[Q] Xposed Framework & Z Ultra - Sony Xperia Z Ultra

Hi Guys,
I am thinking about installing the Xposed Framework and Modules on my Z Ultra.
Is it worth doing ?
I want to stay on stock SONY ROM (4.4.2).
How would I install and use Xposed ?
Do I need to unlock the bootloader ?
I know I will have to root,
Do I need to install a custom recovery ?
Backup ?
Anyone done all this/using Xposed on our beloved Z Ultra ?
If so, is it worth doing ?

Xposed is an awesome tool to have if you don't want to flash custom ROMs, so yes, I can easily recommend it. You just need to be rooted, and then you install it as a normal app.
Read the official Xposed Framework XDA thread if you're still unsure of what exactly it is and does.

Making the most of your G2 Mini without custom ROMS.

Hi guys, I have been browsing this forum looking for updates on the development for this phone over the last few months and unfortunately it seems pretty stale to be fair. We have achieved root which is a good stepping stone but there have been no attempts at new roms or modifications of any sort so I would like to give you what I have achieved with my G2 Mini.
- Installing xposed framework and using G2 TweaksBox to modify everything to how I like it. As the stock rom is closely based on the original G2, all of the modifications you make will be the same however I cannot get rid of the SIM switching bar in the notification panel
After making these changes my experience of this phone has been greatly improved. I hope this information can help some of you who are desperately looking to modify the ROM to your needs.
*NOTE - You must have rooted your G2 Mini to install xposed framework*
@Vagelis1608 has pointed out that xposed does not work on ART, my bad.
@Garcia98 is working on a custom recovery that will work on locked bootloaders.
Also, I thought that if someone installs xposed on ART, it will get reverted to Dalvik.
Can you confirm if you are actually running ART with xposed active?

Thanks, I did not realise about xposed reverting the phone back to dalvick until now.

The next xposed update should support ART.
So is it safe to root the G2 Mini using Towelroot and is it full root or just half root (they say there ia half root but I don't know what it is). And then after will be the installing of Xposed framework on the phone, is that correct? And then after that ia installing the G2 Tweakbox? All these are safe to install?

Yes, all of them are safe.
So you can go ahead and install them
But, as always, you are responsible for what you do with your device.

About xperia p optipizing, or installing android 4.4 or 5.0

Hello,
I was wondering I have xperia P with android 4.1.2.
Google maps for example is working a bit laggy on this phone can this be fixed?
Should I try installing a rom for android 4.4 or maybe 5.0?
I don't know wich one I need to install for best allround performance for this phone or is stockrom good enough??
Any idea guys?
I allready tried in the past some cyanide mod rom but my phone didn't boot anymore luckely I could let it work again with flashtool64
Any tips? Or can I just optimize this phone with special applications for rooted phones?
Greetings Avanox
In my opinion you should stay on stock rom. I have used both 4.4 and 5.1 but the stock 4.1.2 is most stable among them.
You should root your phone, make TA backup (in case you haven't unlocked bootloader in the past) then unlock bootloader.
Install Nemesis kernel.
Remove all unnecessary bloatwares.
Add these lines to build.prop
dalvik.vm.verify-bytecode=false
dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=v=n,o=v,m=y

Flash this zip https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByS_TYUaHe5SWi1HaE5qMUYwWVE/view?usp=docslist_api
Factory reset the phone.
My phone is allready rooted, and also unlocked.
Where can I install nemesis kernel??
I had an alternative app to remove bloatware ,
But what apps should I remove that are bloatware?
Oh and I have android 4.1.2 running on this phone.
What is this zip flash thing for??
Greetings Avanox

You can flash the kernel in fastboot mode from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...nel-nemesis-kernel-v6-3-revised-21-2-t2214141
Also you can use any root file manager to delete apps from the system partition of your phone. I'm using ES file manager 3.2.5.5 (old version) because the new version is bloated itself. I don't exactly remember how many app I have removed but after deleting them I have the following apps (attached in screenshots) in system/app. Note that there are three extra apps - ESExp.apk, CPU.apk, Superuser.apk. The first one is file manager app, the second one is No frills CPU control app, and the last is SuperSU. Also I have updated Play Store (Phonesky.apk) and Google Play Services (GmsCore.apk) to the versions 6.7.13.E-all and 9.0.82(034) respectively and moved it to the system replacing the older versions. You can find both on www.apkmirror.com. I have also deleted apps from system/etc/product and system/etc/customization.
The zip contains Xperia keyboard 6.4.A.1.44, Xperia Home launcher 5.1.A.0.20 and Dialer app without any lag.
You can find build.prop in /system/build.prop and edit with a text editor. Those lines will allow ported Keyboard and Dialer app to work without getting FC.

Z2 Custom ROM and apps (HELP) :)

Soo i have Z2 with stock rom,i now want to root it and install some custom rom....I need some advice whats the best right now custom rom with all features (Z2 camera mod tweaks, battery tweaks, audio boost...)
And i would like to have different UI i am bored of stock android And that have no bugs
I never rooted and all that more help the better What i need to do to get custom rom and all that
It's best to do some searches, get an idea of how to to root, what ROMs and mods there are. Then look for threads regarding what interests you and ask questions there.
Bear in mind there's less development now for the Z2.
Good luck

First of all you need to install latest official MM build, I assume you've alredy done that. So next step for root and recovery is in this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/tool-rooting-23-5-1-291-supersu-t3437280.When you get root and recovery you need to backup your TA partition bcs of DRM keys(use google about that). Guide is here https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../tutorial-backup-ta-partition-to-drm-t2234627 After that go to flashtool and follow process for unlocking bootloader. Now you can install custom kernel too. Only active thread with developers is https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/aosp-6-0-marshmallow-sony-xperia-z2-t3235951 and its very confusing but subscribe there and follow thread. I personally use stock rom with mods without xposed, and everything i have written you is from my personal experience about 2 month ago. So good luck, and if I helped you press thanks
Android 6.0.1 is on my Z2 D6503 and I know to root and unlock bootloader thats easy, but i need to know what to install after that ?

Every Stock modified rom supports any mod that you mentioned above ( some have it already pre-installed).
If you want to change the look on stock rom install xposed or flash mods like Pixel mod..
You dont need UB to install any mods, UB only to install Custom Roms like CM,Paranoid....

Yes you can
For looks some of them need debloat check before flashing it\
Camera audio mods, display mod, quick charge all can be flashed just with root and recovery.
Assuming your rom is Stock

Changing SystemUI

I have Xperia Z2 Tablet with Nougat 7.1 (LineageOS rom) and I was thinking about getting SystemUI.apk from Z4 Tablet.
I have read few threads with custom SystemUI mods, and I think I know the procedure to do this, but I'm worried that I will mess up my rom.
Is it even possible to make switch like that? Will it work? Can I just replace the apk and hope it will work?

You can try..but it's fairly likely it won't work. Installing a system app from another phone requires a fair amount of work. You have to edit the app to make sure it works properly. Especially if it's from another type of rom.
You may be better off trying to port those features you like from the app instead.
