Looking for Older HTC Sync Manager installer/Rezound drivers - HTC Rezound

So I'm troubleshooting an issue I'm having with a nonbooting Rezound. Long story short, the battery ran down while in recovery (Philz Touch) and now it won't boot into ROM, bootloader, or recovery. I can't get the charging light to come on for more than a few medium flashes and one long flash when plugged in (wall, usb, 24+ hours). I can't even get it recognized on usb with the battery pulled and the "adb devices" command. I plug it in and I hear the usb connection sound but my computer shows an error for ADR6425lwv in device manager and tells me the driver isn't installed/needed which I suspect is the problem.
I recently uninstalled all things HTC to S-off my new One M8 (per firewater instructions) and now that I'm having these problems with drivers I want to reinstall HTC Sync for the drivers. However, I see that the Rezound is conspicuously missing from the list of supported devices on the HTC Sync website. Does anyone have an older installer or know of another way to ensure I actually have the necessary drivers for the Rezound? Win7 x64. Thanks in advance.

If you're rezound died in CWM (pretty much philz) you might need to follow this guide.. See if it works.. Worth a shot I guess :/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27428049

Thanks for the response. I get the short blinks followed by one long one just like this which I assume tells me my phone is ready to receive adb commands. However, as I said earlier, adb returns nothing with the "adb devices" command. Therefore I can't send reboot or flash commands. It's looking more and more like a basic driver issue to me. I just can't find the driver and it looks like HTC sync doesn't contain it anymore. Could someone at least give me the driver version from device manager to help me with Google search terms?

http://sleezers.blogspot.com/2012/01/download-htc-rezound-driver-and-pc-sync.html?m=1 here's what I used. Worked perfect for me... Also with the phone is off. You won't get any thing back with your trying adb. I'm pretty sure you only get it in recovery or when the phone is in USB debugging mode. Or that's the only time I've gotten it to work

Hey nice find although it turns out I didn't need it. I had an Unbuntu Live CD booted on my laptop for a completely unrelated project and all of the sudden my phone booted up. It was still connected to the computer but only because I had forgotten about it. I don't even know what made it turn on, I wasn't touching it and didn't have adb installed since it was only a live CD. Anyway, it booted up and I let it sit and charge for an our or so. When I was done with Unbuntu, I rebooted into Windows, plugged the phone in and bingo, it found/installed the drivers. I can explain neither my initial problem nor the random unprompted solution. I'm sure glad it's up and running again though. Thanks again for the link.

:good: whatever makes it work man

[Q] computer wont recognize my phone after recovery update

hey all,
ive been a member for a while, but have never posted. i usually am always reading and trying to keep up with updates, and how to's... i am currently running liberated Aria FROO8 (2.6.32.17-cyanogen-Liberty), and have been for some time. i am nervous usually when it comes to rom updates, so i dont update constantly (if anyone has a great rom i should update to, please dont hesitate to shout it out). the problem was when i decided to update to Clockworkmod recovery 3.2 from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1003723
now, my computer does not recognize my phone, and will only charge the phone. i have tried to reinstall unrevoked, but when i go through the steps, my device manager or registers it as My Htc, and i cannot update using the drivers i downloaded. it seems that its the computer not accepting the phone and not the phone restricting anything. please, please, can someone help, i need to be able to access my phone on my computer, and i have read all 33 pages of the forum thread i linked above. what do i need to do? is there a way to uninstall the recovery 3.2? if i were to upgrade to a new ROM, would the computer still not recognize the computer. i realize as well, after the fact, that i installed the recovery meant for the Desire.
how can i get my computer to recognize this Aria without having to reboot everything and try to start from scratch, does anyone know if i need to reinstall CWM and which one would work for me. when i plugged my phone after install, its states that device driver not installed correctly. then when i run through the instructions loacated here:
http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-set-up-adb-usb-drivers-for-android-devices/
and here:
http://www.unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php?id=public:windows_hboot_driver_install
and neither load a correct driver onto my computer, my computer does not register it as Other Device/Android 1.0, it registers it as My Htc.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

i would say use the 2.1 (NOT 2.2) RUU update to return to stock and re-run unrevoked
1st link 404s(page not found)
is there also a way to delete the CWM 3.2 i installed on the computer, i cant seem to find it anywhere, where would it be. thanks for the quick reply, there was no link though to the 2.1.
i dont understand how a newer version of CWM was installed without s-off
how did you flash it?
Try turning your phone completely off, then using volume down + power to turn it on, and then select FASTBOOT from the HBOOT menu. Leave your phone on this screen.
Then run the 2.1 RUU. You can download it from here:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9D9NGT6J
You are going to lose your ROM settings when you do this because this reverts your phone to stock. Then you can run Unrevoked again.

