Hello Everyone, let me start by saying I have been doing so much reading on this webpage in the past 24 hours (and casually browsed before) and I just want to say thanks. The site is awesome and the users are even better.
I recently installed ia3 of Android on Intel on my Acer Iconia W700 tablet. The guide to install was fantastic. I've had some issues getting GApps installed but I finally got them working where I went thru the google setup and everything and logged into GMail able to see everything so I tried my luck with the play Store.
The App loads and says "No Connection, Retry" I have tried installing a new .apk a few times, I even tried some of the suggestions regarding the ETC file (editing is, deleting it and all sorts of reboots etc) I've tried deleting the apk entirely and reinstalling and I just can't quite seem to figure it out. I am even able to install play when I am in system/app and long press and click install and I notice the version of play updated. Still having the same no connection error when the store opens up.
I know it must at least have an internet connection because anything I start typing into the search box it offers suggestions based on what I am typing. Ex: when i type in "Chrome" it populates suggestions such as "Chrome, chromecast, chromecast app, chrome browser, etc."
There has got to be something I am either doing wrong, or can try a different way. Thank you in advance for any help, and I'll make sure to click some thanks buttons along the way.

I have an Alcatel OT 909b through US Cellular. It is rooted, with the stock 2.3.5 ROM and recovery. It is unactivated and on wifi (it's my wife's new phone, I'll activate as soon as I can get it running the way an android should). There are no ROMs or recoveries that I could find that were compatible with this phone.
The phone did not come with the play store/market on it. I have been attempting to put the play store on it, and I am to the point now where I can get as far as the install and accept buttons. Unfortunately, as soon as it tries to start downloading it jumps back to the home screen. It does not give an error at this point.
If I attempt to access the play store from the stock browser, an error comes up that my carrier does not allow the play store. My other browser just times out at the play store. Other pages work fine. I have tried freezing all the carrier installed apps, and there are no entries in the host file other than localhost. I dropped a proxy app on there, and cleared the proxy. I don't know how to check that manually.
I'm assuming the problems are related. I'm kinda bummed they'd even send an Android device with no play store, but I have it now and I'd like to get it running properly. Can anyone point me in the direction where I might find this block?
Thanks!

Hey, I'm new to the forum and wanted to say thanks in advance for the help and to mention that I searched the forum before posting so I apologize if I've overlooked something.
I recently purchased a Polaroid PMID720 dual core Android 4.1 tablet to keep myself busy at work and I don't have access to the Google Play store, I had purchased a Polaroid PMID701 for my daugher for Christmas and had no problem getting the Google Market installed but so far I haven't been able to do the same with this one. I initially triend installing the older Google Market following the instructions found at the-digital-reader website (these are the instructions I used for my daughter's 701) but after I get it installed and attempt to start the app it crashes when I try to add my Google account. While searching I've stumbled onto the thread for the Polaroid AIO software several times but Southern Telecom (the company that makes the Polaroid tablets) doesn't offer the firmware for the PMID720 on their website.
I know that this is far from a high end tablet - it was purchased to watch a few videos, read some ebooks, and screw around on the web when I'm dead at work - but not having access to the Google Play store severly limits its usefulness (the Amazon store suuuucks). Any advice is appreciated and, again, thanks in advance for the help.

Google: "Installing Google Play without rooting on Android Mobiles or Tablets"
I cannot enter the url. I had the same exact problem as you. This method has worked for me (I also have PMID720 and got the same error as you when following the instructions that worked with earlier models).
While I was able to get Android Market installed, Google Services seemed to crash constantly. Also, none of the music apps running on the PMID720 recognized the playlists on my SD card (the same playlists that worked flawlessly on my old Emerson EMS543 and another Android device).
So, my solution was to return the PMID720 and exchange for a PMID705. Yes, it's slightly slower and less memory, but everything works: Android Market, Play Lists, etc... And, it was $30 cheaper.
I followed the instructions at:
http://www.the-digital-reader.com/2...ps-gplay-etc-on-polaroi-pmid701/#.UN48FG9X2WZ
The Play Store would say 'blah no data provisioning' or 'no reliable service...'.
I then went to Settings>Accessibility and at the bottom there is box to enhance web accessibility. I turned that on and launched the Market and followed the prompts. Afterwards a Google account was in my settings and I could access my apps at the Play Store. I then reset the Accessibility setting to 'Not Allowed' because I do not know what all it does.
I should also mention that I altered my '/etc/hosts' file, but I am not sure that was needed. I immediately downloaded the XDA app and saw your post. Wierd, huh?
Hope this helps.
Edit: I erased the google market and retried my steps and they failed. I had to install the apps in this order to get it to work again (I did leave the Accessiblity feature on again):
1) OneTimeInitializer-signed.apk
2) SetupWizard.apk
3) GoogleServicesFramework-signed.apk
4) vending-3.1.3-signed.apk
When I tried to connect with my gmail I got the same errors as above until I rebooted my tablet, it then finally connected. I sincerely hope this works for you. Also if you have installed any of the above, delete their data and reinstall.

