Pros: Phone is in mint condition. Came with Android 4.12
Cons: I ordered a Black HTC One but they sent a silver one instead. duh heck?
The stock recovery on the phone was corrupt or missing.
The previous owner obviously had this rooted and a unlocked boot loader and blew up the phone... that's why they returned it to either AT&T or HTC.
Luckily we have the XDA devs so we can fix problems like these!

Just very familiar with what grade b refurb means. Maybe yours will be mint, too but most won't. Hope yours is.

Yeah the camera is not a deal breaker for me.

When you trade your phone in to BB do they care if its rooted? Should I relock my phone and flash a stock ROM or just wipe it and give it to them.

Depends on the best buy. Yes they aren't suppose to take any phone in if its been rooted or flashed to another network. In my store I'm the only one that knows about rooting ans such and everyone else cares less. They just want phone to work or they have iPhones. I wouldn't take it but my Co worker would be like," thats a a cute blue Android when it boots. "

Like I said I was flashed to Boost. All I did was whipped out the donor phone.
Well I just relocked my phone and am currently running the updates to get it back to stock. I figured going stock for a week might make me appreciate the awesomeness of the Evo LTE that much more.
So my HTC one came in today at 8am from FedEx. I preordered the first day I was allowed and choose overnight shipping. I did not get a dev version or sim unlocked. Did anyone else's come in? And do you think its okay if I activate it since its not the 19th yet?

Why would there be a problem to activate it? It will only start you're 14 day return policy.
I'm not an addict I just flash a lot.
Wow. I actually ordered my 64gb edition as an upgrade don't AT&T yesterday and hoping that it'll be here by Friday. Should be fine with the 2 day shipping. Didn't think they started sending them till today. Awesome that you got yours.

I fastboot flashed the international one TWRP recovery and then used it to flash Chainfires SuperSU via zip.
It can all be found under the HTC One forum. Although everything is working for me, keep in mind they are seperate devices and I am not responsible for any damage caused by flashing stuff for the international variant.

Also remember to turn off quick boot under setting/power. With quick boot on it doesn't go into bootloader or recovery.

I have to buy a new DNA from Amazon after I was reimbursed through squaretrade for my old broken one. Are all the new DNAs preloaded wtih 2.06? I have a feeling I'm going to miss my old S-off DNA a lot....

I recieved mine with 2.04 and have been putting off updating.
Waiting for moonshine.
Bought my DNA a week ago new on vzw online and it was 2.04 out of the box. I hope we get an soff option for this version soon...

LOL, I agree. First off I just got my DNA Wednesday (for free) and It shipped with 2.04 and I haven't received any update notification as to this moment. Second - I have avoided Big Red for the last 6 years and things like this make me wonder if this was a "good move" for me. However I will admit that the Droid DNA is one of the best android devices if not the best they offer this phone a bad-azz no doubt about it. I like HTC and I think they would or could care less if you boot, root or pollute your phone that's why they offer the unlock codes but they have been doing a terrible job marketing their products so when the #1 cellphone provider in America say's NO, they will certainly comply.
I just got one as well in the free deal and it came with v2.04. It has been asking me to update to v2.06 though.
There is a new way to root with S-off, it is done and getting ready for release for all to do if so desired. serious, any day.

Should be able to check in the bootloader. It's right up at the top below where it tells you either S-on/S-off.
Used the promotional coupon from Verizon and got my free DNA this past Friday. It had 2.04 out of the box. About 3 minutes after I powered it on I received the notification to install 2.06 which does nothing but fix some kind of sim card problems people were having. I did not do my research before upgrading to this phone and had no idea that rooting was not an option at the moment or that may have been a deal breaker. I came from the rezound and had it rooted the enitire time I had it. Sux not having a rooted phone after having one for so long. Almost feels like right now I'm in demo mode or something. Hopefully that moonshine method comes out soon cuz I'm in root withdrawal.

My verizon dna is for sale.
This phone works but it gets very warm when doing any thing demanding and the battery life drops fast.
Its more of a parts phone at this point.
Would rather sell it face to face here in Seattle.
Other then that its in 99% new condition.
Everyone will tell you swappa since xda isn't a place to ask for trades or sale any more

You could try through VZW. I bought an Inc LTE on eBay and one day it just refused to come up. Stuck in qcomdload mode. Called up VZW and they sent a replacement.

Considering they left SELinux permissive on... I am hoping they screwed up big time and will allow this...
All my Androids have always been rooted soon after getting the phone.
Is the Dev version rooted and bootloader unlocked? Or is it just the bootloader and have to root it yourself?

How exactly? A Note 3 sale is a sale, it's the same device. It costs them pennies practically in extra work. They don't care from that end. It's whatever their contract is with Verizon that matters.

Well i sold mine for less than the dev edition and so samsung made the difference i paid. I know most people sell their retail ones for less than full price. And because i bought two phones so they made two sales, regardless if i sold one, they still got two phone payments.

That makes sense on a personal level, but realistically the number of people doing that is statistically insignificant. I have a hard time believing anyone's 'developer edition' device has sold much more than a rounding error.
