I just got a dopo 7" tablet from a relative and for the life of me cannot get it to root. I have been at it since 3-4pm (its 11:10 now) and no matter what
apk or .bat rootkit, or windows root exe i have tried from old guides and some new ("can root ANY android device 2014!!!") to youtube videos.
Yes I have the correct driver thanks to vroot downloading it.
i have unknown sources checked
debugging checked
tablet never sleeps/screen never shuts off
have it plugged into laptop via the cable the tablet came with usb to micro
root master apk failed
suggested root-rk29 tab rootkit each step it tried it could not find any of the necessary files needed on my tablet
(even after 3 restarts and 3 different methods)
vroot will try to restore data like the programs steps shows but as soon as it says restore started it immediately says restore ended and it gives an X in the circle and wants me to retry (tried 4 times)
tried doomlordz v4 rootkit and same as other rootkit it says the files arnt found and does the alternative methods and SAYS its completed but root checker still says its not
tried key root master mentions something about a cloud program but never roots
superoneclick becomes unresponsive for 20mins and does nothing so i have to end task (some says it freezes their phone/tablet) but my tablet acts like nothing is happening
I have tried googling multiple times only to find results related to 9" version (i assume newer)
So if ANYone knows a 95% guaranteed program/guide or something I would very much like to see it cause I have about reached my limit of patience on this thing
Please keep the guide simple as I have 0 knowledge on rooting other than reading up why I would want it or the common steps which did not work obviously...
What version of android does it have, 4.1.1 or 4.2.2? I have the same tablet and have been trying for about 6 weeks to root it. Mine came with 4.2.2. I have read that the 4.1.1 version has been successfully rooted. First off, you said that root master suggested root-rk29 tab but it wouldn't work. The reason is that rk29 is for a rockchip SoC and the em63 has an amlogic 8726-mx SoC. I have tried just about every root method I can find, both manual, oneclick, apk, and Windows scripts with no luck. I am hesitant to try modifying some of the methods because if something goes wrong chances of recovering aren't good. As far as I know, there's no way to create a backup of the firmware without root. I have talked with tech support at DoPo and to get a copy of the firmware I have to send in a microsd and they will put a copy on it. Of course after rooting the warranty will be void and I will no longer be able to receive support, but I'm not too concerned with that. Anyway, for now it looks like the best shot I have at rooting this thing is to modify the firmware and flash it. When I get a copy of the Rom I'd be happy to give you a copy. If you find a way in the meantime to root it please let me know.
If anyone else has any ideas or if someone with the 4.1.1 firmware could provide a copy I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

yup 4.2.2 so in the end till i see a working method im giving this 1 to my younger sibling and getting the nexus 7... hopefully itll be an easier and less stressful time. hope you get it to work.
I figured it was the updated version. They seem to have patched the updated version so most root methods won't work. It's good from a security standpoint, but I wish they would provide a way to root if that's what you want to do. It's a tablet, not a phone so locking it into one provider isn't an issue. Anyway, I'm sure you'll be happy with the nexus 7. That's what I have and I'm very happy with it. There's tons of support and custom roms. Rooting it is super easy too. I used wug's toolkit and I had it rooted, did a nandroid backup and installed twrp recovery in about 30 min. If you do happen to root the em63, or get a copy of the 4.1.1 Rom, please let me know. If anyone else has any ideas, or anything, please post. Thanks.
Hope this helps! I got it!
I hope this helps the EM63 users!

I was able to root my Gigabyte em63 with Root Genius with no problems.
I'm trying to find if anyone has a rom or if someone has gotten twrp for this model. My internal memory became unmounted or something because my total space is 0bytes making it impossible to do anything. Boots up in factory everytime and I can't install any apps.
Anyone have any luck?

Envizen has the stock firmware for the EM63 posted on there site. I don't know if it will work on the Gigabyte branded tablet but it does work for the Apex branded one without a problem. Just Google search for the Envision website and look for the EM63.

