I rooted my Z2 and lost DRM keys. One known side effect is to lose OTA updates. I'm just wondering if people have indeed updated the firmware from 17.1.A.1.2 to 17.1.A.2.55?

no OTA for me - could not find it on the phone but update via PC Companion.
No I just downloaded the FTF an used flashed tool. The update greatly improves the camera!

Keeping an eye on your flickr, then! Whats's the number of the new firmware?

To follow up on my original post. Having lost my DRM keys I was unable To OTA the update and also unable to update via the Bridge for Mac application. It notified me of the update but wouldn't proceed.
Lastly I flashed the ftf.
Has anyone noticed any lag? Most notably the pull down notification bar. It's more like a stuttering than lag.

No lag at all here.

Wow you unlocked your bootloader? so that means you will never be able to update it through PC Companion or OTA. You will have to re-lock the bootloader but it won't restore your TA partition. and the camera will not perform well under the low-light.

Camera is great under low light so far. Updating via flashtool is hardly a bother either. As far as I've read no one knows exactly the ramifications of unlocking the Z2 bootloader, only speculation based on the Z and Z1. I definitely don't see any problem with the camera and I had always turned off the Bravia Engine anyway.

VIA Mobile Xperia
A small firmware update has been certified by the PTCRB for the Xperia Z Ultra (C6802, C6833 and C6806). The new build number 14.1.B.1.532 is a minor revision over the previous update (14.1.B.1.526), which recently started rolling out.
Interestingly, it is the first firmware to be certified for the C6843 model of the Xperia Z Ultra. This may suggest a release soon, although we are unsure exactly which region this SKU will be targeted to.

Sent from my C6802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The SOD only kicked for me on the last 2 firms if I disable the Backlight Optimizations.
I flashed back to the .475...Easy and without anything to loose on a locked bootloader with Flashtools.
Best solution so far until Sony finds out what is wrong...
I guess we all have different hardware manufacturers.
Because not everyone have sods.
If you guys will report SOD issues on sony web site they will take this problem more seriously.
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-Ultra/bd-p/22069
Max reports more chance they will fix that fast.
Also after any software update you need to repair your phone with Sony Update Service. (That will help you "fully" clean your device. We all know what's happening when you installing new base on top of old. (Please remember dirty installation will result to many bags and old sod's even after latest update)
Stay tuned
Best Regards.
I just installed 532... from New Zealand and un-changed build.prop.
Never had the SOD and still don't have it. I like the different UI (opposed to my last firmware)
- Battery still the same
- Home screen transitions seem a little hesitant for me.. (anyone else?)
- Bluetooth 212 kb/s transfer speed... (used to cap at 202 kb/s on previous FW. Although that may just be coincidence)
- Nothing else noticeable here.

I know. Been looking for the update daily for about a week now. Nothing.
I dont really mind though.......I have an occasional wifi drop out on 290 but nothing else serious. Also with my ZU I have held back on root/unlocking bootloader just because............it kinda does everything well without root! I remember a video by Adrian that eventually android would get to such a stage that root wouldn't be needed anymore (apart from customization). Maybe we are seeing the first step of that with sonys firmware? Obviously touchwiz, sense etc are different but Sony is pretty close to stock.

There is no method of backing up the TA partition yet. You don't loose much by wiping the DRM keys though. The only thing that i noticed stopped working was the video unlimited service which most of us probably don't use anyway. X-Reality engine and camera keep working without DRM keys.

If you are talking about post with blue cigarette pack and blue monitor, then its quite obvious xreality is working, you have to be blind to not see that oversaturation
When you have a method for root access on a locked bootloader, I think it will be possible to backup

yes im talking about pics with cigarette packet and monitor, this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755893&page=3 page 3, post 28, as anyone can clearly see there is absolutely no difference in the first 2 pics (do note the blu in the title = bootloader unlocked) and then in the next 2 pics (please note the lb in the title for locked bootloader) there is clearly a difference.

Your notebook is fine, the effects of X-Reality can be seen on only Sony devices supporting the feature and only on Sony apps, such as Album and Movies. I am sure that I am correct in my presumption.
Either ways I personally do not care, care more audio output quality.

i am a samsung user,i want to jump on to sony xperia z2 coz im tired of that boring design of samsung and now when i was comparing a demo at the store,z2 superior auto is less sharp to samsung 16mp auto, but 20mp was better than samsung in sharpness, but there overall appearance is not as cool as superior auto, dont know why, maybe we got to adjust some settings,so why isnt sony giving that 20mp superior auto,i dont care if it take 10mb pics or 20mb pics,i got a 64gb sd card, why arent they giving us that option? what is the use of 20mp if it doesnt take good pics? not all are camera pros to adjust all the setting like iso and **** for diff shots for diff lighting conditions, will they make it auto in future updates? btw i dont want to root my device if i get z2 and use mods for that ****