I followed your instructions, but after the reboot, I still got the no data provisioning error. I then toggled the wifi to airplane mode and back and then I was able to sign in and download apps from the Market and the Gmail app began syncing. Chuck

That post will tell you all you need to know to get Google Play Store (the ICS version, whatever that was) on your PMID720. I just finished doing it, and it is working fine. If only my wireless at home was! lol
I used the wireless adb portion of the play_alpha2 package. It worked flawlessly, once I realized which copy I needed to download. They all have exactly the same name, but they're not all identical packages.
Good luck!

Updated method!!!
I can't be the only one out here still using this tablet and trying to figure out how to improve it! The Google Apps are still working just fine. No forced closes or errors of any kind. I am pleased as punch about this, but it's kinda frustrating to come in so late in the game and find nobody looking anymore.

A lot has been said about this error, but I still can't fix the damn thing.
Clearly it's not the phone, it has to be something with the account. This is my daughter's phone and when I formatted/installed and set it up with my Google account, Google play works perfectly fine. I tried probably 6-7 times to wipe/re-install and keep getting this error.
The interesting thing is that there are 2-3 apps that it does download (Titanium, ES File Explorer, SMS Backup) and of course the Google apps, but it refuses to download other non-Google apps and refuses to update anything.
I tried clearing, removing account, add account - you name it. It won't budge.
Any solution to this, because the phone is really useless like this.
I am using cm-11-20140731-NIGHTLY-i9100 and the phone is rooted of course.
Thanks.
Anyone with an idea?

You could switch on "USB Debugging" in the Development Settings, and read/search the log with "log cat", while downloading a non-google app.
If something is wrong, then it will be in the log files (and CyanogenMod Builds are perfect for this, because they are often running in Debug Mode).
I've done this very often, and it helps almost every time :victory:
Google Error Codes are one thing, reading the logs another ^^
If you find something suspicious, we can investigate it and find a solution.
Hi guys, i just got my mi box a few days a go and i'm struggling to make it work properly.
I seem to be unable to install apps from google play store, it starts downloading and then fails on endless errors, 400/403/920 and so on...
My network is just fine, i have other tv box connected, apple tv, computers, phones, everything works well on all other devices.
The play store tends to through me error that the network is disconnected though its not.
I somehow managed to side load netflix and latest youtube version - they stream 4K without any problem - so i know for sure the network is fine.
Also, i tried updating to latest firmware (beta, from here: https://beebom.com/how-update-mi-box-android-nougat/) - no help either, still the same issues.
I've also tried every procedure out there, clear cache/data of the play services and play store, uninstall account, create a new google account, nothing seems to work.
It seems that play store is not the only issues, i side loaded gmail - same issues there, same for google drive.
I'm lost, not sure what else i can do to get it work.
Help will be appreciated, i can maybe try to install a new rom but no idea where to get one from.

I installed Google Play Services/Store, which works perfectly fine, but afterwards I could no longer open the Kindle App. I only installed Google Play Services because I wanted to be able to read from the Google Play Books App as well as the Kindle App since this new tablet screen is much larger than my LG G5 screen. Well, now the Kindle App doesn't open at all. It starts to open but immediately crashes back to the home screen. The preview page, for reading, shows what books I have but I can't open them from there either. I've tried clearing the cache manually in every app on the tablet. I've tried restarting. I've googled many different phrases to find help on this but so far I haven't found any type of thread that discussed this problem. I'm out of ideas.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Note there are (at least) to variants of the Kindle App:
- stock Kindle designed to run on FireOS (only)
- scaled back version available via the Play Store designed to run on 'generic' Android;
You may want to try installing the Play Store variant to see if that resolves the issue while retaining a sufficient number of core features for your needs. Otherwise, a factory reset should fix the problem by removing the Google Play store and any associated detritus that may be interfering with the operation of the stock Kindle app.
