I am very much intrested in Android Modding and theme development. I am working a a Theme that can change whole interface of a phone. but editing png's is not enough. I need to port some applications in order to have a more better mod. Can somebody help to teach me android app porting. Im sure with only a few instructions I can learn it easily. If you want to help me kindly reply here or PM me. Please I need your help.
Thanks in advance.
its really easy to port apps all you need it a good tool like this;
Click here to see how you can port apps
you don't have to know any programming whatsoever even a noob can use it.
thanks will try and tell. So can I port all third party apps using that? The thread says small knowledge of SDK, smali etc is required. But im totally a noob.
Greetings!
Well, is how the title says. I want to start making my own systems apps. For instance, I want to start developing a camera apk for my GS3 but the problem is that I don't know how to do it. I don't know how to open those internals files like xml files(they do not open correctly with a note app), .rsa files, .mf files, .sf files, .dex files, .arsc files and the list continues. How to compile and discompile apks or flashable files...
All of this is because I want to star my own proyect, and through this way, to enter the android developing community of the GS3!
If anyone could help me to accomplish this I would be VERY grateful! If theres a guide (I tried to look for one but my research did not throw any result) that would be better!
Hope you could understand me because English is not my main language, but hey, I'm learning
Thank You SO MUCH for YOUR TIME!
Personally I think you should start to learn the programming and code from your toaster, but hey - if you want to damage your S3 - it is your free will (I hope)
OK, let's go to the matter, first. Assessing your coding skills based on your questions, I decided that you should start your learning from this.
Furthermore, to be more presice against your questions, if you would become literate expert in above linked knowledge, feel free to use
this as a small sample.
If it made you curious, why not try for even more interesting news?

Well, I am now trying to do my best. I think I can manage myself with the info I found...
Hello boys and girls. Ive been following this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2131391 so i finally got this all synced up. Now im starting to build...problem is: when i imput this code: mv platform_manifest/kernel_manifest.xml ../.repo/local_manifest.xml It returns this error: mv: cannot stat `platform_manifest/kernel_manifest.xml': No such file or directory. There is such a file, kernel_manifest.xml. PLEASE what am I doing wrong? I have successfully built before...mind u it was CM7 and it was about a year ago, and all I was doing was following steps like with this thread. SOmeone please help me out here. I promise to be a major contributor/maintainer if someone will have me...lol.. if I could just get it done once Ill be off and running.
I know our devs are very busy guys and dont sometimes enjoy helping out kinda noobs like myself...but i assure whoever can help, that your time and help will not go unrewared. I just wanna finally be able to do this...been trying for weeks....was so happy when I saw this thread..just need a lil push in the right direction.
Hi guys,
Searched all over the place, maybe I'm just not using the right terminology.
I'm modding some CM stuff in framework/base/core, which means framework.jar has to be built.
If I use:
Code:
dopush mmm frameworks/base/ -j32
ART(?) needs to optimize all the apps again.
This makes developing excruciatingly slow.
Does anyone know of a way to bypass this? A nudge in the right direction is also greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Daan
(Also posted this on the cyanogenmod forums, but thought I'd extend the reach a bit : ) )
Hi
I am new (like totally new) I haven't done any phone programming before and I haven't done any computer programming for years (yes I am 46, but I am a techno junky). I like the themes on the Samsung Themes Store, but I would like to make my own and use them. I have looked at how to make Icons etc, but I would like to know how to get them onto my phone without using another Launcher. I have looked into Samsung Developers, but being a beginner I don't have any designs and I wouldn't know where to start.
I also tried following a thread '[GUIDE] Make your own Themes for your Samsung device' by mygalaxya, but I couldn't find where to download the Java JDK & Android SDK. The link takes me to Android Studio which I have already downloaded.
Would someone be so kind as to help me, from the beginning? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
P.S. I'm not stupid just need some guidance
