I've been researching for 5 hours now how to try and ROOT my Phone using Z4 Root 1.3 (also tried 1.1) it results in basically the program just timing out. Ive followed the directions in the video (below). I then saw some people had some success with SuperOneClick. It seems to work for a bit, but the phone doesn't ultimately root. The code below is what results. Ive done my best to try and install the android SDK and ADB. but some of it is over my head so i might be missing something. The instructions on the ADB installation seem out of date though as the images and directions don't fully match. So thats a problem as well.
Phone : AT&T Samsung Galaxy S SGH 1897 on Froyo 2.2.
USB Debugging is enabled. Ive tried Airplane Mode, disabling Lookout. any and everything to help the process.
Im new to this. Im doing my best to figure it out. But admittedly im a noob at this. To anyone that can even point me in the right direction. The ROOT force is not strong with *this guy*
If nothing else thanks for reading.

I think he is talking about for locked bootloader
If someone can provide me with a /system/ pull of the latest build, I can take a look at it.

open a shell in your computer:
Code:
adb devices
## (we check if the device is being seen)
adb remount
## remount the /system partition as rw so we can copy it
adb pull /system <destination path>

When doing the remount I get the following:
remount failed: Operation not permitted
I was still able to pull the system though.

I really want to root my device, so someone please help me do it!
Hello,
Please be sure that you have USB Debugging enabled; you need it to root using superoneclick. Also, I haven't been on stock for ages, but as I recall, there was a way to change the USB connection settings. I think it's under Settings > Network > USB settings. Something like that. As I recall, there was a "Mass Storage" option, and two others (I think one was "Media Player" or something). Change those around and see what happens.

Did you extract SuperOneClick and all of the rest of the files or just run it from the zip?
And please use code tags.

I think I found the problem, my antivirus automatically deleted this file and identified it as a hacktool. Is this nessecary for the rooting process?

Tell the anti virus that it isn't a virus and then use it.

Yes. Your antivirus thought it was a security exploit, because it is. You're just using it in a good way.

any help
thanks in advance
Hey guys!
Well, I purchased this phone called Multilaser Orion P3181 here in Brazil days ago, and I've been trying to root it. I tried several times using different tools but I just can't. Are you able to help me?
I searched a lot before starting a thread and I found ways to root Android 2.3.7 but I couldn't get it done. I want to root it mainly because I can't install too many apps since its storage memory is really bad, and I'd also like to take screenshots.
Here's the log when I tried to root it with SuperOneClick v2.3.3
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *

I've tried all these ways and I've followed thedevilashish's tutorial but still didn't get to root my phone. I read in a brazilian site that I should use Unlockroot but I should click on the unroot button first before trying to root it. But Unlockroot simply can't regognize my phone, I don't know why. Maybe it's because my PC is Windows 8.1 but I'm pretty sure all the drivers are installed since all the programs can find my phone.
Any more solutions? I'm losing my hopes over here Thank you all for trying to help me, anyways!
