Hello Members
Does anyone know, or has noticed that even if I pick a contacts mobile number and make it the 'default' in the phones address/contacts book, if then go to type an SMS message entering the persons name in the 'To: ' it still won't pick the 'default' number in it's listings first, but choose the landline number of the contact as first number in the drop down.
It's important if you want to use an app for Sending SMS messages on the new Smartwatch 2, as doing so will send the message to the landline number.
Any ideas please.
Kind regards

A quick fix would be to split it and create 2 contacts one for the mobile and one for the landline. Not ideal but its a workaround.

Can somebody tell me how can I enter two mobile phone number for one person in Contact ? Because I want to chosee one to send a SMS to him but I only can enter one . If I type the number in other field, I cannot get it from the Send list when I try to send SMS . It's a very interesting problem. Anyway, I can enter two in my Outlook . But I lost after Sync-
Thx

You can try to type the phone number in email2 or 3 field.
You can try to type the phone number in email2 or 3 field.
Have you tried the "car phone" field? It seems that should allow you to send SMS.
I tried and failed!
I add a new mobile phone number in Car phone but I failed to find it in SMS list. So it seems I have to create a same name entry in Contact list and separate to save different mobile phone number
Thx for your advise
Li
Then put it in one of the mail fields. It will show all three e-mail fields in the SMS send list.
you can try to add mobile2 field, in outlook,
sencronize, and see if it adds the tab in your mobile.
Heres the issue: I have both my mobile number and google voice number on my vibrant. I receive text messages on both numbers. However, unless I use the dedicated GV app to respond to text messages, it sends a return text using my TMO number.
Now, this normally wouldnt be a problem, but I use my GV number for business and dont really like the idea that my TMO number is getting out to people. Is there any way to set the phone to send the return text using the same number it was received by without having to use separate messaging applications?
I think I came across an article on lifehacker.com that discussed how to send sms messages from your phone and make it appear like they came from your GV number. The catch was that you had to store each contact's 4 or 5 digit GV code and use that. I don't recall the details, but if you are interested search their site and you will probably find the article.

I am having a problem on Android that I can't figure out. I use the RingCentral service for my home phone, unrelated to my Android phone.
When a caller leaves a voicemail for me at RingCentral, I receive a SMS message on my Android phone. The RingCentral SMS is sent from [email protected] where the X's are the phone number of the caller.
The X phone number matches a phone number for a friend in my Android contacts. However, the [email protected] is no where in the contact record for that person.
My SMS app is empty. No retained messages. Whenever I get a direct SMS from that contact, it now shows as being from [email protected] rather than that person's contact record name: First Name, Last Name. This is annoying because I use Tasker to read the name of the SMS sender. Instead of reading the name, it reads me all of the numbers at ringcentral dot com.
It seems this has to be related to a cache or something, but can't figure it out. Any ideas?
Hi
when using my sms app, I am looking for a way to display which phone number of my contact is used (mobile, work, home, ...)
The only thing showed is the contact name and his phone number.
With all the sms apps I've tried (stock, hangouts, hello sms, 8sms, evolvesms, chomp, handcent), I didn't find a way to display this information. I always have to do an extra action (clik on contact photo, or title bar) to check if the phone number concerned is 'work' or 'mobile'.
Does someone know a tip or a new app to show this info ?
Thanks!
if anybody has an idea of a workaround to display the phone number type in the sms app (stock or any other), I would be very grateful.
I must not be the only one who needs to see in the sms app thread if i am writing to the mobile or work phone number of a contact ...
A simple question: if a contact saved in the phonebook has more mobile numbers, if I wanted to send the same text message to both numbers, how should I do? Because the phone allows me, yes, to add several recipients but it does not allow me to select all the different numbers of a contact. Only a number, unfortunately, how to do?
