Hello to all. I just want to use custom boot animation on galaxy s3 device bcoz it supports only .qmg file. If possible to use zip bootanimation then plz tell me the way, even i seen this custom boot animation compatibility in neat 4.3 rom.
Of course it has that support... Just flash the zip file through your recovery of the boot animation you want..

Very nice. Dear i'm not noob. With directly flashed zip file it does not support the bootanimation. Then why i mentioned this thread here. the stock rom does not give the bootanimation.zip support. It supports .qmg file only at present.
Just so you know im also using a stock rom with custom boot animation and it works..
Maybe it doesn't work with the stock kernel..
I have noticed that whenever I flash a stock kernel my bootanimation doesn't show up..

hello guys
does it really support boot animation on S3?
and what kernals support this feature?
i dont think u need a kernel for that purpose. im running cm9 ROM with STOCK kernel and i get a cool boot animation.

i think what he means is "what is the difference between a mod and a kernel" or "is combining a custom rom and kernel equals a mod"
well if thats what you asking then mods are usually themes or enhancements to the UI or the general user experience
a kernel is the link between hardware and software.
like we flash custom rom so we also flash mod or just install it like an app

hi. i found a tutorial on how to crt-off but i do not know how to "decompile" or "re-odex" or mess with my system files to that extent, and those tutorials are for deodex only, and i do not want to flash different kernels.
i only have experience with system/csc/others.xml - for the keyboard secondary icons.
so, is there an easy way to have crt-off effect for my stock odex emr2 rom?
if there is none, just say no without an attitude.
thank you.

1.flash custom recovery
2. Find crt off mod and flash it in recovery
P.s : flash custom kernel with crt off mod hack to have crt off even without wifi connect

Once upon a time when ICS was released I downloaded this cwm install tool/script which would install the recovery contained in it to any ics kernel (I've only tried it for ics may work for jb too)...my question is that can I get something similar for twrp recovery...??
Note: I already know about Lupus kernel having twrp recovery but I'm not asking for a kernel...only asking for a twrp install tool.. I'm attaching the cwm install tool so you know what I mean..

You can do.. If you know unpacking/repacking of kernel.. Just unpack any kernel and then unpack ramdisk and in /sbin replace the "ramdisk-recovery.cpio" with my TWRP "ramdisk-recovery.cpio".. Repack ramdisk and make boot.img and flash.. Done..

I tried it with lupus ics kernel twrp recovery and packed it into cm10.1 kernel...(I dont see that should be a problem, or is it? ) When i went into recovery i saw that recovery was mirrored vertically on the screen (I pressed 'Install' on left part of the screen and the 'Install on right part also got pressed..Its usable but kinda weird)
Any idea how i can fix that?

Flashing a ROM changes the kernel (which contains the CWM),
so all you have to do is go find a custom kernel compatible with this ROM and flash it
