Hi all
My wife is considering to root her phone, but she does not want to root it, unless it is possible to unroot so it can be sent in for warranty porpuses...
So is it just to unroot it, and sent it in for warranty??
Kind regards

Yup you can unroot it and claim the warranty. However warranty would be void if you unlock the bootloader..

You can unroot using repair option in pc companion or you can unroot using this script
Just reflash stock rom in flashtools and root is gone
This is my first post and I apologize in advance if this is posted and I've accidentally overlooked it.
I recently rooted my phone and flashed some roms on it but now I need it to be completely stock (I have my note unlocked to family mobile *a T-Mobile subsidiary * ) is there a way to wipe all ive ever done and restore it to original stock ics 4.0.4? Without having it relock on me? Will it relock if I use Odin?

Carrier unlocking is permanent.
Alright peeps, I need some direction!
I paid full retail for my wife's Note 2 for Christmas, rooted & unlocked bootloader Christmas day. I made a boo-boo and tripped the Custom Binary counter at that time, no big deal. I returned to stock at that time and left her device alone.
Sunday she noticed horrible battery drain. It turns out that the CDMA portion of her radio is not working. LTE is fine. After doing a factory reset etc it still does not work correctly.
Verizon is sending her a replacement via the 1 year warranty she has on the phone. My concern is that because this is a factory warranty the Binary count may be a big deal as it still shows a count of 1.
Does anyone know if Chainfire's Triangle-away app works after the new update? From what I have read, it requires an unlocked bootloader to reset the count but it does not state which bootloader it works for.
Here is what I THINK needs to happen, if it works at all...
1. I need to unlock the bootloader & root using Adam's new method.
2. I need to use Chainfire's Triangle-away app to reset the status (If it works)
3. ?? I need to return to stock Bootloader & firmware somehow ??
4. Profit (hopefully)
Will this work guys?
How to I return to stock after using Adam's new exploit?
Thanks for all the help in advance!
If it got the ota you can never restore the old bootloader. The new bootloader blacklists the original one. Sorry that's all I can answer. Good luck

Do steps 1 and 2 then Odin the stock VRLJB firmware. Then let it take the ota again. You will now have a counter of zero and be on stock VRLL4.

I will let you know how it turned out.

Sure does. People say it soft bricks you, but if you're about to Odin to stock anyways so cares

It worked guys. My only concern was Triangle-Away not working on the new bootloader but it was not an issue!
Thanks for giving me the much needed nudge to move forward.

It booted right back up into android with no problem for me. I got a soft brick when attempting to use it on a locked bootloader.
Interesting... Good to know. Not sure if I'll need it but again nice to know it works.

Hey guys- I am still on stock rom, just rooted and flashed custom dialpad..How would Mrskips toolkit allow me to " reset ' flash counter w/o losing root or undoing simple mods( dialpad, debloated ). And if Not- how would triangle away work- without risk of Bricking? Still have warranty ( bought phone 2 weeks ago ) Please help and elaborate ( other options or risks) where possible!..Thanks!!
Hi,
If I unroot an unlocked GS3 (Aus) (Optus). Would it be locked to Optus once again? Just curious. My phone is lagging these days I have no choice but to unroot and reflash again =(.
Shouldn't do. Depends how you unlocked it though.
Did you read the freezing thread in general?

I rooted my phone and flash omega v46.1 rom. Got into boot loop. I read a few threads. Everyone who experience this problem end up reflashing back to stock to fix it. I have restore from nandroid several times. Didnt work. I even tried switching into a different rom. It also freeze.
I tried to check for an update on custom ROM and got the ur device is modded and can't get updates. As expected but I also get the same message when I restore to stock rooted. Will I need to unroot to receive the update. Never had a problem accepting an update b4. Lost root of course but that's it. Anybody wanna chime in? Thanx in advance.

What I do is Odin back to stock... Data wipe... Flash through Odin a second time... Data wipe again... And you should be able to accept updates again :sly:

You can get OTA updates when your phone reports back, in Odin mode, with "Official" for both Samsung and Status
in short you will need to revert to stock ROM and recovery and wipe it 2-3 times like @FLBoy1991 said
Is the KitKat OTA out yet?
