Hi everyone, i have some questions.
1- I'm out of the at&t network and the hostpot is not working for me (This is since android 4.1), how can I fix this?
2- Is there any way to root this device without having to unlock bootloader?
That's all, I'm not very familiar with this phone, it's for helping my friend.
1. Don't understand .
2. No. If you will read some tutorials or even see "all in 1 tools", the bootloader is always mentioned. If it wouldn't be necessary to unlock it then why should they have written about this?

Hi mates! here i go with my first stupid thread for those who know about all this!
I´ve been now 3 days and 3 nites searching, reading, and investigating all the web. and the more I read, the more I get confused. so 3 simple question and I won´t bother any more: 1, do we MUST root our htc desire to unlock it by software?
2, is there any software to read/ or unlock a htc desire?
And ther is no no3! sorry!
Hi guys, first off, I'd like to apologise if this is not the right place for this thread- feel free to move it to the right place if so!
Secondly, I'd like to ask if there's a method for unlocking a bootloader that is locked... do I need to unlock the tablet from the EE carrier first? Or is there another method of doing so?
I tried to root the device for hours on end and nothing managed to work at all!
Any help at all would be appreciated!
Thank you,
Amro

if you have an operator market device, 99% you will not be able to unlock your bootloader.
You can look in Service Menu if your device bootloader is unlockable.
But even if it is not, you can root your device easily, just look for instructions on XDA.
The only thing you won't be able to do with unlockable bootloader is install custom (e.g. CM, FXP) firmwares on your device.
Hi guys,
I want to begin by saying that this is not a thread asking for helping unlocking a specific phone. I realize that it's illegal in most countries, and I'm not looking for help in that department.
That being said, my question is regarding the lock mechanism. I've seen on the web that flashing the phone with a different ROM and bootloader won't unlock the phone. If so, the information regarding the network lock can't be inside the flash memory of the phone...
So, where is it kept? How is it able to survive a flash from a custom ROM?
Thanks
Hello. I am not very familiar with flashing and rooting stuff, so I would like some help (I do not want to brick my phone)
I have the single sim, and nougat 7 installed. So. I have already unlocked my bootloader (and lost my DRM keys, did not backup).
Question 1: There is a thread on how to root it and as far as I understand I need to roll back to android 6, and flash the .img kernel and then it's rooted? The instructions are very unclear, and badly written. Is this the way to root or I'm wrong? There is no root for android 7 yet, right?
Question 2: Is there a way to bring back the lost DRM features of the camera and the x-reality engine? How? I had found a thread saying how to do it some time ago but I've lost it.
I have read a lot of threads but it's not simple enough for me to understand. Any help would make me very happy

Thank you very much for your help.
@gjoser
What were the steps you've done so far? Please give detailled information, we here are not clairvoyants.

To root a device's Android unlocking device's boot-loader ( assumed it's allowed by OEM/Carrier ) isn't necessary at all. Unlocking the boot-loader is only a prerequisite if you intent to flash a Custom Recovery and/or Custom ROM .
Anyway, you can unlock a phone's boot-loader if in its Android's Settings -> Developer options the option "OEM unlock" is offered.
ok if I have it and I have it activated. What would the next steps be? Thank you.

Look inside here.
ok friend I'm reviewing the page, the doubt I have is that the firmware that asks me for the process asks me for the stock rom. now this is the file that ZTE_A521_MT6580_ATNT_Mexico_20171114_5.1.zip gives me what I don't understand is why it gives me an MT6580 if the phone is qualcomm?
