Very Frequent Crashes/Lockups - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,
I have a SGS3 and some major issues with it crashing every 5-10 minutes. It gets unresponsive and the screen goes black. Usually the little led keeps flashing if I have unread messages. I also have severe battery usage and the phone goes empty in 3-4 hours during moderate use while I'm in school and checking it inbetween classes.
It's rooted with Cyanogen 10.1.3-RC2-i9300.

Should I revert back to Stock rom? I'ts been a while since I flashed the phone. If I don't have a backup of my old rom, just the user folders (I believe I need a nandroid backup?) what do I do?

Factory reset and flash the latest stock firmware for your country. Test before you add or restore anything.

Smasung Galaxy S2 goes into sleep

Hi
I purchased SGS2 in dec 2012. It came with Android 4.0.4 version. Now I m facing the problem
of SOD. The phone goes to sleep mode randomly and doesn't wake up till it is not restarted.
Today it went to sleep when i was making a call. I heard somewhere that it is because of 2
instances of clock in ICS4.0.4 version. I also disabled one of the instance, cleared the
data of second instance and rebooted the phone. For few days it worked fine but again the
problem has started. It is quite irritating.
Now I had even done done the factory reset with complete wipe option.

S2 going to sleep - fixed
I narrowed it down to a glitch in one of my apps. For me it was "Go theme". Once I removed it, the phone has been problem free so far for 3 mos. I hope they fix it, because I miss it, especially the pop-up sms. lol

I have had this delivered from DHGate today. I have NOT flashed it, rooted it or anything. Its as it came out of the box!
I set up the phone from scratch logging on to my network, setting up Google and as soon as it says the phone is ready to use, the phone j reboots, and reboots over and over and over.I have been through this 5 times now each time doing a hard reset and trying again.
It also reboots when recieving a call or an SMS.
if I skip the Google Set Up, and Do not connect to wifi or have a SIM card in and skip through all the set up steps till I get to the home screen it works fine and does not crash and go through the reboot cycle.
So basically i have found it crashes after attempting to log into Google Accounts like Playstore, Gmail and the like.
It crashes when receiving an SMS or a Phone Call.
I dont want to send it back if possible, just make it work with a different OS or ROM to fix it. Either another 4.2.1 or 4.2.2.
Is there anyone that can help at all? I would be so thankful!
It seems that I may not have charged the battery up long enough for the initial charge.. The seller suggested 8hours so going to go for 12 or 13 hours charge and see what that does.

HELP! Samsung SIII LTE - unstable issues no matter what kernel or ROM

Hey guys...
First time poster on here and after some BIG help... any will be useful and i thank you in advance for taking the time...
Ok without writing a novel i will give as much information as i can without beating around the bush. Then followed by details on the phone.
Issue:
So no matter what kernel or ROM & apps (or no apps) i put on this phone it is always unstable and reboots itself. Some ROMS doesn't even load.
The phone has been rooted correctly 'used the samsung root tool kit' with the correct one for the phone Australia i9305 LTE version.
I used to have rXTREME 7 which was OK - it rebooted maybe 3-5 times a day if i was frequently using it, but annoying.
I tried the rXTREME12.1 installed fine, the phone was restored to default, Xache & Davik Cache where all cleared and installed rom on fresh system however it would just hang on the Samsung logo... and do nothing.. i have also tried the CyanogenMod and Paranoidandroid 3.97 halo ROM's and they wouldn't load....
Currently i have Ripper Rom and it works however whenever i try and do ANYTHING it reboots itself... i will be lucky to get a good 2mins of it working correclty without it having to reboot... So far this morning it has rebooted about 31 times (no joke i have been counting) just trying to access my email... Not matter what i do, replaying to MSG's trying to answer the phone (swipe just doesn't work) or it will just reboot itself...
In saying this i have also tried to unroot the phone and installed the standard OPTUS rom and it was also so unstable it would do the same thing, however would wipe any information i had put on the phone... apps, data, contacts...
Details on the Phone:

Again please help!!! i am at at a end and want to smash the phone to peices.........
Thanks in Advance for any help or advice!
Best report your post and ask for it to be moved into the i9305 q&a forum, you're more likely to get a reply there.
As said wrong forum this is I9300 .
That begs the question are you flashing the wrong firmware .

[Q] Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped.

Hello.
I got my SGS4 GT-I9500 around 3 days ago, and has been working fine; downloading apps, and browsing, etc... Today, however, all of a sudden
After going into recovery mode (Getting the Media Tek logo.) Every time I start my SGS4, I get the aforementioned error. I have tried almost
Everything, and been googling for 3 hours now. I have tried Cache wipe, wipe data/factory reset eMMc wipe, resetting to factory, formatting my Mini
SDs, and nothing worked. Also, a strange thing happened, my SGS4 used to show "Samsung" logo when booting, but now, it shows Media Tek l
Loading.. followed by immediately "android" writing.
Thank you.

I think you might have flashed a rom for another device since the s4 doesn't have a mediatek on board (aka your screwed)

Thank you for your reply. I'm pretty sure that I didn't flash a rom, because; I had to google how to do that, and from the looks of it, I didn't ?
Also, is there any solution, assuming it is on the wrong rom ? I believe this problem started happening while attempting to Root it, in which I stopped at the 2nd step, which is the Vol v + Power +- Home.
Thank you.

mm try flashing your stock rom through odin
Post the method you used here because usually for root you don't have to use that combo. And they probably don't know how to use odin since they're new.

Actually can you take a picture of your problem, I don't think you're describing it properly

[Q] Unable to retreieve OTA update?

Hello,
I received a message when I was at work yesterday that an OTA was available. I had previously rooted the phone, but never really used any root functionality and wasn't too concerned about keeping it. After the update was downloaded and the phone rebooted I was stuck at the "downloading don't turn off target". It has the odin label in the type left by the way. Somehow I significantly screwed things up and the only way I was able to get the fun functional again was to run the Samsung repair assistant (which worked fine).
I am curious to know if I am actually am at the latest rev. of firmware / rom. Here is my "about" tab.
