I've had a look on eBay and have only found dust plugs for the headphone port but I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get rubber dust plugs for the charging port also.
Many thanks.

Cases like this one:
http://www.mytrendyphone.eu/shop/samsung-galaxy-note-118026p.html
tend to have a TPU dust plug. You can always just cut that off the case and use it.
Yes they do make them, not easy to find than normal USB 2.0, they are everywhere, but not the USB 3.0, there was a thread on here before, if I remember correctly, they were going for about USD 16 each, it's rather expensive.

Has anyone tried out any of the eForCity cases for their phone?
I bought my phone of Craigslist and it came with an Otterbox...but I really want something that has a flap to prevent lint from getting in the headphone jack. I was searching Newegg and stumbled onto this...
edit: I guess I can't post links so go to newegg and search for item 9SIA0PG09H1833
For $6 it might just go ahead and get it, but I figured check here first.
Thanks!
The otterbox has covers ( "flaps" ) for the headphone jack and USB charger.

I have one and it adds a ton of bulk to the phone and lint likes to get caught in all the crevices of the case. It also clings to your pocket a bit until your hand oils impregnate the case. I've dropped my phone a few dozen times and these style cases protect it quite well. For the price I'd give it a try.

My Otterbox has one for the USB charger but not the headphone jack...maybe it was modified by the previous owner.
Yeah, that sucks. Well if you like the case, buy a new one.

Ok,I cut two squares out of the plastic to expose the charging contacts.
This is confusing, it looks clean though

Looks like he cut two squares out of the plastic to expose the charging contacts. If anyone sells parts for these we could just buy the plastic from a variant that comes with access holes and put it on the Verizon version.

The last person i recall trying to swap the rear frames ended up with no LTE and no wifi. :crying:
It looks strightforward, but i would definitely like some more detail from the OP.
Did you have to add an copper material to the charging contacts in order for them to make contact with the QI terminals?
Unless our phones differ then yes he added material I did a similar process works great
Any1 trying this you need to be very careful
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
What did you add? It seems like it would be easier and safer to add a good bead of solder to each terminal on the QI piece. This way if you do make a mistake you're ruining the charging accessory and not the phone.

From my experience doing this via the copper tape method, he would've not only had to do this but attached the charging pins to the motherboard that are seen through the mid piece as well.

LOL are you [email protected]#ing kidding me. Verizon blocked up the contacts with plastic on their version of the phone, but left the actual internals the same?
WHY.
"Herp derp here let's take this amazing internationally launched phone and derp it down to our herp level." Stupid [email protected]#ing morons.
Ye I dont get it is it just under all thi
s plastic thats in the back of my phone??

Sure.
I solder two stock contacts on the motherboard.
And cut two square holes in the plastic frame.
Buy a N7100 QI wireless charging back cover.
With any QI standard charging pad.

I've also been wondering where one can get those pins. I've not had much luck sourcing them.
Ben
Lmao, seriously. Verizon provides good service only because they invested in lte instead of another technology, unlike the other carriers, and lte won. I don't even care that they put their name on everything.they can do whatever they want with that respect. But they make some stupid decisions sometimes..stupid for the consumer at least. I can't guess what they benefit from doing that

I just did mine and I used the cintact ground tabs off a old laptop. Worked great. No issues at all just a little solder some wire and a dremmel. Im lovin it.

I got those pins and QI charger from taobao.com, about $40.
Does the back cover for wireless charging sacrifice nfc functionality? Might have been why big red decided to not include it on our 605s... They try to do the thinking for us and protect us from ourselves
Props to whoever found the contacts on the board!

Looking to get a micro usb cable that has a small housing so that it works with my case like the Samsung OEM does.
Does anyone have a link to any cheap aftermarket usb cables that have a connecting end that is as thin as the Samsung tip?

As amazing quality as Monoprice is, their USB cables are not..
Have you used the premium cables? They seem slimmer.

This is what I bought but I'm not sure if it will fit with your case.
Works fine for my s-view case but I have nothing on the bottom.
I can't post links but found it on amazon.
AmazonBasics USB Cable - 3.0 A Male to Micro B (6 Feet / 1.8 Meters)

I've had good luck with their premium cables. The connector fits cases like OEM cable. I had a wire pull out they sent me another. They have lifetime guarantee ordered 6 more for around the house.

That's cheap enough. Only worried about whether it works with a case - both in fitment and whether the charging pin is long enough to plug in still with certain cases.
Good price but it's a cheap product from China that make me worried for my note 3.

That one's smaller, not designed for the Note 3, connector is also the old USB 2.0 design
That cheaper plug still works (N2 plugs, etc still work on N3 just not USB3)
However, thats making the phone stand up on its own weight almost & is puttting more stress on the plug then there really should be (hence the cheapness, bad not thought out design) I actually had a iphone 5 dock from china that I got for $4 the lightning plug snapped off from the phones free standing weight.
Ive owned those cheapy chinese docks for other phones, and...Honestly NOT worth the money even at that price. Finding one that has actual support behind the phone would be better...

Not sure which one you have but the one posted here has back support. I use a Ringke Slim Case which perfectly snugs in the dock.
EDIT: I however just tried using my spigen bounce case and it wouldn't fit Good thing I stop using that case.

Just ordered mine. Pretty cheap, even if I end up not using it like most of my gadget accesories.
Is there a thread or someone knows the list of cases that will work with the wirless charging while the case is on or it is not possible with any case ?

I'm using a Samsung wireless charging cover with a uag case. The fit isn't perfect but totally usable. It charges well with case on with the Samsung official charger and a Chinese knock off receiver. It doesn't work with my official nexus 5 charger.

I can vouch for OEM Samsung charging back and base while in an OtterBox Defender case. Only mod to case was removal of the "foam/rubber" sticky insert on the back. Otherwise, it fits and charges. Tight but it fits.... :good:
haven't heard any friends having something like that
