Hey, so I bought my xperia sola like almsot 2 years ago, and in the last month it became just horrible, working really slow, the battery became a disaster, I just talk on the whatsapp or leave the screen on for 20 mins and the battery goes down from like 100% to 80-85%, I tried to change roms(used Fludity v2 by pulak for a few months with no problems until it suddenly started), tried to do a full factory reset, doing a complete reset to the phone, installing the stock rom again and then all the proccess of installing roms again, but nothing actually works...obviously tried to calibrate the battery, no success.
No my question is, is there anything I can do? or that's just the wear of the phone and there is nothing I can do besides getting a new phone?
Thanks in advance.
Any answer please? more than 100 viewers and not even a single comment :\
Might have been a marginally bad battery, a similiar thing happened to me on the computer I'm writing on (battery lost less capacity over the first 2 years than what happened to other users of this same model, then the maximum capacity dropped from 85% to 23% in just 8-9 months)

I've got a bit of a problem with my Xperia Ray and despite hours of googling I still can't find a solution so I thought I'd see if you guys could help
Had it for about 6 months now and it worked great up until a couple of weeks ago when suddenly the battery life got way shorter, like I used to be able to get close to 3 days if I didn't do anything but sending messages and using some basic apps and even with pretty heavy use it still lasted well over a day.
Recently though it lasts under 20 hours with absolutely no usage, when I leave the phone overnight it loses about 40% charge when previously the use was under 10 for the same time period and even if its turned off it loses charge at a similar rate.
The other problem that started around the same time was that whenever the phone turns off from lack of charge or I take out the battery the date resets to 6 January 1980 and the phone seems unable to automatically correct it. Previously my phone was able to retain the date even after the battery had run down completly.
The only thing I can think of that changed before the problems started was that I used a solar powered usb charger for a few days because I was tramping but I have no idea what that could have gone wrong or how I could fix it.
I've tried a full factory reset, upgraded the android software to 4.0.4 and used various battery apps to try to find anything that might be using all my battery with no success.
Its driving me crazy so any help would be great.
Also here's a picture of a recent day of usage (not enough posts to embed it properly sorry), except for a short run I didn't use the phone for anything

Could be a lot of things. If the solar powered charger made your phone really hot while charging then the battery might be permanently damaged and you should try a different battery. It could also be that your power meter has gone wonky and this can be reset by charging the phone to 100% and then removing the battery and the usb cable from the phone for 10 minutes. Return the battery to the phone and charge it back up to 100%. Usually, when I experience something like this, it is some app that is draining the battery. Since you have just been trekking, maybe it is google maps. If it is tracking/updating you location, it will drain your battery really fast. You should be able to see this, just by going to system settings->battery. Stand by or Display are usually the big battery hogs.

Thanks for the replys everyone!
I don't know anyone with a ray battery but I can buy a new one relatively cheap so I'll do that and see how it goes
I'll post results in a few days
Well I got a new battery yesterday as suggested and tried it out from full charge but unfortunately there was no change in the battery life, it still ran all the way down in less than 20 hours with minimal use
Begining to wonder if its a hardware fault within the phone itself
Hi, got the C5 ultra a couple of days back. I feel that my phone slows down and lags when the battery is low? Its almost unusable due to the lag in the app drawer and recents panel. Im not sure if this happens everytime the phone is low on battery. Is this is problem for u as well and is there any fix?
Thanks

yes. it happens to me too.. also my battery takes forever to charge.. 15 mins = 2 % . but when it is turned off, it seems like any other phone.. contacted sony and all they said was to try the software repair, which i am tempted to do.. my youtube causes the whole phone to crash too every now and then. Have you encountered the same?

It does charge slow. I guess it charged from 14 to 78% in about 2.5 hours. My lg g flex charge in like 2 or 2.5 hours max and it had a 3500 mah battery. If we use a high amphere charger, it might mess with the phone's battery life. Other than the lag on low battery, I haven't had much issues aside from when the phone crashed 2 or 3 times when watching an hd video and then I had to manually switch it off and turn it back on.

