Hi there.
STAR 8000 (MyAudio 5) broken, dysfunctional touch panel software fish definitely got me.
Ordered to N8000 touchpad while I tested some ROMs.
There was one which worked, but slightly wrong color (purple) in the image.
Came the touch, I put, it went perfectly.
I tested a few ROMs, now the color has been good, because I managed to find out which type of LCD's in it, but the touch interestingly it works: it's like and would reflect the length of the touch halved.
So, from the top downwards finger scroll halfway down, half of the top.
The Menu and Back buttons do not work, Home work.
In vain I packed back in front of the ruins, we do not go. W
I suffered a lot already and it did not find any meaningful information about what should be done occasionally.
Touch screen chip : FT5306..
He met someone like already?
Can any one help?

Same happened with a Galaxy Ace touchscreen I replaced (I own a phone repair shop). I changed it 3 times before understanding why it was behaving like that. There could be 4 options.
1) chinese replacement do not always work as expected
2) the chip/sensor has been unmagnetised (can happen with everything, a magnet or even the phone antenna)
3) there is some dirty between the LCD and the touchscreen
4) the replacement is not exactly the one you need
The galaxy Ace model I had to replace was S5830i but the chinese replacement was for the S5830 (sold as working for the S5830i too)

I know, exactly what happened to me. Then it started working by itself.

I recently bought myself a brand new S2 NFC I9100P.
I played with it the whole weekend and I found the touchscreen to be unresponsive to light touches/taps. Many times I have to tap twice or longer to open apps, make selections etc...I tried both the stock launcher and custom launchers, same thing.
I was not charging the phone while using it, I heard about the unresponsiveness when connected to a power source but this is not the case (well I have not tried yet).
I do not have this problem on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 or my previous phone, a HTC Desire S.
Did I get a defective unit? I am thinking about a replacement since it does not feel right to me. Anyone has experienced anything like this?
The phone is on Android 4.0.4 stock firmware (with Orange bloatware).
I have a I9100 and my unit reacts as expected. But I can't tell if your problem is due to hardware software failure.

same here on 2 units bought in Lithuania. One is running CM10.1 nightly and another - stock. both are having responsiveness issues. I thought the touch panel was c.....
Screen protectors make touch panel less responsive to small touches.
Bought genuine touch unit replacement in Lithuania. No issues on any rom here, very responsive
Hi boys,
yeasterday I changed digitizer on my Xperia PRO mk16i, which was broken, but still fully functional.
Now I have problem with this new - in the middle of LCD it´s don´t read my touchs. In the top and bottom of LCD is situation better - it is almost functional.
I found some recalibration functions, but it´s no possible via standard phone menu. So I tested change firmware with Flash tool. I tested A 2.3.4 and 4.0, but everything is bad - I cannot found any calibration function. (When I bought my phone, first thing which I must do was calibration).
Please, can you help me? What I must need for run calibration process?
Many thanks,
Petr
Wow, I've never heard about touch calibration on capacitive devices. I'm pretty sure your new digitizer is defective. Happens to the best of us hehe.
I have similar problem with this guy. Middle of the screen doesn't read my touch, I'm using mini pro. My case I hold my phone with wet hands, then the day after, it happens. Flashed to stock didn't help. It seems your digitizer is defective as said. Take the phone to where you changed the digitizer and ask for warranty.

Hello
I have problems with the phone, I thought it was for the last flashing ROM LiquidSmooth, but even after the factory setting and load a new ROM problem remains the same.
At the bottom of the screen, about 1.5 cm from the bottom edge of the phone detects bad touch, which will be reflected in writing when you press "L" activity to side letters either left or right, if I'm somewhere in the menu item is placed in the bottom of the screen do not respond . So far, it solves turning the phone 90 or 180 degrees.
It would be a repair is not possible or advantageous to buy another phone?
Thanks for your response

