BoomSound on steroids - HTC One Max

Apply this mod for louder speaker/headset sound. I tested it. It works.
I haven't tried the 150% mod because that's when the annoying crackling sound takes place.

do nothing . no loud for speaker
it just added new ringtones from m8
that what confemed in the original thread

I haven't been able to find any thing better or more comprehensive then Viper4Audio for the Max. It will install on anything.

yes viper4max is really great in headphone
but in speaker it doesn't make it loud enough
we need some body to confg the audio file in our max to make it louder like the galaxy phones in samsung

True. I was able to get my speakers sounding better with viper4audio. It looks like the link in the OP is to a mod that installs system sounds (ringtones, notifications ect) that have been re-encoded to have higher volume.

This just replaces the ringtone/notification/system sound files with ones that are modified to be louder. It won't increase the volume of music you play.

I can't seem to get v4a to cooperate with my max...It prompts for driver install, I select the driver I want, su asks permission and then it instantly goes to reboot prompt after granting su
After reboot, v4a continues to inform me that I must first install a driver to use v4a..
Leads me to believe that it is failing to install...What led to your install success on the max?

[Q] DSP Manager why?

Why does almost every rom include this app? I dont see what is so great about it. To me it is just taking up RAM.
Am I missing something?
You can just remove it if you don't want it. To my knowledge, it is an equalizer for your phones speaker and earpiece. You can change it to how you want..but if you don't want it, just remove it. No need to get all feisty ;p

because there's a serious low volume issue on the 3D
we need everything possible to try to make the sound louder
I like the EQ, it comes in handy with apps like tune in and other apps where a little sound boost is needed.

If you already have an equalizer or other volume increasing app, it will conflict with dsp manager and vice versa. You can only have one. If you don't have anything conflicting with it like that and want to try it, maybe someone can help you get the apk to install manually. It really does make things sound great. Though I liked Equalizer from the market better.

[FIX] DSPManager v1.0 (ICS 4.0.3/SENSE 3.6+4.0)

There's been talk in a lot of different device forums about DSPManager having no function or constantly force closing. The discussion here will be for sense 3.6/4.0 and ICS 4.0.3
I started a thread HERE on how to get DSPManagers' various functions to work properly but my previous method did not work for sense 3.6 or sense 4.0. Any development or ideas are more than welcome in this thread. I have made progress to a certain point but my inexperience makes it hard for me to pinpoint the cause of certain issues such as the app force closing.
Update 5/6/12
-No app force close selecting any enhancement
-All enhancements function properly
-Only got DSP v1.0 working(not V2)...for now
WARNING - This process will disable all other HTC audio effects (beats, srs, etc.) Other market app equalizers and sound enhancement software also may conflict with DSP so keep that in mind.
Awesome work. Can't wait to install and test.
Tested on MeanROM ICS 0.9. Caused the Music app to not be able to play music (said that the files were not supported). Had to dirty flash ROM to fix.

I had that issue some time ago...for me it was a temporary problem with the music app, when I tracked ahead or went to Library>Song it played my music after that. I don't think that issue is directly related to the files flashed in this .zip

With me, every song I selected did not work. I went into my library and selected different songs and kept getting the file type not supported error (which I normally do not get and did not get after reflashing the ROM).
According to MikeyXDA, global Beats breaks DSP Manager, Volume +, etc.

Also, the other guy above (mozman) seems to be having the same issue I did:

Hope that helps your quest to fix DSP Manager. When I get a chance, I'll try to reflash the DSP Manager zip and do as you suggest.
I'm running cleanrom which doesn't have beats. I warned of other eq's hampering dsp's ability to function properly. I've seen beats work along side dsp but I would attempt to disable any beats audio stuff first then try dsp.

I don't know how to disable Beats (Mikey has not put out a way to disable Beats in his ROM). Thanks for the suggestion about CleanROM. I'm also thinking of trying ViperROM for the same reason. I can use DSP to make a better sound than Beats.

I've confirmed what you have said about beats and dsp. You must've been talking about using headphones which indeed will cause that error of not playing a file. I use Bluetooth devices so I'm fortunate to not have that issue. Try going into Apps>All and disable Music Enhancer. See if that works.
EDIT - nevermind I didn't have my headphones powered on everything worked fine, you should just try to reflash the Rom then the zip.

