which ROM
for a 8GB P780, which is the latest rom?
I tried SLX ROM for Lenovo P780 and Samsung Canvas HD for Lenovo.
Both have some pros and cons.
Whats your experience?
Thanks!

Stock ROM updated to ROW-S222.
Yes it is rooted.
Really it seams that stock rom gives high performance than miui.
Please post other members also share with us your benchmark results of your modified p780 smartphone.
Really interested to increase my benchmark result.

What's your Quadrant/Antutu score?

Thought it'd be interesting to see what kind of performance everyone is getting with their players. Also if someone has a vastly higher score maybe we can figure out which tweaks make the largest difference.
There's a lot of different configurations out there by now and putting a numerical value to it seems like a cool idea! My score is derived from the 'full benchmark' in both quadrant and Antutu.
For those that don't have the apps, here are some market links!
Antutu Benchmark - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5hbnR1dHUuQUJlbmNoTWFyayJd
Quadrant Standard Edition - https://play.google.com/store/apps/...mFzb2Z0d29ya3MucXVhZHJhbnQudWkuc3RhbmRhcmQiXQ..
Make sure to close all running apps while benchmarking. Changing your CPU governor to "performance" will also give you a better score and take the CPU governing out of the benchmark equation.
If you reply, please include the following answers -
What player do you have? 4.0/5.0/other?
Are you running gingerbread or ICS - what ROM?
What kernel?
What are you overclocked to?
What filesystem? EXT4/RFS/other
What's your best score? Antutu/quadrant
Mine is -

Also what I notice is when set device to GT-I9100 I then have higher gpy scores.. 100 more but lower cpy scores because it stays on 1200 mhz..I guess it has something to do with tegrac overclock.

I just retested mine setting the CPU governor to performance and it vastly improved my scores. I have my on-demand governor set to be super responsive but I guess it doesn't jive with the benchmarking too well. It improved one of my scores by almost 1000 points though
Thanks to everyone who's replied so far! Looks like everyone for the most part is at least in the same ballpark.
Also added market links for people who don't have the apps yet. :good:

I will vary from day to day, but on a good day I can get over 2800 on Quadrant. I just ran Antutu with it plugged into my pc, and I got 3724. I will add a breakdown of each score below.
Kernel:Terrasilent V1.3.5
Filesystem: EXT4 with a LOT of extra mount options
Rom: EtherealRom V2.2 (as yet to be released)
OC: 1.5GHZ with smartassV2 (stable, but with insane overvolting)
I/O governor: VR
Antutu: 3724
CPU:1153
GPU:1440
RAM:502
I/O:628
Quadrant (randomly run): 2773
CPU:2021
Mem:1692
I/O:7315
2D:467
3D:2368
NOTE: my player has been a little wonky due to last-minute bugs, and I am probably getting a lower score than I should.
Help!
Ok, now how the hell do you guys score such high points on your Quadrant?!
I am currently running getting about 1,400 to 1,500 on my SGP 5.0.
Specs:
OS: 2.3.5 Gingerbread (Original ROM so far)
Kernel: 2.6.35.7 (Original Kernel)
Overclock: Tegrak Overclock to 1.5ghz
256MB RAM Swapper
Seeder lag reduction on "Moderate" mode.
I/O: Deadline.
All the rest remains untouched.
My detailed scores:
CPU: 2,043
Mem: 1,654
I/O: 913
2D: 467
3D: 2,098
Can anyone give me a light here?
When I was runny icy fusion I got about 2000 in quadrant. When I was running ethereal I got 2200 @ 1.0ghz and 2536 @ 1.2ghz

The scoring is different for each benchmarker. Also antutu changed their scoring this year as well.

oh okay
on CM 10.1 last alpha build (1000 mhz) quadrant showed me only 1153
oh no! what now?
tbh it is the smoothest and best performing rom and kernel out of there. Games work better than on 1,5ghz 2.xx.x kernel
It is just a bench

Hey everyone. I want to start this thread to discuss our quadrant benchmark results. Firstly name your total score, what rom u r using, what kernel, your cpu governer, the cpu max and min frequencies and any other mods or scripts used.
SCORE: 1640
ROM: ICS Sunday Final by Judasa
Kernel: Ketut kumajayas kernel.
CPU GOVERNER: Smartass
CPU FREQUENCIES: Min.122 Max.864
SCRIPTS: Slaidfast mod v3 and turbo boost 8.5.

The quadrant score doesnt really mean anything...The score never comes exactly the same the next time you check...you can get a little up or down the mark of you previous scores depending how your devices is performing at the moment...

[Q] BEST CPU FREQU. For lww?

I have a lww unlock bt and root with mesa kernel v 1.9 on official ics .578.
I want to know what is the best.(min~max)governor & I/O SCHEDULER To set with antutu cpu master for best performance and save battery?

As a matter of fact u cannot get best performance & battery life together. But with Mesa ur battery life is better compare to other kernel. So u can try performance, smartass v2,interactiveX as CPU governors for performance with "sio" i/o scheduler. Don't push ur phone to hard with max cpu freq. I would suggest ~1200
349 ~ 1024

For good battery use... Min 134~ Max 864.... Conservati or Interectiv.... IO Deadline........ For performance use 346 ~ 1400 SmathV2 and sio IO
Isn't that harmfull for phone below of 1017 ?
And interwall beetwin max and min have any important?

[Q] SamHD v3.2

Hi Guys,
I am new to XDA forums and android, so kindly apologise me for starting a new thread,
recently i flashed my a116 to sam HD v3.2, It works great but one thing which bugs me is the amount of RAM usage, after flashing the ROM i am using(installed) only half the apps compared while using my Stock ROM but the ram usage is always i the range of 700 - 800 MB. In my stock ROM i have never crossed 650 MB.
Is this a problem or anything i am missing????
can anyone suggest me what other ROM best suits a116.
Download Smart Ram Booster and set it to aggressive. press boost multiple times amd clean cache. Then rebpot
Sent from my Micromax A116 using xda app-developers app
higher ram consumption compared to stock because of the touchwiz and lot of bloatwares in samsung rom.u cant do anything about that!!

Having just had a quick read of the thread you linked, there are mixed reviews, and it's debatable whether it works for 4.4+ anyway. The only obvious way to boost performance the way you describe is to install a custom kernel and play with the settings such as over-clocking, and governor and i/o scheduler. As always this is a performance vs battery life scenario. I think the gains you will get with these build.prop mods will be slight at best