It's pretty common issue. The only way to fix it It's by replacing digitizer.
It's a faulty digitizer problem.
I have my evo 3d for 2.5 years. After a year, my screen started messing around, I took the phone to the repair shop, the guys there replaced the digitizer and it works like a charm ever since (which is about 1.5 years later).
So, just find a good repair shop. and don't worry.
Hey guys, a friend of mine give me his moto e cause he had soft bricked it. Reading through the forum I could reinstall the firmware (4.4.4 latam) and now it's working fine, but there are 5 spot in a vertical line that doesn't register my touches, these spots are aligned in the middle of the screen, one is at the y position of the keyboard, and the others are separated 1cm each other (1 is under the y and the other 3 are above). Could this be a software related problem or I just have to replace the touchscreen? (I've tried factory reset two times but I've not reflashed the firm again) thanks in advance and sorry about my English.
First take a try with Screen tester app die playstore, and change rom once, if didn't helped, you can replace screen assembly at low cost on local markets.
Well, i've reflashed the stock 4.4.4 firmware and it's still the same, i guess i'll have to replace the touchscreen. I dont know how the touchscreen works in this phone but it's a little strange that certain isolated areas in the middle of the screen doesnt work..

I had the exact same problem. I had 4 such huge spots on the left side of the screen where touch didn't work. ROM reflashes don't help. Yeah it's really strange. First I thought it might be cuz of water spilled over the screen but later on found out that the display assembly is completely sealed and water can't get in. Yeah it's really strange how display suddenly stopped working that way..even touches of local phones don't get magically spoiled like this, dunno what's up with moto. I got it replaced from local market for 1300. I would say the quality of the display, touch, brightness, contrast, everything is same as that of the original display. The only thing I suspect is that the glass is not gorilla I guess.

In short: Bought a used Tab S6 and the screen recognize my fingers flawlessly, but it won't recognize my Spen
Things I've tried already:
Going into settings and changing stuff, did nothing
Factory reset, nothing
Try another spen, nothing
Try the spen on other Samsung devices, works like a charm with both writing and button usage
It is to note that the screen is kinda badly glued into the device so maybe they changed the screen and didn't connect the ribbons correctly? Or the screen they installed just doesn't work with the spen?
Searching online I came to a post which suggested using the menu from *#2663#, I dialed those numbers and all the Wacom text says as following:
FW Version of WACOM IC: Not Supported
FW Version in Kernel Image: Not Supported
Tuning Version of WACOM IC: Not Supported
I believe this is at fault from being unable to use the Pen? There's two buttons down that text, only one is clickable, "Wacom FW Update (Kernel Binary)" when pressed says it's updating and must not be turned off, but it remained in that state for over an hour with nothing happening, the device turned off and nothing changed
Returning the tablet is not an option so I would like to know if I can fix this or just accept that it will not work with the spen
Solution 1: Clean the screen.
Solution 2: Reset touchscreen calibration.
Solution 3: Install the latest updates.
Solution 4: Two button shutdown (Surface Pro only)

J Wick

I believe this is for Wacom tablets on Windows devices? My problem is on a Samsung Tablet Tab S6, which runs Android and uses Wacom tech for it's Spen
accept the fact that the tablet will work without sp3n. they cut the flat. it happened to me with a note 4
same as your problem but on tab s7, have you found any solution?
I couldn't, sorry, ended up gifting the tablet and getting a S7 FE. Kinda miss the Oled screen and the extra powerful processor. The S7 FE lags heavily with HD content at 60fps on YouTube lol
What I could find though was a menu you accessed via the phone dialer on the tablet, you know, those secret config settings? There was an option to reboot the Wacom controller. It didn't work for me but it may for you. I don't remember what was the code to put on the dialer tho, you'll have to search for it
Edit: lol I put that code in my original comment
My tablet was bought used and the screen was badly glued to the frame, so my hypothesis was that the previous owner replaced the screen and 1. Didn't properly attach the Wacom connector 2. The screen they used couldn't be used with the Wacom digitizer
Hope this is some help to you