I recently received a Kuno Tablet. It has the same physical characteristics as the 10.1 except for the lack of a hdmi out. Its running android 2.3.1 with a 1.2ghz processor. I have been trying to find some way to root this tablet for a few days now and have had no luck whatsoever. As far as I know no one else has even attempted to root one of these. Help of any kind would be appreciated and I will do my best to answer any questions. I am considering trying petes root tools or gingerbreak but i have my doubts that this will work. I have tried to put the device into some sort of recovery mode but have had no luck so far with any of the button combinations I tried.
Hi xsurferx,
the Kuno really looks like the Archos 101... the chinese engineers are incredible.
Under the hood there's different hardware working.
The manufacturers website mentions a [email protected]
http://mykuno.com/kuno-specs.html
Due to this fact there's nothing in common with the way Archos created the firmware on the A101 and the way you could root this device.
You could try to find out how the firmware looks like on your Kuno... but i guess this is not the right place to discuss these things.
Anyway, good luck!

Progress
Any progress on trying to root the Kuno tablet? Superoneclick says that it roots it successfully but Superuser does not get installed. Is there at least a way to flash Gapps onto it? I can't even set up a gmail account unless I use the IMAP settings
super one clicks havent worked for me yet either however, i do work for the high school that i attend on their tablets and anything else they need done, through contact with the company that created the tablets ive learned that the tablet does not have a recovery mode and that the tablets actually have to be imaged like a computer would. So once i get my hands on an image i should be able to modify it to allow root access. If that fails im going to try rooting it through adb and installing superuser that way as well
what shcool has the funds to buy tablets like that?
So you just help them>?
lots of them
Many schools are going to one to one devices to try and help students learn and while they are expensive most of it is payed for by grants and other funds. I do anything they need from pc to mac and android. The tablets will be given out to freshman this coming semester and they want to see just how locked down these are and im assuming that rooting them will be the first step to unlocking them from the cirruculumloft software they are using. They want to see how to unlock them so they can prevent it in the future. Which is where i come in.
Status...
The kuno tablet has a recovery system that can only be accessed by flashing a new firmware to it, however, it is not possible to get this firmware without getting it from the company that made the tablet. So...in order to root the tablet you have to create a custom firmware from scratch for the tablet because the firmware on the tablet was designed in such a way that the android market can not run on it. The company removed the directories and other items the market needs to run. You can not connect the tablet through adb, nor can you install from SD or even access the SD card from inside the firmware the tablets are currently running. In order to root this tablet we would need to create a custom firmware and then flash it onto the tablet. Anyone interested in trying? Also, super one clicks will brick the device, I'm surprised yours still worked after that.
new discoveries
The market will run on the tablet, i was lied to on that one. The tablet connects through adb very easily and most commands work in adb. unfortunately you can not reboot into recovery or the boot loader through adb
unrevoked won't find my tablet. what do i do now?
this
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=unrevoked+won't+find+my+kuno+tablet,+What+now?
I work for a company that will be selling these Kuno tablets to schools. A CurriculumLoft Employee told me these tablets are not approved by Google so that makes them not able to use the android market. I have found that these can use the Amazon App market.
Figured it out!!!
After working on this for the better part of 6 months i have finally achieved root and flashed a custom rom with CWM recovery installed. I found that the Kuno tablet is essentially the same as the Arnova 10 G2 tablet with the exception of hard drive size. Here is the link to the site and instructions i used to flash the rom. If any one has any questions let me know.

Hi all:
I recently purchased the following tablet from Best Buy on Black Friday:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/d2-android-tablet-4gb-black/2469403.p?id=1219073320325&skuId=2469403
It's running an Allwinner A13 CPU, which I know can be rooted via a variety of methods. My issue is that all of the rooting solutions I have found use an exploit in 4.0.4 to install su and Superuser, but this tablet shipped with 4.1.1, so all of these methods grind to a halt. I have scoured the boards for anything and everything--I've tried the Sony Xperia tool, I've tried Uberizer, I've tried bin4ry's tool--literally nothing seems to work (although bin4ry's tool did seem to install busybox successfully.)
I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out--this tablet is borderline unusable because D2 does terrible things to their devices, and if I can get root I can install CWM and begin stripping out all of the bloatware and junk.
Any luck?

