Is there any way to input emojis in a text without it taking up 40 characters? I downloaded an app from the app store and it didn't count emojis as 40 characters. So i was wondering if there was a way to make the stock messaging app the same (where it won't count as 40 characters), or the stock app with those modifications?
Btw I am on kit Kat, stock, not rooted, never have rooted it.

You will likely have problems if you remove the stock messaging app. I think functions like MMS messaging use it. There is no need to remove it, you can still use third party messaging apps.

Is there a way to support emoji? Like with Twitter and all? My wife and I have a flipping fun time messaging back and forth when I'm gone and would like to have emoji outside of messaging (which messaging does have emoji). I tried a few apps but none worked or required more downloads (such as GoKeyboard). So any suggestions? I'm running the newest 4.2.1 SlimBean ROM

I'm currently running the international ARHD 10.1 4.2.2, and i want to find a way to get the CM messaging app working, i would love to have quick reply in the notification drawer. Anyone able to tell me if this is possible? Been out of the Android game way too long.
Idk if the messaging app itself is what gives you quick reply

I have found that the ATT CM 10.1 messaging app has issues with displaying Mms messages. I have since started using textra which was developed has a direct replacement for this app. It offers popup. It is available on the market.

edit: in system/app/ I dont find mms.apk but "messanging.apk" and another linked files odex.
if I put mms.apk renamed take from a custom rom this app will work?

There are a couple of apps in play store that claim they unlock or unlimit text messages.

I noticed that some of my friends that have iPhone's don't get my emojis since they turn them to mms. Is there a way to keep them as sms on the default stock messaging app?
Thanks for your help.
