[Q] Grennified apps GCM push - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I have a Galaxy S4 i9505 and I installed Greenify Donation, so I get that GCM Push option, and even with it activated, sometimes I don't get WhatsApp or Viber, for instance, notifications. Any solution to this? Thanks a lot!

Are you sure those apps have GCM and you installed xposed/activated the module correctly? If so, keep in mind that they are experimental features and may not work all the time.

Yes they have and its activated.

[Q] Galaxy s3 does not notify mail if the application is open

I have a problem, if I turn off the display without leaving the email app, the arrival of a new message, the phone does not notify the arrival, does not emit sound doesn't vibrate, the led not ... And I see a new mail only when unlocking the screen. However, if the app is in background or is closed notifications work fine
What rom (PDA/CSC) are you using?
Here is operating normally with the brazilian rom UBALE6.
You are right, if you have the mail app opened you won't have a new notification

[Q] Don't Remove Notifications (limited) not work on S4 Lollipop 5.0.1

Goodmorning everyone.
A few days ago I upgraded my galaxy S4 to Android 5.0.1 lollipop stock, losing Xposed Framework. The phone has permission to Root.
With Android 4.4.4 I active the GCM push (since I bought the package Greenify Donation), but with Android 5.0.1 I can not, because the GCM push used Xposed.
Having the root cell, I decided to turn on the "Do not Remove Notifications (limited)", but once hibernated the application, you can no longer receive notifications.
How can I do to keep active notifications ??
Thx for the answer
Bye.
This feature just keeps notification from removal upon hibernation, nothing to do with GCM push.
So you're telling me that the app hibernating no longer receive notifications?? It's necessary Xposed??

[Q] notifications issue with GCM

Hi everyone,
Im having issue after rooting my phone and installed Xposed. Im no longer receiving push notifications that used GCM (google cloud messaging).
As work around someone suggested to install freedom apk and that worked for me. But i really cant relay on it since some apps will not work by that. I need permanent fix and keep using roit and Xposed and receiving all gcm notifications. I believe its related to etc/hosts file.

Not receiving notifications of hibernated GCM apps

I've got xposed and supposedly enabled all the right options in the "experimental functions" menu along with enabled greenify in accesibility etc. But when apps are hibernated I simply do not receive their notifications.
Im on xperia 5.1.1 rom

Simply because there is a cloud symbol by the side of the App name, we can not presume that it uses GCM for Notifications. During hibernation, only notifications of Apps which use GCM will be allowed.
So check the Apps you hibernated to see whether they actually use GCM.

I've used Greenify since 2013. It's a very recent issue. It is indeed apps with GCM, Telegram, Hangouts, Snapchat, Skype et cetera.
Should mention it's a clean install of Android and it also happened on another ROM I tried the other day. Can't really pinpoint the reason.

Messenger and notifications

Hello all,
I have one problem. I dont to get notifications from facebook messenger (beta), but Greenify decides that I won't. I have disabled greenify for it. I have root, Xposed module installed and I enabled Low hibernation which might enable push GCM but if I turn it off, turn on that second, more powerful hibernaton mode, it doesn't do anything. Even I have bought donation package but I still cannot get notifications from it.
This is the only app which is problematic. Whatsapp etc. works like a charm.
Would you help me please?

The advice of the Dev is, not to greenify the IM type apps if you rely on them.
I had canceled messenger from being greenified and then I restarted apps. Then it starts to push notifications.
Anyway, thank you.
