how can i unlock the htc one without the simcard?
I have the phone, and the bootloader is unlocked and s-off running twrp (android version 4.4.2)
Is it even possible to do it without the simcard? i mean i know its been done on other phones with out the use of an unlock code.

If the bootloader shows to be unlocked, then the phone is unlocked? Now if you want to unlock the SIM, then you will need the SIM from the other provider otherwise the phone will not ask you to enter the unlock code. There is no other way to get it to ask for a SIM code.

Hi all,
I used Davinci sim-unlock (now called 4SE) and it asked if I wanted to unlock the bootloader as well, I said yes.
I know know that this method is a patch not a real unlock. The sim is unlocked and that's fine.
If I try to unlock the bootloader using flashtool / similar method, will that restore the simlock on my phone? The phone did originally have a sim network lock. Some methods do seem to relock this and some don't, I don't know in my case. (the official Sony method doesn't work, it thinks it's unlocked already because of the patch and the relock option doesn't work either)
Thanks
i got my Atrix 4G from Egypt
it is sim unlocked so works with any sim card
I already rooted it but i want to check whether the bootloader is unlocked or not
is there a way to know this? or should i just go ahead and unlock it anyway
Hello everyone. I just purchased an HTC One on AT&T. I want to root it, which from everything I have heard, means that I have to unlock the bootloader. I have no interest in flashing custom ROMS, I just want to use root apps like Titanium Backup and Wireless tether. If anyone knows about an exploit that allows for root without bootloader unlock, please let me know.
I also want to unlock the SIM/carrier lock via an unlock code. What I want to know is:
Should I do the SIM unlock first, then the bootloader unlock? Or the other way around?
Once the SIM/carrier lock is removed, will the bootloader unlock process have any effect on it?
Thank you,
Nick
Motochopper supposedly will root without bootloader unlock. Revone will grant s-off, allowing bootloader unlock without involving Htcdev. Sim unlock is unrelated and not affected by any of this.
hi! is there any way to unlock my bootloader even if the rooting status bootloader unlock allowed says no...? thanks in advance...
Simple answer: no. If it's a must-have, go return it and buy one off-contract.
It is possible that in the future, someone will find an exploit to unlock the bootloader, or at the very least, do something similar to Loki on the Galaxy S4 (get custom ROMs/etc without an unlocked bootloader).
Sure sucks.

I bought one Factory Unlocked without ever being on a contract and it also tells me no, so it looks like it's not possible to unlock the boot loader on any American model.
I just got a new Tmobile LG V20 H918TN and haven't unlocked the sim yet.
Can I proceed with unlocking the bootloader and rooting the phone before unlocking the sim or does that need to be done first?
SIM unlock has nothing to do with bootloader unlock or root. You can do that without SIM unlocking.

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly. I figured that was the case, but better to be safe than sorry. In the past, when I rooted my phones, they were always old enough that the sim was already unlocked. This phone is so new that I can't unlock the sim without paying for it. I only need to wait about a month to be able to do that, but I wanted to unlock the bootloader and root my phone right away. I appreciate all the effort and work that this website provides. Cheers!
