I own both a galaxy nexus and a rezound (Took advantage of the $50 deal). I now know that the Rezound uses a standard sim while the Nexus uses a mini or micro sim. I obviously will have to go to Verizon and ask for a new sim every single time I want to switch between phones normally, however I have heard about sim cutting before... Is it realistic that I could cut the regular sim down to fit the nexus and position it or use tape to fit it back to the rezound? If this is a really stupid question I'm sorry, but I have been a Verizon customer forever. Although I have owned many different LTE devices galaxy nexus was first with mirco/mini sim....

That is basically what you need. I assume it works with LTE sim cards. That includes the cutter to cut a big one down to micro and 2 adapters so you can then use the micro card in the Rezound.
Adapter only; better reviews:

It does work to cut the simple but you do also need an adapter so you could put the small one back in the rezound

thanks for the help guys. Looks like I'm probably going with an adapter and going to Verizon tomorrow to get a micro for my nexus and just use that one to switch back and forth. Thanks again guys!

That is probably what I would do.
Did that work for you? I'm thinking of doing the same.
Thanks.

I'm in the same situation. What I did was just take the micro sim out of the nexus and just lined it up in the space on the rezound where the sim card connectors would line up. Sometimes I have to just readjust the placement to align the leads correctly but, it does work.
The only annoying part is getting it out of either sim card holder, nexus or rezound. I don't use the sim card adapter. Just make sure to start with the regular micro sim. Cutting the full sized one may be tough.
Good luck!

Glad to hear the Rezound works with the small one. Unfortunately, I have the normal SIM, so I'll have to try cutting it down to size if I want to pop it in a Nexus (or something else). Just wanted to see if someone was successful with that. I don't want to have to ask/tell Verizon if I want to move to another phone (in light of the announcement today).

The SIM cards are free just call or go in and ask for one. I called and asked for a micro SIM and they sent it. Then if you want get the adapter.

This was brought up before in the thread. Every time you wanted to switch phones then, you would need to wait a few days to get the new sim card

But if you just get the micro and buy the adapter then you would basically have micro and standard SIM card. Use the micro for phones that use micro SIM and use the micro with the adapter for phones that use standard SIM. And no needing to keep getting different SIM cards.

I get it now. No need to go through the hassle of cutting the SIM down to size. Just ask Verizon for a small one (presumably before they start implementing any forced contract changes) and use the new, micro SIM with (or without) an adapter for any phone. Sweet!
Thanks folks.
You can buy an adapter for $1.10 on Amazon. Fyi Verizon knows immediately which phone is being used. Hopefully, it still won't matter when the new plans are put in place this summer.
I know they can tell what phone you're using but I figured the act of going into the store and buying another phone (or asking for a SIM card) could be a trigger that gets them to move you onto their new data plan. But it looks like it doesn't matter now. It seems Verizon is okay with people keeping their old plans as long as they pay full price for a new phone. No more subsidies. If customers want to be stubborn and keep the plan that they signed up for, they'll just have to pay more. I'm glad for the option, but damn, that's a chunk of change.

FYI. The Rezound will work just fine with either the full size (standard) or the micro sim card. No adapter is required.

You don't need an adapter. The micro sim card will go directly into the Rezound and work fine. That is how I am running mine.
Hey!!
I am needing a micro sim card adapter that works with the ol' beastly Note. I would appreciate it if you can show me what works well for you guys.
Thanks very much!
Just a quick heads up. Make sure there is some type of adhesive on the adapter to hold the microsim or you'll be in a world of trouble. I had one without and the sim adaptor got stuck in the prongs. It took me 30min to take it out with any damage but some people have broke their phones trying to rescue the adapter out.
I agree be careful of the adapter that you use

This might be a silly question but, why not talk to an AT&T rep at one of the stores and get a new sim? at most it should cost $5, last time I needed one they just gave me one.
Just a thought
I used an old membership card (Supermarket card to be exact), cut it to the approximate size and cut out a hole for the micro sim. I've done this twice without any problem. I used a piece of tape to hold the smaller sim in. The homemade free adapters work in my Dell Streak, my Galaxy Note and my wife's Galaxy Nexus just fine.
You can find templates online with a quick google search.
I'm sure you solved this by now but adapters are $.99 or less on eBay every day.

Nope, its FREE! People would rather break their phone rather than go to the store and get a new sim -_-

Getting a new sim is easy,, but if u switch between devices alot like me. then a micro sim and adapter is the way to go.. i switch between my one x and note and galaxy tab alot..
Why does it list my device as using a micro sim when mine uses a normal sim?
I got a cutter. Cut my full size SIM and now have a micro AND an adapter. Go to att store, they'll give you a SIM.

Haha coming from an HTC one x(that came out broken) i had to get my sim cut to a microsim as my only replacement choice was this Note1.. i simply kept moving the tiny simcard abit more in.. abit more out.. abit to the left side suuper slowly until the phone read it lolz and i havent taken out ever since
Frugality ftw!
Just curious. I opted on my order to use my existing sim, but to my surprise, there was one already in the slot. Wondering if the phone ships this way. Thanks.
I received my DNA with a SIM already installed.

