At&t logo on back - AT&T HTC One (M8)

Has anyone found a way to get rid of the At&t logo off of the back of the phone?
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using xda app-developers app

I believe it's etched in the metal, so you can't remove it. There was a person in the VZW forums that asked the same question, and they concluded that you're stuck with the godaweful logos, lol.

I don't mind ATT's branding on their new phones. Just the small ATT logo isn't too intrusive. Of course I would prefer the no branding at all that Sprint is doing on all their phones and Tmobile is doing on some of their phones, but if it has to be there I would take ATT's approach to device branding any day over Verizon's terrible branding. They plaster their giant logo + 4G LTE like that is a feature anymore on every phone.

Yeah, as far as logos go the AT&T one really isn't offensive.

what about a alcohol cleaning pads?

Yeah it's gonna be pretty hard to get rid of it. Regardless its so small that its not intrusive IMO.

Don't want to try, it might ruin the metal itself?

[Q] I'm selling my Thunderbolt, un-root or leave rooted?

I'm thinking I might be forced to sell my HTC Thunderbolt. Right now I am running the latest BAMF 2.1, and my question is, can I sell my phone and be able to meet someone at a Verizon Wireless and have the rooted Gingerbread Tbolt activated to whoever the buyer will be? Or do I need to flash back to bone stock unrooted 2.2? I'm hoping to leave it as is and just do a data wipe so that perhaps mine will have a little bit of an edge over the other phones I'm seeing posted now. I hate to sell it but times are tough. Thanks for any advice! -Phil
Most of the phones I have sold I have left rooted

Cool, well I guess its worth a shot... I guess I'm overthinking it but I was concerned about reactivating the phone if it is on the GB radio and running a completely un-factory rom... Paranoia I guess

To be honest most reps who set it up won't even notice and if they just do the *228 the computer system won't even be able to tell I used to work at Verizon and did this all the time

I'd leave it as is, custom rom & all. Whoever buys it will most likely appreciate it. If they've had a rooted HTC before, they can figure out how to swap roms/radios.

Grounding the contact just forces the phone into download mode so they can unlock it. The only other way to get there (that I know of) is to softbrick the phone by breaking the hboot signature.
Damn. People had to get really clever to get to that. That's amazing. Hopefully our way forward will be simpler and safer. I'll bet many people traded the the rezound for something simpler to S-off

The reason they passed on it is that it is too similar to the DNA. HTC and Verizon didn't want it to steal the DNA's spotlight.

That and Verizon is stupid. Why cant the carriers just provide service and leave the hardware part to manufactures? No Verizon thinks its Droid phones are great and have separate phones made for them apart from the world. Mindless morons.
Does anyone knows how much the phone will cost outright on AT&T or T-Mobile? If the price is the same as the European counterparts, I would just rather by from a reseller since it would be unlocked.

[Q] If the Beats logo is easy to rub off...wouldn't the AT&T logo be the same?

I'm asking because I've seen many people post pictures showing their One with the Beats logo starting to wear off. The AT&T logo seems to be put on the exact same way, so couldn't we possibly find a way to purposefully wear it off?

I'd understand wanting to remove a logo if it was huge and obnoxious and on the front of a phone, but a barely visible tiny logo on the back?
I'm ok to leave it be.
Exactly the logo is really small. It's very non obtrusive unlike most of the logo At&t put on phone which are usually right on the top part of the glass which is really ugly. We got lucky this time around.

Not worried about either logo on the back. I don't spend a lot of time staring at the back of any phone I've ever owned. I find most of a phone's usefulness on the front screen.
The reason you're able to remove the beats logo is because it's painted. The "audio" lettering is engraved. The att logo is engraved too. Just in a different way.