Just did the sony repair as advised from sony support. The battery seems to be charging faster but my lg g4 still chargers faster as well. Hopefully some kinks were fixed as well, though i reserve my optimism since the software is basically the same.

After repairing, does your phone still slow down when the battery is low or has that been fixed as well? And did the repair delete all your phone's data?

Hi, used my phone for 2 days without charged. I decided to turn it off while charging since i noticed it was still faster to 100%. With regards to performance, I did not notice any considerable lag or heating, though the camera still had some lag and stuttering. The repair is basically a wipe of everything and reinstall. Sony said it was different to a factory reset as it like a "clean" wipe. Not sure what they meant there but so far im happier with the phone now. Still hoping that Sony releases a new update to address the slight stuttering, unsatisfying battery charging speeds and the laggy camera interface.

Hi ive also repaired my phone using PC companion and restored my data and backup. I definitely feel I feel less internal storage space available now about 2gb is missing. do u have any idea why this happened? In storage, it says android system has 8.8GB and I feel previously this was not so much.

im not too sure about yours, but mine is showing 4.95gb of Android system. try transferring some of your system apps to the external sd card if u have one.
sup guys
in the first place id like to say a big thankyou to all the people who spend so much time in developing for this amazing phone !
with the help of rudi666 i was able to set up my h960a until it is almost perfect for my needs.
it took me 4 weeks and 3 complete wipes to finally setup a killer custom phone. though its sad that this phone doesnt get more attention. its the best phone ive ever had, very fast, reliable, great screen and cam, killer sound, no bugs at all. with root and 200gb micro SD almost infinite possibillities !
since getting a bigger battery is obligatory for everyday work with this phone, i imported 2 ZL 9000ah from usa, cost me a lot of money (customs robbery) but now i have finally an amazing phone. rootet, flashed twrp, learned a lot about flashing, related commands and all this programming stuff i had no clue about in the first place.
but there is just one issue, the community seems unable to solve:
the insane hardcoded battery-capacity of 3000mah. even after 2 weeks of only getting into just this one problem, i found no way to solve this. no matter what i do, i cant bring the phone to read the 9000mah correctly.
instead, it behaves like many unsers mentioned:
round 1
100% goes down to 0%,
shuts off.
turning the phone on manually again, starts again with 65%.
getting down to 0 again.
turning on manually again, starting with about 8% again.
turning to 0% and now its finished. start to recharge using the LG charger with 2amps.
charging for the first time, phone shows 100% after ~1,5h.
in the first place i thought: oh, that was quick. plug off charger, started to use the phone,
and the battery-information went from 100 to 0 in no time. i was confused until i got deeper into it and finally learned that, unlike my samsung S3 i used with Cyanogen, the V10 is hardcoded with the stock-battery capacity of 3000mah.
with my samsung S3 i had Anker 7000? mah and NO probs at all, everything worked fine.
what i didnt know was, that even when the phone is charging and shows 100% after about 1,5h, it needs another 5-7 hours to charge completely to a "real" 100%.
so i tried EVERYTHING my humble capabilities allowed me to. no success.
i thought that many users have the same problem, and are tired of restarting the phone after just 1/3rd of battery power drained, all the information there is should be collected in one dedicated thread. i only could find spare spreaded information about this issue on XDA.
if anyone knows of a way to set the kernel-capacity manually oder any other solution, i would be really gratefull !
thanks/greetings from berlin germany
hello ? anybody dere ?
echooooOOOOOOOooooooo hello.
after a while of using and about 5x recharging from 10/20% to 100%
AccuBattery Pro shows the estimated capacity at 89XX mah, whats really close to the ZL 9000mah.
and ive noticed that the phone now endures up to 5 days normal usage in ONE session, so no restarting is necessary !
it seems, the phone learned the new bat capacity after a while and the hardcoded 3000mah dont seem to matter anymore.
so, problem solved.
cpuZ and other apps reading the kernel-info still show 3000mah but who cares. i got 5 days in one session.
so i guess this could help some people who also be confused about this issue.
i think ZL should put this information onto their site to inform people who got the same problem as i had.
ECHHOOOOOOOOO....
I thought a few hours ago the LG V30 Plus, i notice that the battery drain so fast. i'm really worried i spent so much money on this. I also read that the battery drain fast at frist days can come from proccess things or updates.
but i didn't update anything yet.
My question is: did you guys experience the same thing?
Thanks
Which version you have update 8.0 and turn off always on display option
We'll to make your battery last you need either a good rom or use apps like (greenify or L speed) because my battery was draining fast but using L speed last way longer
The V30 battery lasts forever ... find what app is dragging you down and remove it.

