An App that Disguises Numbers During Calls? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there an app that lets you call a any number disguised by another number? For example, lets say I call 232-555-5555. And instead of showing that number on the caller's caller ID, the number 764-333-3333 shows up. I know the iPhone has an app like this that uses wifi to place this type of call. Is there an android app like this?

[Q] Known number in txt

Remember time used winmobile, I have a tweak to replace known telephone number in txt by its contact. For example when using miss call alert service, the operator might send notification txt such as "you have missed call from +xxx" if xxx in your phonebook, it will be replaced by "you have missed call from Mr. A (+xxx)" etc. That is convenient as you need not to remember / call that number to know who called you. Do we have this on android, particular Atrix 4G?

[Q] Question about whatsapp?

Suppose i have multiple phone no.s in a contact with all of them having whatsapp. And if i send talk to that contact on whatsapp will the messages go to all numbers?
I had someone else's no. under my friends name in my contacts, that no. also has whatsapp, so when i was talking to my friend was the message going to that no. as well?
No. Although the multiple numbers may appear together in your phone's contacts, each number appears separately in whatsapp. Suppose if a contact has 2 numbers, his name would be listed twice in whatsapp contact list, each for a different number. Usually this is in the same order as it appears in your phone's contacts. If you send a message to one number, it goes to only that number and not to all numbers under the same name

Owh. Ok. I understand what you mean. It does open up the entire list of numbers for that contact but the messages are sent to only the first number listed there. Suppose, your friend Jack has two numbers +1 and +2, both with whatsapp. If you click on one number and it shows:
Jack
Mobile +1
Mobile +2
the message will be sent only to the +1 number. On the other hand if you click the other number, it will then show:
Jack
Mobile +2
Mobile +1
the message will be sent only to the +2 number.
They aren't sent to all the numbers. I'm sure of that

When it opens the contact details within whatsapp, a phone icon and whatsapp icon [latter depends on that number having whatsapp] are next to the numbers. If you tap the number or the phone icon, it will take you to the dialer screen or keypad of your phone, like you're calling him/her. If you click the whatsapp icon, it will take you to the chat within whatsapp.
Does that clear your doubt? If it doesn't, post a screenshot of the problem.

I have a contact number that can not be in list of select contact, even I changed phone number with a + sign, followed by the country code or not.
The other phone numbers is normal that shown in whatsapp select contact (automatically) except that number.
My number and that number are already installed whatsapp.
What can I do?

[Q] I'd like 'Default' phone numbers to appear first?

Hello Members
Does anyone know, or has noticed that even if I pick a contacts mobile number and make it the 'default' in the phones address/contacts book, if then go to type an SMS message entering the persons name in the 'To: ' it still won't pick the 'default' number in it's listings first, but choose the landline number of the contact as first number in the drop down.
It's important if you want to use an app for Sending SMS messages on the new Smartwatch 2, as doing so will send the message to the landline number.
Any ideas please.
Kind regards

A quick fix would be to split it and create 2 contacts one for the mobile and one for the landline. Not ideal but its a workaround.

[Q] Blocking a Caller ID Faker?

Someone I know is having an issue with someone calling/harassing her and using a Caller ID Faker app so she doesn't know the number its coming from, or setting it to a number of her co-workers or someone important that she should answer. Is there an app, or away to block someone from using something like this to contact her? Is there something that will force her phone to show the correct incoming number? Or a way for her to block calls that are being used from one of these Caller ID Faker apps. I'm thinking that since the the change in the incoming number is happening from the outgoing phone call that there isn't a way. But there are a lot of ppl here that are smarter then me on this topic so I'm hoping for some help.
Thanks

No App To Block Calls Missing Caller ID Name?

All the Call Blocking Apps I could find seem to only have the ability to block all calls that the number isn't in your contacts list. I would assume (but maybe not) you can create an app that has access to not only read the phone number of the caller but if there is a matching caller ID name. If that were the case, I am perplexed why none of these apps have a feature to block all calls not in contact list *AND* Caller ID Name is blank or has no letters (in case the function returns the phone number) I know many apps keep a black list database but the problem is, many of the Robo Caller farms don't have all their numbers listed in the black list -- they are constantly changing their blocks of numbers they use -- but virtually none of them return a caller ID name. - you just see a phone number. And note, I am not talking about calls marked "Private", most apps block those.
Is this really not techincally possible or are most of these call blocking app developers overlooking this useful feature?

I think technically they can, but the problems with that are if what happen if someone who just got your phone number call you. All any other services that want to call you in case of an emergency.
i have my note8 setup to send any number not in my contscts to voicemail using Call control. by turning on dnd mode in settings my whitelist and my contacts are aloud .
