Hello,
I received a message when I was at work yesterday that an OTA was available. I had previously rooted the phone, but never really used any root functionality and wasn't too concerned about keeping it. After the update was downloaded and the phone rebooted I was stuck at the "downloading don't turn off target". It has the odin label in the type left by the way. Somehow I significantly screwed things up and the only way I was able to get the fun functional again was to run the Samsung repair assistant (which worked fine).
I am curious to know if I am actually am at the latest rev. of firmware / rom. Here is my "about" tab.

Hi
I purchased SGS2 in dec 2012. It came with Android 4.0.4 version. Now I m facing the problem
of SOD. The phone goes to sleep mode randomly and doesn't wake up till it is not restarted.
Today it went to sleep when i was making a call. I heard somewhere that it is because of 2
instances of clock in ICS4.0.4 version. I also disabled one of the instance, cleared the
data of second instance and rebooted the phone. For few days it worked fine but again the
problem has started. It is quite irritating.
Now I had even done done the factory reset with complete wipe option.
Other related Details are :
Model No. GT-I9100

S2 going to sleep - fixed
I narrowed it down to a glitch in one of my apps. For me it was "Go theme". Once I removed it, the phone has been problem free so far for 3 mos. I hope they fix it, because I miss it, especially the pop-up sms. lol
ok i rooted and went with Cyanogen mod 10.1 and it didnt work for me ...missed a bunch of stuff and couldnt use my headset with the phone
i tried going back to stock by using odin and followed this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301259
no luck my LTE only turned on when i checked for updates...aside from that it dosnt work even on the restore as new option ...i feel so helpless, ive tried rebooting, powering off, safe mode...
It simply dosnt work and the only way i figured it did worked was going to About Phone /Software Update and then when it checks it turns on the LTE send signal up and down and states there are no new updates then dissapears leaving me without internet
everything else on the phone works perfectly
no 3g either...no data period....
Is there a way to turn it on in a hidden menu? or am i done for :crying:

Yes got into connections then more networks then mobile networks then click on network mode. Change the network mode to CDMA/LTE/EVDO and you're good to go!
Greetings!
I bought a galaxy S III i9300 since November and just started to have some problem since a month.
The microphone sensitivity keeps getting lower and lower, to such an extend that now, event if I yell on the phone, almost nobody is able to hear me.
The phone has been root for some times, and I installed android revolution HD 28 (android 4.1.2).
I tried a few things:
* Skip to others roms (android revolution hd 33, CM10...) before returning on arhd 28. Without success.
* Typed this: *#0002*28346#: MMI Code invalid.
* I flashed the kernel with siyah then installed stweaks - There is no options to configure the micro... (Even so I followed a lot of tutorials)
So I just wanted to know if there was a solution to boost the micro sensitivity
I thanks you in advance for any answer you can have and I apologies for my poor English, tried the best I could but I'm not a native English speaker at all :/
flash a stock ROM, factory reset
Thanks for your answer!
I'm so sorry for taking this long to write you back, I was being busy trying to flash my android kernel with my Linux computer
And I just finally succeeded
Nevertheless, the micro still doesn't work, and it may be worse than before: Now, even when I scream nobody hear a sound.
It's look like the micro is disabled, do you have any tips on how could I check its still works?
For more information, I flashed my phone using Heimdall flasher 0.0.5, which is an odin emulator for Linux. Then I went on recovery mode and selected:
* wipe data/factory reset
* wipe cache partition
And here are the new parameters about my phone:
Model number: GT-I9300
Android version: 4.1.2
Bandebase version:
I9300BUEMF2
Kernel Version:
3.0.31-1287119 [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Jun 28 00:40:06 KST 2013

If you are back to fully stock, with no mods, then looks like hardware fault -have you got the phone wet at any point?
I don't think you can even test the microphone using voice recorder or video, as these use the other microphone (maybe check if video is recording on stereo?)
Maybe try a device test app from the play store before you return it service centre.
Hi! Nop, it has never been wet, im very carreful with it.
I tested the micro with the the voice recorder app, it didn't work neither.
I will try to send it back to samsung center tonight, I hope it won't take so long :/

Trying to update Firmware with KIES, but it says that "THIS DEVICES FIRMWARE CANNOT BE UPDATED WITH KIES" ...:good:
Asking the Samsung support, which wasnt helpful at all and said to send it to a repair center, which is not a really good option.

Dear Galaxy user,
I had the same problem and finally I got it solved.
I took a 2kg hammer, smashed it to pieces and I got iPad air instead !!! Works perfect
Hey everyone,
I have a SGS3 and some major issues with it crashing every 5-10 minutes. It gets unresponsive and the screen goes black. Usually the little led keeps flashing if I have unread messages. I also have severe battery usage and the phone goes empty in 3-4 hours during moderate use while I'm in school and checking it inbetween classes.
It's rooted with Cyanogen 10.1.3-RC2-i9300.

Should I revert back to Stock rom? I'ts been a while since I flashed the phone. If I don't have a backup of my old rom, just the user folders (I believe I need a nandroid backup?) what do I do?
Factory reset and flash the latest stock firmware for your country. Test before you add or restore anything.