Right. If you've got high drain then you have a rogue app.
I have had the chance to use two V30 H932s -- the one that @R800x_user loaned me to figure out root, and the one that I bought from eBay to continue development.
The loaner was new I assume, and it would hold a charge for *days*. The one I got from eBay (which I am returning due to this) will lose 25% overnight (6 to 7 hours).
Both phones were bone stock v20k, and both rooted -- they are identical. When I say bone stock, I mean literally I installed nothing else on either phone.
The only thing I can guess is that someone fried the battery on the one I got from eBay. Every battery app that I have installed all say that it is 100% health (3300 mAh), but something is different.
My V20, which is loaded with crap, loses maybe 2 to 3% overnight.

Thanks for all replays, Second day the battery looks much better now i see the value of this great battery

Its almost been a year since i first got it. Holding up real good ?
Mines almost a year old now as well. After root, the memory usage seems to be better via the LG app and battery needs charged roughly every two days. That's with AOD and couple hours of wifi usage every day.
Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted but this is quite a serious issue and could some guidance. A few weeks ago, I finally updated my Galaxy S9+ to Android 10 after being on 8.0 for so long and it's been a decent update so far. I had gripes with SoT not being the greatest but it was tolerable. Last night, I received an update for my phone and I installed it. Didn't think too much of it and continued on. I charged from my phone to ~87% today, used it lightly while working. By the end of my shift, I had 50% left.
I left the house to go for a 81 minute walk with 47%. I usually don't worry about having enough juice to make it back home but I experienced the worst battery drain I've had with this device so far. During my 90 min walk I:
listened to Spotify using my Galaxy Buds (one ended up dying towards the end because I forgot to charge them)
Checked Instagram occasionally and responded to some texts
Took 2 pics in Snapchat
Had a short video call on Messenger
It was right after the video call I noticed my battery was at 17%, which I thought was very strange. I don't leave apps running in the background for long and I have a habit of closing them out when not actively using them and I noticed the battery kept on draining despite there being no apps open besides Spotify.
Turned on the medium power saving and within a few minutes, I was at 5%. Decided to kill everything and pit my device on max power saving mode for the first time since I've owned the device. By the time I was home, my phone was at 1%.
I'm really baffled at how the battery drained at an exponential rate. I'm a medium user and I've had this phone since late 2018. Never leave location services on, never used AOD, and used the FHD display instead of QHD along with dark mode.
I'm hoping today was just an outlier as I want to keep this phone for another 2 years, but if this happens on a consistent basis I'm gonna have to start searching for a new device.
In the meantime, I have charged my phone to a 100% and disconnected the phone and observed the following:
Within 2 minutes of disconnecting, battery went from 100 - 98%. Not a good sign considering it was just idling
The battery continue to drain every other minute and I could see the battery go down on each unlock
Wiped the cache partition and I went from 93 to 94% for a brief moment prior to the phone going back to the same pattern
This is very worrisome to me as I don't believe the phone will last until midnight, I'm wondering if it's possible to roll back to the previous update.
TL;DR - After the update yesterday, the battery drained at an exponential rate despite light to medium usage
Also, here's some screenshots of my battery usage

I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but all I can do is suggest changing the battery and doing a full, stock firmware flash via Odin to completely wipe your phone.
I recently replaced my phone's battery and did flash the firmware and my battery is really hanging in there. My battery was also 2 years old and before, I would get about 3h SOT when I play a game (and I do a lot). Now, I'm getting 5h SOT no problem with about 2-3h gaming included, so I really do suggest a battery change. I'm thinking you could be able to squeeze another 1 or 2 years into this amazing phone.