thanks a million! i noticed that when i fastbooted, that the computer registered a usb plug, but that was the only time it ever did, thats why i figured the problem was on the computer side, when i tried to install the 3.2 CWM for the Desire.
i followed the instructions on the page to update the CWM to 3.2. Like a moron, i skipped turning the S-Off. so when i installed it through fastboot, like it said, the phone rebooted, but the computer could not identify the phone, and so that left me with a phone that couldnt load into the computer. i also noticed, when i tried to run Clockwork Recovery through Ubuntu, i couldnt find that either. does anyone have the link to loading through Ubuntu?
two questions...does have a ROM that you recommend, the one i had seemed to work great for me, even though its a 2.2. but i cant seem to find a link for it. does anyone know where i can find it, or one better? i loved what i was using but now not sure which to choose, since soo many have been released since i originally downloaded it. thanks again for everyones help.
sullylove
the problem was with my phone and not my computer...i should have known. when i loaded 3.2 i figured that it had to be the computer since i loaded 3.2 through the computer. stupid me. normally im pretty cautious about just downloading, but i noticed that my clockworkmod had never updated from 2.5.0.7 and i saw that there were alot of them. but ill tell ya i loved the ROM I was using. just cant find it.

if anyone has a link to it, or one better, or that i should be using please let me know.
much thanks!

For future reference, just leave your recovery version alone. Versions 3.0 and higher are actually not compatible with FR008, which doesn't sound like something you want, does it?
The ROM you've been using (FR008) is available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819715
There is also another somewhat newer version of Sense Froyo that is based off the the official AT&T 2.2.2 release (whereas FR008 is based on the global 2.2.0 release). The differences are minor but you can try it out and see what you think: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=970272 (Skip all the way down to the bottom of the first post for the most recent version.)
no that does not...thanks for everything! i am clearly a novice, and should be more careful. and thanks for letting me know of the Sense 2.2.2. i think i might give that a shot. that seems to be a much smarter risk than just downloading an update i cant use, only to satisfy my hunger to update something. thanks again. to everyone

so i went ahead and tried to run the factory fastboot in Hboot but the computer never recognized that anything was plugged into the usb port. My phone only charges now when plugged into the computer, even in Hboot. Hboot recognizes that the usb is plugged in, but my computer does not recognize anything, so i was unable to reset it to factory Rom, nor use the Ubuntu unrevoked, and when i tried to install the US att 2.2.2 ROM, it installed, but still the computer did not recognize any phone. am i screwed?
How do i turn off the Eng S-On in Hboot? and is there a way to find where the CWM 3.2 installed into to get it off my computer, because it seems the computer wont let the phone be recognized? When Hboot loads i receive the screen first picture that i loaded, then it goes to the HBoot menu screen, then when i plug in the usb, it changes to Hboot Usb, then i choose Fastboot which is the next screen, the final screens are what my computer registers the phone, and what drivers are installed said item. what can i do???????

Try installing HTC Sync (leave it installed but don't have it open) before you run the RUU.
so i reinstalled HTC Sync, and the computer did pick up the phone long enough to run the aria stock rom, but now when the phone rebooted and finished installing the rom, the computer no longer registered anything plugged in. so i wasnt able to run unrekovered or now anything else, as it seems the computer still hasnt found the phone, and i can no longer do a hboot recovery to a backed up rom. it definitely seems to be the computer. but now im kind of in limbo, cant reload a back up, and computer still cant pick up the usb phone. reinstalling the computer system to factory, to clear anything that the 3.2 CWM may have installed, and i guess also wipe the sd on the phone as well. is there anything that a CWM installs onto a sd card? computer?
Next you should uninstall HTC Sync (but do not uninstall the HTC drivers), and also install the HBOOT drivers by following these directions: http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
After that, Unrevoked should work.
i did all of that step by step, and when i plugged the usb in during Hboot installation it never showed up as other device\android 1.0 it showed up as Android\My HTC. after installing the specific driver as per instructions, it did change to Android bootloader interface, but problem is unrevoked, nor the computer are registering any phone being plugged in. the program wont run unless it has a phone connected to computer. is there something to the sd checking missing files screen i posted? and apparently recovery can no longer be obtained.
I don't know what you could have done as far as installing drivers on your computer. Perhaps you should try starting from scratch on another computer if you have access to one.
There is also an Ubuntu LiveCD method that might work for you. I assume it's mentioned somewhere in the Unrevoked thread.
thanks, i had tried the ubuntu live cd unrevoked install option, but since the computer never registers a phone plugged into the usb port, it wont install. damn...i dont have access to another computer. could it be something on the sd drive? plus, should the hboot Eng S-On be off?
sullylove
I don't understand. How were you able to run the RUU if your phone won't show up on your computer?
As far as S-OFF, if you want to go that route you would have to use the recently released AlphaRevX beta. Unrevoked does NOT give you S-OFF.
Nothing on the SD card should matter, but feel free to wipe it if you want.
Its been a while but don't you need USB debugging enabled to run unrevoked? Maybe check that?
Sent from my cm7 Aria.
i dont know, when i reinstalled HTC Sync (when the computer installed the My HTC driver) is when the computer picked up the phone. but i havent been able to duplicate that time. USB Debugging was on and still is. i am going to try to see if a computer at work today can pick up the phone. if it does than that at least means its my computer thats not picking up my phone. if the computer does not pick up my phone, than i know its my phone and/or sd card. i honestly dont know why its not picking it up since it was able to do it for the aria rom reset. i hope i can get this rectified.
so i am at work, and so i plugged my phone into the usb at the computer at work, and it found the phone, installed drivers, or at least tried to because HTC Sync wasnt installed on it, nor My HTC Drivers. but i guess that at least means its my computer and not the phone or sd card. at least i have a starting point.