Hey there. I have the same tablet, and have been running up against the same dilemmas.. I'd really like to use this as disposable/travel device.. something that I dont have to worry about at all getting stolen or broken, but that can do the basic things a tablet should do.. But as is, it's jammed so full of kids crap that it has no room left on it, and trying to run JB on it it just rediculas.
I would really like to root it, de-bloat it, and flash a custom rom on it.. something very bare-bones to try and get some pep back in it.
Have you had any luck finding a root solution for this device yet? Nothing I know of has worked.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Max:
I unfortunately never was able to get this rooted, and I threw everything I possibly could at it. I ended up returning it. Wish I had better news.
Does anyone know of a custom recovery that has been compiled for the LG L15G (AKA Sunrise)? I've been looking all weekend for one and haven't had any luck. I know there's no official build of either CWM or TWRP available for it, but I'm hoping to find an unofficial build that will work. I have it rooted already, but I've not been able to find a recovery for it and I don't want to do any more hacking till I have that.
Also if anyone can point me towards a decent custom ROM for this thing I'd appreciate it. I haven't had any luck finding that either.

Just picked this phone up too, any luck on getting a ROM for it?
I picked one up....couldn't resist for just $9.82. I didn't let it update, so I was able to root it with Kingroot 4.6. Quite snappy after all the bloatware was removed. Have about 1.5gb of internal memory left, but added an 8gb microSD. I haven't been able to findy any recovery, doubt one exists. Nice little emergency phone to have in the car or backpack.
Just picked this phone up as well, and KingoRoot doesn't work. I wasn't prompted for a firmware update when I first cranked it up so I guess I'm on some version that isn't supported? Can anybody clarify what the status of this device is currently? I've got the Tracfone version.
I just rooted my LG L15G tracphone with KingRoot and it worked immediately. Great!
Next step is to get this 10 dollar phone unlocked.
By the way, my firmware version is: Android 4.4.2
I picked one up last night. Kingroot said my device wasn't supported but clicking "try it" successfully rooted the device!
I replaced Kingroot with SuperSU by following these directions: http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html?m=1
I've removed McAfee, but are the Tracfone bloat apps safe to remove?
Tracfone refused to give me the unlock code because their policy is that the phone must be active and have minutes on it for 12 consecutive months (wtf?)
One unlock website did have our device listed (http://www.imei-unlocker.com) but both their methods said that unlock wasn't available yet. They refunded me for both attempts.
If anyone has a Linux setup, we can compile our own TWRP. I found the kernel source earlier today: http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=NAME&search=Lgl15g

