Umm...Should I install Google Apps? - HTC Desire V

You Know that.
HTC t328w in China didn't install Google Serive and Other Google Apps.
⊙_⊙
If I want to use Google Sync of Chrome Browser,I must install Google Serive!
But I know if I install them, maybe my phone's memory will reduce the running!
What should i choose…

Because Chinese set up Baidu Apps or similar. You can try to install trimmed gapps & safe more memory.

I mean tiny ICS Gapps (or slim Gapps, small Gapps), with removed Google talk, voice search and other crap.
Check these threads:

Backup first, of course...

If you want Google apps for play store you can download them from other places as well... No need to install gapps for it.

Will any Gapps files work? I'm asking because I saw the Gapps file only for Cyanogenmod builds.
And again, thx for your help!
On stock based roms usually Google apps are included. If you have Google Play installed then you have Google apps.
What apps are you talking about?
Maps, Gmail for example are to be downloaded on Google Play.

The only option im having is the "camera search" after updating google in play store.
Region Dependent maybe?
I'm not sure though but Google Now may be region dependent? I have the same problem with the recent 4.1.2 update here in the Philippines. I will try to install a UK firmware and well see how it goes.

Google now is location dependent thus, it wont work on some network/country/region... just like google wallet. It was working when I was in the US but not here in the Philippines.

Play Store 'No Connection' Fixes

1.Clear data and cache of Google services framework and play store. Reboot.
Or
2. Remove play store updates.
Or
3. Remove and reenter gmail account
Or
4. Install an older version of play store. If it is installed as a user app the convert it to a system app with the system/app/mover.
Link requires aptoide

You can use titanium to move apps to system and v.v.......an app that has a solid reputation and comes from the playstore.
No offence OP, just making a relevant point
i have had lot of weird problems with play store while running aosp roms sometimes rebooting or reflashing helps but anyway havent had problems on stock rom

get a root app uninstaller and uninstall playstore and install it again the latest version?
If you have adaway installed, disable it and reboot then open play store it should fixed. Even if you don't have adaway installed then install it, disable it, it should generate standard host files and that should fix play store. I've had this issue on Energy ROM while using VPN's.

Really weird problem and solution. I've been using Adaway for sometime and have never had issues with the play store even though I have several additional host sources added to my host file. I never had a problem before that either when I was using the "Mother of All Host files" adblocking host file I obtained from a thread here on XDA. Really weird and strange that's all I can say.
@Odysseus1962 it's not Adaway that causes this issue, its some other apps mostly VPN and market apps(mobogeine or 1mobile market etc) that adds a line in host file which causes play store to say "No connection" or can't connect to server while adding Google account. You may re-enable Adaway after disabling it should work with no issues.

Thanks for the clarification. I don't use VPN and the only other markets I use are Fdroid and Amazon, so I haven't run across this situation yet. But it's always good to know something like this should I ever have such an issue. At least now I would have an idea where to look to troubleshoot.
