EDGE is the best you'll be able to get with T-Mobile. Your international GS3 doesn't have the 1700MHz band needed for T-Mobile 4G.
Your options are to live with it, switch providers and go with AT&T or sell your GS3 and buy the T-Mobile version.
Bellow is a screen shot from wiki pediatrician for gt-i9300 base bands it includes all almost there must be a work arriund to get 4g

I would say wait few more months t-mobile already started rolling out H+ for 1900. So in few months we will be able to use high speed data

where did you hear that?
Sell it and get the t-mo gs3 version, you'll need 1700 mhz umts to be able to get the 3g (fake 4g) on t-mo. And this is hardware is no root or magic to change it!

I did notice that the phone was activated on 12/25/2013 so chances are I wont be able to do the unlock?
I am waiting for sprint to let ting.com activate my note and let them unlock it.

yeah but its been your phone since new right? This one I bought from another owner adn dont plan on using it with sprint
Idk if it can be unlocked for domestic use. Instead of taking the chance, buy a phone that's specifically meant for your carrier. You'll get maximum performance. I think you'd regret it if you got a sprint phone hoping it would work on tmo, no matter how sweet the "deal".
Sprint wont unlock it for international use.
So its up for sale on ebay
Ya seems sprint are being very bad pricks about unlocking these phones... They have the worst customer service I have ever talked to . I am a pc tech and have to be on hold all the time. And sprint by far take the cake on customer service
T-Mobile uses GSM still right? So even if it was Un lockable the phone would only work on a CDMA network.

That's pretty cool. I must be getting old. I need a blanket for my cold feet too. Ya see, back in the day before AT&T was a big mobile carrier they were called Cingular. Cingular used an antiquated GSM network that..... zzzz

It was a joke. And Bell South/Cincinnati Bell all the other Bell's were AT&T. Cingular had no part of AT&T until AT&T bought em up. I had to sell against all of them for Sprint, so I knew all about that. Would be nice to work for Cingular back then before the buy-out. Their sales reps were making $60 commission per line on a new contract. $30 on an upgrade. Most we ever made was in the month of December $12 for a new line, $7 upgrade. Made quite a bit when one of the first Sanyo flip camera phones came out. Think I sold 35 in one day working @ a mall kiosk.
Feel bad for the sales guys who had to feed their family on commission checks bc all of the commissioned sales reps were eventually done away with. The race was over and the American dream, you could argue, went away with it...
Ahh, satire. That's how life was back around the turn of the century. Gimme a break, I'm old!
I know someone was working on internationally unlocking the device without sprint. Doesnt look like they got it yet though.

I doubt internationally unlocking is possible, due to frequency issues as far as I know.

No LTE no matter what you do, the device is CDMA period! You can not change that, so yes, you can unlock, but chances are you will get 3g only!
Sorry...
Thanks
can the sprint note 2 be flashed to t-mobile?
No. T-moble is a GSM carrier. Sprint is CDMA the radios won't pick up each others signal
Sent from my SM-N900P using xda app-developers app
Yes they will as this is a world phone ie gsm too.... but sprint has to internationally unlock it and then you need to do the domestic unlock hack ... and before you waste my time responding again no the only way to have it unlocked is by sprint doing it ... they will not do it if it's a bad esn phone or if the phone doesn't meet certain criteria ....ie on a account for last 90 days etc

Hello guys
I'm from Europe, but I'm planning to get Samsung Galaxy NOTE 3 from USA.I have been reading a little bit on the forum on USA models. My friend can get me NOTE 3 from SPRINT carrier, for not much money..It has unlocked boot loader, not too late updates and I can use it here in Europe with European SIM card(I think). Other carriers have NOTE 3 (like VERIZON and AT&T) but with locked boot loader, and from I have read,VERIZON makes updates last on their phones....
Can you please tell me your personal experience with SPRINT'S version of NOTE 3,so I can decide whether to get it or look elsewhere?
And if you are asking why do I want to buy SAMSUNG NOTE 3 from USA and not from Europe, the answer is because I have someone over there ,who can get it much cheaper for me.
Is there a way to unlock the phone for free here on the forum and easily root it in some safe way?
And will it work on European frequencies including 3G and 4G ?
Thank you in advance
I'm pretty sure you can't just insert a European SIM card into it. It won't work. Can someone confirm this?

Sprint has to unlock it and it has to be on a sprint account for 90 days before they will
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
So then, maybe it is better to go with T-MOBILE's NOTE 3,instead of Sprint. If there is no possibility of unlocking the phone e.t.c..maybe then I will have problem with frequencies here in Europe as well....
so I just got my hands on a sprint LG g3 and on the box it says that it can be unlocked for GSM. is there any way to do this and bypass sprint unlock and get for me so that I can use my AT&T sim card in there?
try to edit the build.porp like g2

I would also be interested in how to accomplish this.
Unlock G3
What happens when you put a GSM Simcard ? As I know all should be GSM unlocked like my Verizon G2.

Verizon had to unlock them ....that was according to the fcc for some spectrum they got....Sprint does not have to unlock them and it will be much harder

Call Sprint and ask then to do it for you. They can do it remotely.

They would not unlock it if you paid full price from sprint either .....has to be on the account for 90 days ...and Bill has to be up to date etc ... they don't have to unlock it ... they do it only because some sprint people actually travel and it's nice to be able to pop a sim in ....vzw only had unlocked phones because they have to from fcc .... Maybe people should just buy a gsm phone if they want use it on gsm
Sent from my SM-N900P using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2
They also limit the number of phones you can unlock per year. I travel a lot and have a lot of phones so it's frustrating for people like me who like to use their CDMA phone as their int'l GSM phone as well...

I think you are just missing the point. It would be much more practical if every phone was unlocked for cdma or gsm use like the Nexus 5 is. I have a Nexus 5 I bought from Sprint and it runs on Att right out of the box. This is how all phones should be. I happen to have Sprint and Att accounts and its great to be able to swap phones between them without a huge hassle.

I am not missing the point this is a 600 dollar phone and these people want to get it cheap and unlock it instead of paying more for it .... it's people trying to rip off these companies ... the full price of this phone is right at 600 but you can get it with bad esn for like 200 ... it's just people being cheap
There are threads just like this on note 3 s4 S5 g2 etc for sprint all the same
The Nexus from Google was 400 to start out off contract