I just got this phone for Christmas. What version of Kingroot did you use? The ones I'm downloading don't work. (The one I've tried says something about no available root strategy and adds me to some stupid que line or something. There is no "try it" button after it does this.) You happen to have the specific APK you used and what version was your phone on when you rooted it?
Currently mine is Android version 4.4.2 with kernel version 3.4.0. I haven't attempted to update it yet as I am to assume that would be a bad idea. Unless you have a version newer then mine, then I guess updating would actually help me in this situation.
Looks like there STILL isn't any custom rom or custom recovery for this phone yet. It's been out since July and thanks to the $10 phone promo, there are tons of these out in the wild so I'm surprised nothing has been done with it yet.
I really want to root it as I want to remove some bloatware like McAfee and Polaris office. I would also like to uninstall Chrome so that I can install it to SD card. (unless Chrome can't be moved to SD card, in which case this would be a waste of time I suppose.) Aside from a few extra Google apps, there really isn't that much bloatware aside from what I already mentioned above. I can wait for a custom rom/recovery (though having a custom recovery would be nice as it would allow me to backup my phone incase something gets messed up). I just want to free up some internal storage by removing the bloatware.
(also, the no outside links thing with new users is annoying. I agree new users shouldn't be allowed to. But please at least code the forum to be smarter. I had to manually remove all the links to a post I quoted before it would let me post. That's kinda stupid. If I quote a post in the same thread I'm responding too that has links, it should be assumed to be safe since the links were posted by a verified member. I would hope the forum could fix that or at least have the common ***king courtesy of removing the links from the quotes for me. )
EDIT:
Ok some interesting news to report. It almost wants to work now. For what ever reason, it randomly decided to finally show me the "Try it" button. (I should have clarified earlier it never displayed that button. It would just say root strategy unavailable and that was the end of it. Now it says there is one and lets me use the Try It button. However it will get to about 60% (though it will randomly stop earlier on other attempts. Sometimes my phone will reboot after it reaches 20% or so) it will just say root failed.
I don't understand why this is seeing that my LG Sunrise is pretty much the same as someone else who managed to root it with Kingroot. It's never been updated. (I even checked for updates and there aren't any).
The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is that the phone isn't yet activated as I have not gotten air time for it yet. Does this root process require the phone to be on an active SIM first?
Root with Root Genius
I have root my LG L15G (Android 4.4.2, kernel 3.4.0+, software version LGL15G10f) with Root Genius for PC v3.0.85.
Of cource, before rooting "Developer options" must be unlocked (5-8 taps on Settings>About Phone>Software information>Build number) and turned on; in "Developer options" must be selected "USB debugging".
After this connect phone to PC. All phone drivers must be installed.
Run Root Genius. When program will ready and say about connect with LG L15G - press one button. After 2-3 minutes root is enabled.
Titanium Backup works. But I have no ideas for unlock the phone to make a possibility work in other GSM-networks, except TracFone's.
Hmm, I had tried Root Genius and that didn't work for me (and yeah I did enable USB debugging. I apparently was using an older build of Root Genius. But I found and used the build you used and still get the unsupported model error. ). My software version is as follows:
Android Version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: M8610B-AAAANAZM-1.0.6060
Kernel version: 3.4.0+
Build number: KOT49I.LGL15G11a
Software version: LGL15G11a
There does appear to be some differences in the software version of mine vs the post above me. I'm guessing they changed something. But that's odd as my phone was brand new just like yours assuming you got it around the same time as me.
EDIT. Ok some bad news. Looks like there was a newer software update (that my phone apparently came with) that blocks root and even prevents download mode from working. (I had attempted to boot into download mode but none of the button combinations work and even the root scripts I've tried can't get it to reboot into download mode)
Seems I'm stuck with a phone I probably can't ever root.
It seems it can still be forced into download mode by using a "56k/130k/910k cable" cable (special cable with resistor on one of the data lines). But they are running for $18 on ebay and way to damn expensive for a simple cable with a resistor installed. Resistors are probably only worth pennies each, so they are way too expensive to be charging that much for it.
If I had a such a cable, the root script I had tried awhile back might have worked as it needs to get the phone into download mode to finish the process.
There seems that there's little hope for your phone but I may have a solution. My LG Sunrise got updated as well and got root access with the update. You can use King Root but not Kingo.
Look it up on Google. So far I've had no success on getting to the recovery mode.
I've tried rooting with KingRoot. It will just say it failed after 20% (sometimes it goes higher, but always end with it saying this).
Note that unlike your phone, mine already had the latest update out of the box.

If you still haven't got root yet,for me it was McAfee that's been blocking Kingroot every since Nov.
Even though I never set up an account,it was the culprit..I opened the McAfee app created the account and Disabled.
Went to settings,ALL apps, then opened McAfee..Scrolled down to ''manage space'' and deactivated and hit force stop.
Then I ran KingRoot version 4.8.0 from this site.My device rebooted at around 30%,went back to KingRoot and it finished rooting.
THANK YOU!
It took a few tries, but after disabling McAfee's root protection (It completely skipped my mind that this stupid app would have a feature that would interfere. ) KingRoot definitely did it's thing. (I had to re-attempt twice because once it rebooted and failed. So I had to kill the app again and try again. That time it rooted without restarting).
I've already uninstalled McAfee and a few other system apps I need to get rid of. (McAfee on a $10 phone? Yeah..... No.... I'll take my chances. )
I also replaced KingRoot with SuperSU and uninstalled Purify and the KingRoot app that installed the root. After cleaning out unneeded bloatware, this phone is pretty responsive now! It used to lag a little and not register touches some times. But after cleaning out the bloatware (McAfee was probably the main source of the lag) it runs pretty well now!
EDIT:
Ok minor issue. I can't seem to uninstall Chrome (since it's a system app on this phone). It keeps reinstalling it self. It won't stay gone. What would be causing that? I wanted to move Chrome to SD so it doesn't take up space. But this particular phone won't let me.
Seems to happen with Polaris Office as well. Not a big deal at the moment. I can just freeze this app so it won't take up any CPU time/ram. Freezing it seems to work fine. Uninstalling it just results in it mysteriously reinstalling it self....
Does yours lose root after rebooting? I tried to run 'adb reboot recovery' for giggles and SuperSU no longer had root when it failed to start the local and booted normally.