MTP drivers just wont install

The driver install fails on the HTC MTP driver install...I cannot get by this. I am running Windows 7 64 bit...anyone else having this issue?
OMG I fought with that for HOURS. I never did get them to work. I installed htc sync, htc sync manager, and I installed the all in one kit drivers.. Nothing. Windows 7 64 bit too.
I assume you are trying to unlock the bootloader and root?
Do both things manually using fast boot commands and recovery.
Tl;dr you can root without MTP drivers

exactly like me, I have been fighting with this for two days now. Reinstalling htc sync, htc sync manager, cleaning out existing drivers reinstalling again. Removing everything that could be associated with htc at all, reinstalling android sdk etc etc.
Nothing makes my phone recogniced by ´adb devices´not even htc sync software recognice it.
Every time I plug it in, the device is recogniced and installed and it says under Portable Devices in the device manager ´HTC One X+´
Do you get the Choose type of connection screen on your phone when connecting it? Because I dont, is just says connected in debug mode, even if debug development tools is turned of and debug of. But it still doesnt show up in adb.

No, not on this phone.. I think it has to do with the MTP crap. You can read an informative post by Lloir in the dev section to find out more.

hmm.
went back to the store and made them try connecting the phone to one of their laptops, if course everything worked perfectly there
So now im back trying to figure out what to do. Going to find the post you mention and see if I get any hints there.
Did you notice my post above where you I claimed you can root and unlock without the drivers?
What do you need to do that you need them?
Hi,
I am reading this, it is exactly what I recognize with my new One X+ too.
BUT I am not wanting to root or something. I'd like the Navigon software to recognize my device and download the maps like it did on my Desire HD.
Any more hints to how I can get this running ?

Ruud

Can't install HTC drivers

Hello I did not wanted to make a new thread for this question, but I can't figure it out.. I'm preparing my phone for jcase exploit to unlock my bootloader. I did just about everything to prepare the phone except for the drivers, and the drivers are usually the easiest thing to install.
1. I have sdk installed
2. Java is up to date
3. I have set up HTC sync several times.
- my phone is on debuggin
- I have followed the steps on HTC sync page including tunrning off my antivirus
The pic is what it says everytime I try to install drivers. There is also a pic of my platform-tools. When I try locate on adb the imei is not popping up it says waiting for device. What else can I do to install my drivers.. thx
sent from my DNA
to install the drivers, install htc sync. after that you should be all set.
you can probably open up a CMD and check adb devices
if it doesnt show up try running CMD with admin rights.

You can always search on Google HTC droid dna usb drivers, There might be some defected or missing files at yours. And if that doesn't work, try on a different computer.
OK, similar situation. I went through jcases exploit without a hitch. Adb works just fine, I can see my device with adb devices command. When I go to bootloader/fastboot-usb, and try to get my unlock token from htcdev, all I get is waiting for device. The fact that adb works tells me that the drivers are installed. What am I missing?

Ok, to further help you, I'm going to need you to thoroughly walk me through the steps you're taking -- all commands you're running, what you're plugging in, everything. I don't mean to insult you're intelligence or anything, but it's probably something simple.

