Unroot Xperia Ray for warranty porpuses - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi all
My wife is considering to root her phone, but she does not want to root it, unless it is possible to unroot so it can be sent in for warranty porpuses...
So is it just to unroot it, and sent it in for warranty??
Kind regards

Yup you can unroot it and claim the warranty. However warranty would be void if you unlock the bootloader..

You can unroot using repair option in pc companion or you can unroot using this script

Just reflash stock rom in flashtools and root is gone

If I'm not mistaken the only way to void the warranty is by installing new custom kernels which means you'll have to unlock the bootloader. There are many roms out there with the stock kernel.
the warranty won't be loose
if you root your phone you won't loose your warranty, but if you open the bootloader then yes.

first rooting your phone will not void your warranty, as @faiyyaz said it brings you the possibility of installing custom roms. like minicm 7-2.0.x or ginger dx.
Second opening the bootloader is used to install custom kernels with this you can install minicm7-2.1.1 rom that is more stable. note: this will void the warranty
third you can re-lock the bootloader for warranty purposes here is a complete guide that explains how to un-lock an re-relock you're phone, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 there you'll find more information about the warranty.
Therefore, if you doesn't want to void the warranty there is no problem to root you're phone and install a custom rom that doesn't requiere to open the bootloader!!

[Q] SE xperia Pro rooting

I got a SE xperia pro mk16i..Does my warranty gets void if i root it??
And how to root it??
No Bro uer warranty will not void if you root with locked bootloader
I actually think that rooting voids your warranty, and as for the rooting procedure, there's probably a guide on the forum

Rooting MAY void your warranty. But there are ways to "unroot" so that you can send your phone back for warranty without being caught. As for how to root, different phones have different ways to root. I would recommend going to your specific device's forum and ask, or you can try gingerbreak.

What is the easiest way to root Xperia sola

What is the easiest way to root Xperia sola without unlocking the bootloader because I dont want to lose my warranty
Thanks...
There is no way to root Xperia Sola Gingerbread based ROM without unlocking the bootloader. Don't worry, you can relock the bootloader if you want by flashing again. Another way is first upgrade to ICS firmware via PC companion and then root it. I heard, ICS firmware support rooting without unlocking the bootloader
what android version are you on?
First of all, if u want to root ur phone easily, u should update to ics.
Once updated to ics, u can root ur phone easily using binary's root
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
If ur new to this u can also follow the video he uploaded to know how it should be done:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7EpkrCq1gfM
Enjoy
This rooting method seems quite easy to do, but considering that after it with SU rights it is possible to modify and delete the system files, what about the warranty even with the bootloader locked?

As far as i know, it should not remove the warranty.. and even if it does, u can always unroot the phone as easily as u root it so it shudnt be a problem
But with root I could also delete some important system files that could cause the complete lock of the phone: so, how could it be possible to unroot in this case?

[Q] How to root Sola without unlocking bootloader?

Is is possible to root Sola without unlocking bootloader like the 2010-11 Xperia phones? I've installed Flashtool v0.9.6.0. It does support Sola but the rooting fails. I've the "Auto Connect in MSC" option enabled, but the rooting process still fails.
Following is the log from Flashtool. Need help.

Warranty is void when you do something irreversible. Rooting is usually reversible. Unlocking bootloader is generally irreversible. For our phones, I'm not sure if unlocking bootloader is permanent or not. But rooted Sola can mostly be unrooted. I've rooted my phone without much thought btw.
why not you try this

Are you running the stock ROM for your device? If you are there's nothing else you need to do, other then if your returning the device I would perform a factory reset to remove your personal information. If you aren't running the stock ROM I would re-flash the stock ROM to your device if your planning on returning the device for warranty or repair reasons.