If anyone has a Linux setup, we can compile our own TWRP. I found the kernel source earlier today: http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=NAME&search=Lgl15g

I have the Android SDK installed on my desktop but the TWRP porting guide by Dees_Troy is a little bit too vague for a first timer. I was able to extract the stock recovery using dd this afternoon.
I haven't tried to reboot mine into recovery mode. But root sticks when doing normal reboots.

That's really awesome! I'm looking forward to what you come up with. I'd be happy to send you some beer money for your efforts as well!

Hang on to that beer money for now, I am working on zeroing the /laf partition to gain access to fastboot hopefully this will work out, and we will have save and easy way to unlock the bootloader on phone to make it flashable

That's fantastic. If it would help, I have one of those variable resistor cables that some LG phone requires for supporting baseband or entering the bootloader.
This is the cable I have: http://m.ebay.com/itm/131321398015
It is described here as well: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069564
Hey all, I've tried to use various methods found here and elsewhere to root this tablet, with no luck.
I just got it from BB, and updated to the very latest (with Stagefright) ... now trying to use the Intel Flash Lite Tool with droidboot? FAIL Try using the Fastboot Tethered Recovery Launcher? FAIL
Did I screw myself by updating to the latest OS beforehand? Is there any way to get root now? Thanks all!
I had the exact same problem yesterday, and after a bunch of reading it's my understanding that there is no way at the moment to root an uprooted 7840 with the stage fright fix. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Hopefully someone will be able to figure out how to root this soon. It's a nice little tablet.
Having (successfully) gone through the anxious moments of removing root, downgrading, then restoring 5.1 to install the Stagefright fix, I would recommend that you seriously reconsider whether or not you absolutely need root. It's highly likely that any future patches, or even a possible Android v6 (?) upgrade, will not install if your device is rooted - so you'll have to wait until some kind soul finds a possible way to unroot.
as we have the possibility to unlock the bootloader since 5.1, there might be a good chance that a permanent CWM recovery (and therefore installing/uninstalling root with a few clicks) is possible. I've never compiled CWM before, but as there are plently of good tutorials and even a CWM builder tool,i'll give it a try the next days. Let's see how far we get.
The old tethered boot method won't work because you'd have to reverse to 5.01 droidboot and system.img for rooting, which would most likely mess up your system.
So is the consensus here that we can not root on the latest 5.1? Running the Intel phone flasher all it does it attempt to detect the device and fail. I only really need to root so I can adjust left/right audio balance since my hearing is a bit messed up so anything anyone can give me here would be appreciated.

There is a means of doing it, but you do not truly have all the pieces of the sg update. If you're adventuresome, it's fine. I'm looking at a couple of issues already. They're not show stoppers, but they wouldn't have happened.
As systemless root grows, that may be a future possibility as well.
Hello,
i know there is plenty of this kind of threads. But i really need simple guideline , already tested way to root this device. I have rooted couple phones, (note3, sonyz3, galaxy s4, etc), but never this model before, or any model where i have to touch the bootlocker.
So, this is now new to me and looks like there is too many way to do that, and it´s confusing. This girls is on fire, at least my brain are
The phone is my 12 years daughters phone, and my son has also this phone, and the internal memory is straight from a...
So i assume, only way to solve this is root the phone and use the external memory as internal memory, right?
And what about this, have you tried this, is it valid way ?
(Tried to put url, but i am newbie, so i can´t, but what i ment is one click root, is it even possible)?
Anyway, can someone please give me a hand and tell me easiest way. The way which working and tested
I´ll appreciate this very much.
Have a nice monday all of you.

this is a good tutorial https://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/guide-unlock-bootloader-twrp-touch-t3247939 for unlocking bootloader and flashing recovery
but rooting with an old version of su, you need to search for the newer su version, and beware, do not update su from Play Store
one more thing, you didn't mention Android version of your devices, settings-> about phone
for root you need a specific way for Android version Lollipop or Marshmallow