No worries. As I stated earlier, I went through the unlock exploit from jcase without any problems. I went to htcdev, got to the spot to enter the command to get the unlock token(already in bootloader/fastboot usb), and I get "waiting for device".

Some diagnostics:
1) Run fastboot devices
2) Move to a USB port of another USB bus (like on another side of the computer of the furthest port away physcially)
3) Reboot and do a 'adb devices'
4) Is HTC Sync installed? I've heard it can fudge some things up. Uninstall it if it is (the drivers will remain installed).
Reason for edit: making the diagnostics more clear for future users with this problem.

That's great to hear, man! Sometimes, when you're in a lower level hardware ROM, USB connections get finicky, and swapping around which USB bus handles the connection helps. Glad to hear you're unlocked -- let us know how the unlock finishes out.

[Q] moonshine wont finish on droid dna

So basically moonshine is the only option if you take the ota to get s-off. so i have all the drivers installed and and start moonshine and it all goes good until it says rebooting into bootloader <again> waiting for fastboot <9/60> then instead of going to the next step it makes dashes (-) that fill up the comand promt and my phone is in the fastboot menu. I let it do that for about An hour *and I've tried multiple times. Any ideas ?
*
Additional info running windows 7 phones on 4.1.1 with the 2.06.605.1 710 RD update, usbdebug is on fastboot is off. Phone is fully charged. Htcsync is uninstalled and im using usb 2.0 with factory HTC cable.
Try different drivers (pdanet) and disable your firewall and antivirus. I tried everything 2 with moonshine. I was so frustrated. Took me a whole day to finally work. Disabling firewall, anti virus, and loading different drivers finally worked!!!!!
BTW I was stuck in the EXACT spot where your having trouble!
Also.....after each unsuccessfully try reboot your phone and reattempt
Make sure you have the latest android SDK tools installed as well. Great video here if you are lost with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdeIol1m6A0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Tried all that except the pda drivers and the firewall. Going to give it a go tomorrow thanks it is driving me crazy and it helps to have someone else's input so i really appreciate it.
MoonShine didn't work for me. Try RevOne. If that doesn't initially work try omitting the -P switch in the first step and continue.
if it fails grab a ubuntu 32 bit live cd and use those instructions it took me about 10 minutes to do mine since it reboots the phone about 20 times lol.
Alright I used revone and finally got s-off unlocked but I tried flashing twrp and it hangs when trying to enter recovery. It says enteringrecovery and I have to hold power to reboot it.

moonshine works
plug your usb cable into a port directly on the mobo, be sure you have installed all of the HTC drivers(remove the sync program and any other HTC programs), makes sure your adb is up to date.
The first night i did it, it didnt work and I kept getting the WTF? What are you doing? error.
2nd night, made sure adb and drivers installed(restart pc), used port on modo instead of hub, changed screen timeout settings to 10 mins instead of never, (ran adb.exe as admin), ran moonshine as admin(win 7x64) and it worked. I screenshot the results if ud like to see.

[Q] ADB won't connect, cannot S-off, and want Kitkat

Hello friends at XDA!
I need some help. I have a Tmobile M7 HTC One. I have TWRP 2.7 running just fine. I have been able to flash a few ROM's using just that. I now want to install Kitkat GPe and it seems to require S-Off or else I get stuck in a bootloop. For what it's worth, I have Hboot 1.44. The phone has developer mode turned on. And it has USB debugging turned on.
I made such a mess that I formatted the whole device and had to flash a new ROM via USB OTG. It's back in working order now... but, not with the ROM I want. Currently running the newest stable Cyanogen Mod.
I have attached the phone to a Windows 7 and Windows 8 computer. Neither of them will recognize the phone.
On the Win7 machine, I had HTC Sync installed and closed. I also installed Squabbi's Toolkit and attempted to install the drivers from it. When I click the HTC Drivers button, nothing happens. I have tried connecting to adb through the tooklit and turning S-off... but, they all return some version of the Error: Device Not Found message.
On the Win8 machine, there was no HTC software, so I installed Squabbi's kit. I pressed the HTC Drivers button and it said it had installed new hardware... but, again, ADB won't connect.
I, frankly, don't care about ADB or s-off, as I've never needed them before. I just want to install 4.4 GPe. If I can do that without S-off, please point me in that direction. If I can turn S-off directly from the phone without ADB, please point me in that direction. And if I really need ADB to work, please help!
I'm almost certain this solution is already posted somewhere... and I'm just not able to find it... sorry to be a drag if that's the case. Either way, I'd be happy to reward (paypal) the person/people who help me get this resolved. I'm thinking like $10...
Thanks everyone!
