKP)"
I have tried all I find and I cant restore. I cant enter in CWM, I am flashing with MT27i_relock_bootloader.ftf and Flashtool and phone only show SONY after flash...
Please help

Dude ! The ftf's in the first link are only the kernel. You just installed a CM9 ROM over a stock kernel, which would explain why it had bootloop ( in your case stuck at Sony ).
Did you flash the CWM in the ROM ( the boot.img in the zip ) or one of the others on the forum? Because those are built on Stock kernel, and this uses CM9 kernel, causing bootloops ( This is just me trying to zero in on the issue )
Solution:
Since that 1st thread had only kernel, the files were ~10Mb. The actual ftf is much larger, around 300 Mb or so, as it contains all files.
Flash one of the other 2 links' ftf's via flashtool and you should be fine.

So i know that there are a lot of posts on XDA itself about this issue but i couldn't find a single one that i saw useful for me!
I recently had re-locked my bootloader and came back on stock ICS with root!
Earlier i had flashed almost all CM ROMs including the newest CM 10.1.
Today i unlocked the bootloader and tried to flash FXP CM10 and got this error! Tried with boot.img included with the zip, as well as Lupus v7. Both gave me same errors!
Please help me guys!
Sincerely,
Ishan

Flashed it and the tried the ROM zip
But same issue :crying:
I advise you not re-lock & unlock you bootloader many times(maybe cause you have that problem), once unlocked let it stay unlocked. BTW try to flash a stock kernel & rom & then again a cm or cm based kernel & rom. Good luck.

Did that 3 times! Also this is the second time i unlocked my BL. I guess that's not the problem as i just flashed CM10.1 and it's working without a problem!
extract boot file of your rom and flash it with fastboot
Just open the Updater Script inside your ROM zip and then delete the first three lines something with getprop blablabla , always working for me

But there's no difference between WT19a and WT19i. I guess the a version is for a specific land (I don't know which) and i is the universal

Man, just edit the updater-script and delete the first 3 lines saying getprop. Then repack the zip and flash it. Should work
And btw could it be you wiped system? Because you shouldn't do that and if you do it, you will get the getprop error

Try installing again with the original zip and don't wipe system or you pack the modified zip again using 7zip and try to flash it
