Hey, so in one of the launchers i used previously ( I think Nova, not too sure) There was a folder feature which allowed me to scroll inside a folder as if it was a homescreen, thus enabling me to put more than the current default amount of apps which is 16 on the Google Now Launcher which I currently use.
I was wondering if this feature was available through a mod (xposed) or if there was an app which would enable me to do so??
Im currently using a Moto G XT1032 running the stock Motorola 4.4.2 with the Google Now launcher on top of it. It is rooted with the Xposed Framework enabled. Although Gravitybox has a lot of features, it doesnt have this
I'd appreciate any help
thanks in advance

Dear all,
I love the way LG stock rom devides apps in to default ones and Downloads. Moreover, it allows creating new categories to better organize apps. However, no custom rom (void, prime, lol,...) has this useful ability.
Do u know how to get this? Which app can help with the same need?
The LG Home app recognizes 2 categories by default, but additional categories may be added. And ones from the first category can be moved to the second and so on. The only thing special about the "APPLICATIONS" category in the stock launcher includes all apps from the /system/app/ directory.
With Zeam, GO, ADW, Panda, Better Home and LauncherPro (I don't know of other launchers...) it is possible to create categories and organise apps the same way as in the stock home app. But system apps are by default not seperate from the user applications in the app drawer.
If you want the stock launcher app, just copy it from your stock ROM - "/system/app/LGHome.apk". Then you are free to place it on any ROM of your choice (Simply install the package or copy it to the /system/app/ directory).

How do you do this? I've been using LP Plus for 2 weeks and I've pretty much gone through all the possible settings from the preference page and I couldn't find anything about it there.

i would like to know this too so i can create category for my downloaded apps and preinstalled apps
Many launchers come with this function. Just try them. If you have an Android phone and you haven't yet tried all the launchers, it's weird. I bet 99% people have tried all launchers.

Hi,
I have searched around but could not find any ans but have similar threads >(http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583934)
I am looking for an alternative to GO launcher.I have not upgraded my GO launcher since 3.11 due to bloatware.I would like to ask is there any launcher that allows custom sorting of apps inside the folder? For eg i have created a folder called Games in the app drawer and would like to custom the games sort them instead alphabetical order. From my understanding,Nova is only not able to do so?
use next launcher, its bloatware free but very costly
Thanks.I will try the lite version first. So only launchers developed by GO-devs are able to do that?
Here are some apps which will make your phone look like a Windows Phone.
Apps will work for both rooted and non-rooted devices as well.
Just download and install all apps in the attachments.
After installing all apps, go to settings>accessibility and then enable an option related to statusbar of Launcher 8
Take time to explore all the features of apps
Note: Launcher 8 is NOT so memory efficient but it is smooth itself 107 9954

Nice work bro
I wanted to install and use the Google Now Launcher in my Moto E... But the fact is, After I set it all up, I have noticed 2 things:
a) It takes up a huge amount of RAM
b) The transition from the app drawer to the Home Screen is really, really choppy (laggy)
My question is : Is this a problem with my device or some problem related to the launcher itself?
(I have also used the Nova, Aviate and Apex Launchers before... But they have all been smooth like the stock Launcher)

Install Link2SD app and move some apps to the SDCARD to free up space, then install the google launcher now, I did it and ran well, to make this you need rooted.
Google Search version 4.0 doesn't have this issue, as the transition from home screen to app drawer and vice versa is smooth. But the only catch is that, as Google Search version 4.0 is only released with Lollipop, installing it in 4.4 unrooted ROMs would make your OK Google search hotword not working anymore. So have to disable OK Google hotword or it keeps crashing. If you don't mind that, then its a prefect launcher.

ya those transitions are really laggy..but those will be fixed in lollipop.!
BUT WHERE IS THAT UPDATE MANNN..!!AM FRUSTRATED NOW
I am downloading Google Search v4... along with the L Launcher...
But the catch is, my phone is not rooted...
So I'll try and disable "Ok Google" and find out.
Thanks everyone
I am using google now launcher w/o OK google and average 450 mb free ram.No lags.
I have an HTC One M8 (At&T), im rooted with a sense 7 Rom (TWRP Recovery) and i love sense except for one thing... the folders. I just find them to be very ugly (and they do open a little slow but thats unimportant) and i want to change them to have the folder preview as a "line" (where the apps are stacked behind eachother) and a more opaque look. I have already tried Simi Folder and Folder organizer and a few others. I want the look from the stock android lollipop folders, so maybe there is a way to just transfer that setting from a launcher or something? Please help
So, you want the keep HTC launcher ? If not, download GEL then xposed framework, and the XGELs module. Nova and Apex cost money to use folder features. Hope this helps
