I have installed the latest Beta on my TV Player which uses the Rockchip RK3188. 2GB DDR3 with 8 GB Flash It is currently hooked to a 1080P monitor and the Google TV OS shows resolution is set to 1080P but in XBMC the arrows to change the resolution are not grayed out but it wont change from just below 720P.
I have successfully played videos at the 1080P resolution using the video player in Google TV. My test video is a 11Gig MP4 Blu-Ray rip of Avatar. Any help getting the resolution to 1080P in XBMC would be appreciated.

Hi!
I am trying to play mp4 movie with HTC player + TV OUT Cable, but the picture on my TV is not in the same ratio. The resolution of the movie is changed do 640 instead 800
Has anyone any idea, how to fix that, so I could watch movies on my TV with original Ratio?
Is it in the build.prop script? What is the switch command to enable it?
Thanks!
VEGAn-Tab 5.1.1 has it enabled, its the Gingerbread roms that have issues AFAIK.

I have VEGAn-Tab 5.1.1 installed and I don't know that hardware decoding is really working. I have an MKV file (720p) with the following stats that plays quite choppy:
Video: H.264/MPEG-4 Part 10 (AVC), 3482 kb/s
Resolution: 1280x720
Audio: AC3, 384 kb/s
First off, Meridian won't handle AC3 sound (and the video is still choppy). Arcmedia does handle AC3 sound, but the video is even choppier than playing in Meridian.
What gives? I thought this thing could play back 1080p with no issues, let alone 720p. Divx plays fine, but that's not what I bought this thing for...
Any ideas?

See Roebeet's post regarding Tegra 2 limitation.
And for the record the advertised 1080p playback was through a dock and hdmi cable to a 1080p display, not on the 1024x600 display built in.
This tablet lacks the power I personally expected, but at the right bitrate you can still get a movie that maxes the resolution of the screen, plays smoothly and still retains HD detail.
Hello guyz, I own a sony xperia tablet S and I am streaming HD mkv's from Home NAS, but most videos (both 1080p and 720p) stutter a lot. This can't be a network issue, since my android TV stick (wich is dual core instead of quad core) plays the same files from the same NAS very well (especially the 720p ones).. I play them with MX player (default settings, havent changed anything) through Mizuu..
Does anyone have the same problem?
Thank you

You have the MX player codec for ARM v7 NEON installed right? That might help
Yes i have ARMv7 NEON codec installed (set in Custom codec field)
But still the same stutter..
Do 720p/1080p movies play without problems to you? (network stream)
what should my settings in Decoder Tab (h/w, h/w+, s/w etc.)be in MX Player?
thank you
I use BS player and don't have such issues

I would put it to H/W+. Keep in mind that I have a Tablet S, not an Xperia Tablet S. I haven't tried a network stream before. Do videos run fine from an SD card? 720p runs fine on my tablet through the SD card (class 10 32 GB btw, class 4 is slower, but idk if it would make a difference)
Hi,
I am owner of a Sony Xperia Tablet S with a docking station(using to connect to a TV through HDMI cabel). When I connect the tablet to my TV(Samsung 1080P) It is only recognized as 720P device. That's probably OK, but when I play 1080P movie It should change to 1080P video resolution but it doesn't happen. I tried to search for a HDMI output setting in the tablet but there is no such thing, I also tried several video players, even to play exact resolution size video - 1920x1080 no change... still only 720P. And to be honest 720P doesn't look very brilliant from this tablet. I hoped to use the tablet as some kind of "all round video player".
Is there any way that I can convince the tablet to play videos in 1080P/Full HD? Any idea how to resize HDMI output resolution?
I know that it is mirroring my device, but even though it should automatically resize when playing full HD movies. (Saw it on couple of videos, where it does really work. The TV shows 1080P videos and the devices screen stays black, I guess because of their lower resolution, but that's OK.)
Is it possible to send a 1080p picture and subtitles through Miracast to an HDMI dongle?
I have a tolino 8.9 tablet (Jelly Bean 4.2.2, 1920x1200 screen). As all JB and later devices, it doesn't send a full 1080p video but rather a squeezed 1920x1200 that as a result is something more like 720p. I'd much prefer to get a full 1080p video. Is Miracast an option here? I need both 1080p and subtitle support.