Mine was already installed. Bought retail and when I got home I saw it wasn't in the box. Used the tool to take it out, it was already in the phone.
The SIM from my ReZound is a lot bigger than the SIM for the DNA ... So I could not use the same one.
Yeah they come with one. The guy at VZW was bumbling around looking for SIM cards in the closet finally found one and realized there was one in there already lol. I didn't know or I would have told him as I usually have to help them out. Then he had to start over. Irritating.

Got mine on launch at a local verizon. The lady setting it up started jamming the sim unlock tool in the hole on the bottom of the phone. She was pressing as hard as she could trying to get the sim out. I wasn't paying attention at first but when i noticed what she was doing i told her that was the mic. Oh she said and continued looking at the phone to find the sim hole and proceeded to remove and set up the phone. I waited till she was all finished and then told her no i wanted a different phone cause you just brutally violated the DNA's mic hole. she rudely started saying their was nothing wrong with what she did. anyway got a virgin mic holed phone and all is good. I feel sorry for the guy who gets that poor raped phone. but yes the sim was in it as well.
As easy as it was for them to have that little tray for a SIM... Why couldn't they have done that for the sdcard as well lol
-HTC Droid DNA-
Mine was already installed....confused the Verizon Rep because she actually got a new SIM out of the drawer, popped open the SIM Tray, and voila-already there.
Mine was on a card that was waiting to be installed in the phone. Yes I did get mine at the Verizon store too.
I got my DNA online for free with the promotional code and there were 2 sim cards. One sim in the phone and another in the sealed card that you have to break out. Any reason for that or isit just how they do it. My wife's S3 for Amazon only came with one. I didn't activate the DNA yet, I'm waiting to root it before it wants to update. Why 2 cards, just a backup?

On a daily basis my phone will randomly tell me that there is no Sim card(btw I'm att of that makes any difrence) in the phone. The only way to fix the problem is to reboot the phone. Any ideas what's causing this? I tried flashing a different rom but to no avail. What should I do?

Just to commiserate, this happened to me today too - second time total. Gonna keep digging through the forums...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007361&highlight=sim+card
glad im not the only one.. i posted about this few weeks ago.. i tried going to att store and they wouldnt give me a new phone since it was the 16th day ( 14 day return policy).I thought it was still 30. I went thru warranty and they are sending me a new phone. just waiting for that to arrive.. still happens every once in awhile. annoying.
Happens to me too. Don't have to reboot though. Turning Airplane mode on and off does the trick. Every day or so I take it out and put it back in. Not sure if it helps but it makes me feel like it prolongs the issue.

Here's a summary of what I've learned, y'all correct me if I'm mistaken:
ATT sims only
Airplane mode and back - works as temporary fix
SOME report reseating the sim is a permenant fix
SOME report getting a new sim doesn't fix
Since this is happening to me daily now (maybe more I'm not noticing), I'm going to see what I can come up with. I just opened the tray and slid it back in with two pieces of paper backing the sim card (on the non-contact side of course), to see if by chance there is a problem with the physical connection of the sim, and if this can fix it. I'll keep you updated. I'm also going to see if I can get a new sim card from ATT.
Has anyone come up with any other solutions - or are we all dealing with this intermittently and just tolerating it?
===== UPDATE 12/14/2012 =====
5 Days now with perfect connection. Two sheets of paper thicker sim card works.
There is a few threads all about the same thing. I'm posting in this one because it's the highest on the list. I never had the issue before rooting. So I wonder of anyone can confirm this being an issue pre-root/pre-bootloader unlock? Just a thought

Same issue over here. Daily missing SIM card issue.
I have been having this daily with my AT&T One X+ as well. I'm stock, unrooted. I went back to aT&T today and they told me it was the SIM Card. We replaced that and it seems to be working. Now I know it hasn't been long enough to know if this is the fix or not, so we shall see.
For those who added the paper to the SIM tray, did your SIM card feel at all loose before you added the paper ? Mine doesn't feel loose at all.

Well I had this exact problem happen to me a couple times. Not enough to make it annoying. All I ever had to do was restart my phone and voila

My SIM card was loose in the SIM tray you can see just a small slack which is enough to mess with the connection

This has been happening to me 3/4 times a day, the other day i couldnt even read a full article online before it would pop up with a messege saying 'sim card removed restart phone (only option too)' i know its not the best option but i tapped a bit of wd40 on the sim and it works for days before happening again, not a permenant solution but has definitly kept me from tearing my hair out! Hope it helps
Guys,
I picked up a Blue 32GB HTC One from Best Buy yesterday for $599.99 off contact, got them to price match AT&T...Anyways, I went ahead and got S-Off on the device, but then when I went to put in my SIM card, I noticed that it was really hard to eject the sim card. I finally got it out, but the tray won't go back in all the way. I played with it a bunch last night and got it better, but it still sticks out. I have had a bunch of dev editions of the One and never had this issue, it was always flush or sunk in a little bit, never stuck out. There are also a few minor nicks in the blue around the sim card tray slot. Has anyone else had this problem? I was thinking about going to try to exchange it today, but I need to put the stock software back on it first, which takes an hour or so to complete the process. I'm not sure they will give me a replacement or not, I suppose I could tell them the SIM card isn't detected some of the time. I don't think they were really supposed to price match the blue version at 599.99 as they are the only ones carrying it. I'm afraid they won't give me a replacement at the same price. Any thoughts or help is appreciated.
Y2J
They give you a 14 day exchange policy so you shouldn't have an issue exchanging it since you have a hardware issue from what it sounds.
