Sorry if this has been discussed to death, but I tried searching for a while and couldnt find any definitive, none hardware specific answers.
I am currently using a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and my Galaxy S3. I purchased A "Red Samurai" controller, it has been working fine with stock android games, but when I try to run SNES/NES/Genesis emulators, I am unable to keymap diagonals. I have tried SuperGNES, SNES9x, and a couple others with no luck. I remember about a decade or so back when I was messing around with emulators a similar problem was due to keyboard input and it couldn't regonize multiple commands at once. Does it stem from this? Has anyone come up with a work around? Any help is appreciated.

Hey guys, I am having a problem with my wiimote on VEGAn 5.1
I had it working not too long ago. Problem is I cant remember which ROM I was on. I really want to keep VEGAn because of the mouse support it has. I have it hooked up to my TV with the Dock and wireless mouse / keyboard is great. Wiimote would be even better to play all the emulators and stuff on my tv.
I had hook up the wiimote using the wiimote controller app but the mappings arent working right. I did the same thing as last time when i had it working right. anyone else having issues with this on 5.1 or is it just me. maybe i need redo everything?
thanks!
Hi, I just sorted out problems I was having with my wiimote. Mine was more hardware related but I did see a cross up in the mappings while I was hunting how to fix my problems. I noticed that even after a default reset to the map settings that map 1 was showing up linked to map 4 or something along those lines. Without resetting mine to see exactly which maps were crossed look at wiimote / preferences / mapping options. On this page you can touch the mapping sets to see their address. You don't want multiple maps possibly using different key assignments trying to share the same address.
So what I'm getting at is, make sure the wii remote is set to the map you want to use without other maps trying to use it also.
Nesoid is the Problem
Well....I think I figured out what it was. I cant get the Wiimote to work with the Nesoid App I can however get it to work with DroidEmuLite (cant remember if that is the name of the app or not, something like that).
So it is a Nesoid problem and not a VEGAn 5.1 problem, since it works with the other Emulator.
Thanks!
Wiimote works for me with SNesoid. Make sure to enable special input method in the "other settings".
I downloaded some GBA/GBC emulators (Tiger GBA/ GBC A.D.) on my player and they always seem to crash. I had tried other emulators beforehand and some of them worked, the button mapping was screwed up. The button mapping issue happened N64oid also where the A and B button only register as a B button. I tried to connect a Wiimote to it but no dice. Is there a way to fix the crashing emulators or is there a reason they are working? Also, is there a way to fix the button mapping issue?
I can confirm the button issue. It's very weird, it happens in most emulators and persists even if you change the location of soft buttons so probably isn't related to a touchscreen bug. You should be able to get around it by assigning the back capacitive key or a volume key to the A button for now.
Are you on 2.2 or 2.3.5? Mine is still Froyo, no official update in my country yet.
I can confirm this happening on my GP5 (US), running 2.3.5.
I tried sticking to other games, but certain other games also have issues with it. I know I've managed to crash some games when the playing becomes intensive.
confirmed. I'm experiencing this issue on the 5.0. any leads?
Just hook a PS3 controller to it. Problem solved, and it's much more comfortable (Plus, TONS of hardware keys to map to =D ).
Get an app. call SixAxis controller. It is awesome, and makes playing games so much easier. It requires you to be rooted and have a PS3 controller.
droid.emu appears to work when the keypad is set to VirtualPad enhance. The lite version is available free in the Android market.
Nes.emu works pretty good with nees games.
Snes9x-1.4.7.1 for snes, no problem with buttons.
in 2.3.5 (international) gamebator doesnt work anymore (the only gba emulator that didnt have the button problem). Gameboid (for GBA) have the problem with the A and B button.
Tigger mame, same problem.
Anyone have any idea why we have this problem?.
PS: N64oid 2.6.3 fixed the A-B button .
Has anyone tried the nds emulator? It ran my galaxy extremely hot!!!!

I have an Asus TF101 android running ICS with ViperMOD as a root.
Sixaxis Controller Compatibility checker and it said I am compatible.
I bought and installed Sixaxis Controller.
The right thumbstick will not program for ANY game or emulator.
This makes it useless for over half of my games.
I didn't post this in the TF101 section because after trying to find the solution myself,
I found that this problem isn't even close to being specific to my device, or tablets in general.
It seems more like a glitch affecting the Android OS in general.
I've tried multiple emulators (and the mapping system built in the app), multiple controllers, I tried repairing and redownloading the app.
I just can't figure it out!
what's the likelihood of being able to emulate an arcade light gun game, for example point blank, on the nvidia shield tv, using a wiimote as a controller?
does anyone have the means to try this?

I have tried so many ways to make this work. The only app that ever kind of worked was USB/BT Joystick Center Gold. I was able to use that on an older Minix I was using to play games on my TV. It worked well, but I haven't been able to find a way to make it work with the SATV. I have installed the app on my SATV and I am rooted, but it says it can't find "uinput /dev" and so it won't work.
I have looked into the mayflash dolphinbar, https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-W01...474996745&sr=8-1&keywords=mayflash+dolphinbar
I actually emailed them and asked if there was a way to make IR input work as a touch mouse on android, and they said it didn't have that functionality, but if I knew a developer who could point them in the right direction, they would build it in. Unfortunately I don't know anyone. Dolphin emulator achieved some level of wiimote functionality in the emulator, but it was only in the dolphin emulator, not system wide, and I am not even sure if they had the IR working, I think it was just the wii buttons.
I have tried everything, but I haven't had any success. If you stumble on something, please let me know. I used to be able to play TimeCrisis from PSXE, there were a number of android games that worked well with it too, like Major Mayhem. It would be awesome to get a wiimote working as an IR mouse on our SATV.
Possible solution
If anyone is interested in this, there is a product on kickstarter that may solve the problem. Right now Android support is on the road map, which all know means it may never come. But, it's definitely worth keeping an eye on!
Search for the Sinden Lightgun. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sindenlightgun/the-sinden-lightgun/description
Mame is definitely a lost cause and the wiimote in general via Android. In theory I think the most plausible way would be by using the dolphinbar as a mouse pointer. I played around with all this a few years ago and the only joy I had was gamestreaming the PC version of dolphin with the dolphinbar attached to the PC. I found the gun was terrible unless you were 3 metres away from the screen minimum. However if you can get this set up it works perfectly and can enjoy games like House of the Dead, Goldeneye Wii, Dead Space whatever it's called etc.
Hi all. This seems to be the potentially best place to help me with an issue of mine.
I originally posted this on the AmazonFireTV reddit page (titled Multiple wired xbox360 controllers on AFTV2) and the AndroidQuestions reddit page (titled AmazonFireTV2/Android multiple devices using the same keymap) .
After more poking around I've come to the conclusion that this is not an Amazon FireTV issue. It seems to be a general android issue. More so enumeration on the android if I'm using the correct terminology on it. I'm still trying to dig further to find a way to patch or fix this issue. Or spoof a connected controller to another vendor_id&device_id so I can use two of the same type of device simultaneously so my son and I can play multiplayer games on my FireTV.
I'm looking for all the help I can get! Solutions or anything!
