Hi there,i'm new with android stuff and i need someone who can explain me how can i put .obb files in DEVICE MEMORY.
Some of the games for example have that extension .obb,i understand that needs to be placed in internal memory \Android\Data\Obb and then install that .apk file.
My problem?! i cant acces DEVICE MEMORY(2Gb) , i only can on INTERNAL MEMORY(16Gb).
Sony xperia P (LT22i)
Build number 6.2.A.1.100
I have rooted my phone and updated to 4.1.2
I use AP file Manager Pro.
If someone can explain me step by step i will be much grateful.

But you answered your question yourself, you need to put the .OBB file in android\data\obb folder of your phone memory, and best use a computer to do this, or ES files explorer

I cannot copy .obb file from my pc to that directory,he gave me an error like i dont have permision(i have rooted my phone)
I tried to copy with file manager from sd card to that directory and said that is already one file with that name already...:crying:
Obb files are placed in Android/obb in internal memory (or sdcard if your phone has one).
Buy the game. read xda rules about pirate copies of apps/games

ASEC containers are partition images anyway, if you have the actual app already installed move it back to /data using Link2SD then it will have files in the standard locations (/data/app, /data/data, /sdcard/Android)... but then OBB always goes to media partition IIRC

I haven't tried asphalt, but if the app was dl'd through play store, shouldn't the obb file be already in the correct location? (sdcard/Android/(file folder)/.obb file)? Now I understand op is trying to move files from PC to phone. Even if he moved the apk to /data/app or install it the location of the .obb file will not change. Regardless of the apk being installed or not, unless he downloads it through the app, which is not the case. He needs to copy it in the correct location.

I have a Sony Xperia J, and the performance and among others are excellent, but I have a problem due to my own stupidity in using others product memory card loader and screw-up the whole system.
Basically I didn't brick my device it still boot perfectly but the problem is, after boot-up it will shows the error message "Unfortunately, com.sonyericsson.usbux has stopped" = PC can't recognize my device anymor and my device won't recognize the internal and external card anymore.
Is there anyone can help me step by step on how to edit the '\system\ect\vold.fstab' and replace the content of that file, then I think this will solve the problem.
The problem arise when I replaced the file '\system\ect\vold.fstab' with froyo edited version.

You should try replacing the vold.fstab with the stock one. Extract it from a stock ftf for your phone

I have the stock vold.fstab, I've backed up but I can't replace the file cause the \System\ect\ folder are read only and I can't even copy the stock vold.fstab into my device. Any suggestion on how to copy the stock vold.fstab back to the \system\ect\?
Thanks in advance.

For your info 'SOLID EXPLORER' does not have any root access and cannot edit protected folder file so can't do anything, but anyhow I've send back my device to Sony Center for RMA and just get back a new replacement, thanks for the reply anyway.
For an advice, next time anyone that wanted to edit or replace the vold.fstab file, copy to root and rename it to vold.fstab.bak so that if you screw up you still can use the root explorer to copy it back to the /system/ect/ folder.

Now I have a much safer solution for this, I use 2 apps(DirectoryBind and Link2SD both need root access) in order to achieve everything.
1. Partition your External SD Card for use with Link2SD(for my case I'm using a 16gb Class 10 SD Card 1st partition takes whatever space and
leave 1gb for 2nd Partition Primary and format = FAT32)
2. Install Link2SD(from PlayStore) and assign the 2nd partition(make sure you have root access).
3. Check the Auto Link in Link2SD Preference
4. Select External in Install Location(Link2SD)
5. Install DirectoryBind,
6. Create a folder name Bind(or whatever you like to call it) for placing all the bind folders.
7. Create a another folder called 'android' inside 'Bind' folder eg:- /Bind/android/ (for PlayStore Apps Data)
8. Create another folder called 'Gameloft' (if you intended to install gameloft games) and create another 'Gameloft' folder in Internal Storage
9. Now add the External SD Card /Bind/android/ to Source (Data) Path at DirectoryBind and Internal Storage Android /SDCard/android/ to
Mount (target) path, check the 'Transfer files from target to data' (if the source android folder isn't empty) and press Add.
10. Do step 9 with Gameloft folder
11. Select Bind all checked to activate
12. Do the same step 9 for all others apps that create own forlder in internal storage such as Sygic create 'Aura' Folder in your internal storage.
Now you are done and any apps from Playstore or Gameloft the default apps will be linked(placed) in Ext SD Card 2nd partition and Data to Ext SD Card Bind folder
Have fun!!!!!

Simply goto sdcard/android/then you should see folder named data.
Also there should be a folder called obb.
If you dont see that folder then just create one and you place the .obb file in that folder

i have the same problem.. so this occurs in version 4.2.1? My galaxy s4 gives me error also transfer files from pc to /sd/android/obb. The only way for you to by modify the permission of this file is to root the phone and use AntTek explorer.
Actually, in 4.2 JB, the multiuser directory structures make it different.
The obb info now has a folder outside of the /storage/emulated/sdcard0/0/Android/obb folder.
using a root enabled explorer, navigate to /data/media/obb , and paste the contents there.

I Got a Problem here, Where I Tried The Method using the File Explorer to move the files, It Works But The Game Isn't Running.. It fade out instead of running the game.. I'm using Galaxy SIII 4.2.2 Leak..
I did all the steps on my htc one android 4.3 ( unrooted device) when i run the game it asks to download the file. does anyone know why its not working on my phone? do i need to root
It must go on internal sdcard. For example, for Layton Brothers Mystery Room it goes like that:
Code:
/storage/sdcard0/Android/obb/com.Level_5.MysteryRoomENG/main.6.com.Level_5.MysteryRoomENG.obb

I got a fix...! U can install OBB directly from PC into sdcard..! ***WORKING 100%***
You need a rooted phone with FolderMount installed in it : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
First copy the APK in phone and install it..... Don't run the game now..... Then later copy the name of the obb folder like.. : for asphalt 8 it is : com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM
copy the name title of folder...
go to phone memory's Android/obb folder and create a folder of the same name...
you now have a folder in phone memory's OBB as com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM
Dont copy your data yet...
Go to foldermount and click the ""+"" icon over and insert some name for the pair... Then go in source directory and just select the "android/obb/com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftA8HM" directory..
when the next dialog appears click YES..!
DO NOT MOUNT THE FOLDER YET....
Now copy the data file into the folder.... after finishing the copying... Mount the folder and run the game :good::good::good: You did it....
CAREFUL: DO NOT INSTALL GaME AFTER COPYING THE DATA coz the game installer erases the data..!
Please press thanks as this method works... If you need any assistance then I will be uploading a video shortly..!

Hi, does anyone know how to edit Android/Data and Android/OBB folder?
I can't move any files to those folders and I can't edit the contents even rename it too.
It was just fine when I'm on OneUI 3. After I update it to OneUI 4, which is Android 12, those folders completely uneditable.
I CAN still access it, I just CAN'T edit the inside of those folders.
not sure what folder you are referring to, but you can reproduce the issue and submit error to samsung members app > get help > error report.
Samsung should be able to confirm what the issue is. Hope this helps.

I've tried this.
The thing is, I can access the OBB and Data folders but I cannot edit the contents inside of it. So I can't rename or add anything inside those folders..
Try TotalCommander file manager.