I know I'm the only one replying, but I really want DSP to work with Beats like it does on GB. So, I installed MeanROM 1.0 then flashed the zip. Using headphones, press play on song and get the unsupported file error. Select HTC Enhancer, song plays, then select Beats and the song plays, but DSP changes do not make any change to the sound. The app loads and changes can be made, but the sound does not change tone at all. When I try to play the next song, I get the unsupported file type error again and have to go through the above steps.

Your wish is granted my friend. Aamikam released v1.0 of MikVirgin. He was the first dev that I know of to get beats over bluetooth. The changlog states he has working DSPv2 as well!! I'm downloading it now I suggest you try it.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1654131
Anyone know if there has been any progress on getting DSP v2 for Sense 3.6 and 4 working?
thanks.. i'm going to try it..
DSPManager2
I experimented and come up with something that works for me. I have evo 3d s-off running viper 3d, it is sense 4.1
I just keep the sound enhancer on beats audio and do my EQ adjusting with DSP manager 2
You can try it and see. Just make a backup before flash!
DSP Manger
You may have to put sound enhancer on no effect for dsp manager2 to work on some roms.
Wow.
I really appreaciate this update. I didn't want to move out from CM by this.
Now I'm running ICS on Inspire4G using Trickdroid, this is the only component that was missing to be happy again!

it does work, the g3 just has a great audio output that its hard to tell the difference. you will not get an increase in volume though :crying:
I am an audiophile. I own many thousands of dollars in headphone equipment as well as monitoring equipment. I have been an avid android user and developer since the HTC G1. I use viper4audio not for the speaker output but for the headphone output. The G3 uses the same Amp for the speaker as it does for the headphones. There is no change what so ever when viper4audio is enables to my sound. I use the equalizer ive checked multiple settings, i've even used different audio players to get viper4audio to work on neither the speaker or headphones. What you experiencing is a placebo effect.
I hate to ask such a basic question, but are you guys using the XPOSED framework and have you enabled the viper mod in the framework?
I can assure you this mod works with the G3 (at least the AT&T version - I'll be testing on a verizon version later today). The sound difference can be drastic depending on what mods you turn on and to what levels you set them at.
That brings up another question I guess.... Are you going into the GUI and selecting different mods? Just installing the app won't change anything as nothing is turned on be default. You have to set things up manually.....
Just moved from and S5 and this was one thing I installed first. I can't speak to the headphone jack but bluetooth audio definitely works.
Viper sounds amazing on this phone, I can tell a difference from my s4. Very happy with spotify viper combo
does anyone has a the origina file handy for a verizon LG-G3 handy? I followed the instructions in the op and saved the original file on my sdcard but I ended up buying another sdcard and forgot I had it in the old sdcard. Now I'm scared if I ever going to do a change I don't have the original file to go back to. I'm happy with this mod I just want to have it just in case, thank

I am an audiophile as well and viper has been working perfectly for me since day one of rooting my g3. I don't have force enable viper on. I also have the user audio profile installed. And FX compatibility mode is on normal. Do you have yours installed as a system app? I don't.

I am an audiophile and I always recommend Noozxoide Eizo Rewire Pro. Amazing.
I think viper is the best I notice a big difference in both quality and volume I used a decibel meter on my g2 to compare the difference and with viper I gained on the low end 6 db and on the high end 10db so that's an average of a 8 db gain with viper
I rooted almost specifically to use Viper4Android. Ive noticed that the phone speaker is actually quieter with V4A enabled(probably just settings) but headphone volume/clarity is fantastic. I also came from an HTC One M7, and i have to say, 1 watt does work on this device

I can confirm this also. V4A FX 2.3.3.0/Verizon VS985(Rooted) -
Viper always has worked for me on my G3 with and without Xposed framework installed, but always with root. My steps are below, never given me a problem.
V4A version 2.3.3.0 [in Normal (not compatibility) mode, with granted root permissions, Latest version, expert UI, played with SPOTIFY]
Installed by dragging apk from extSD to
dragged to system/apps/
permissions change to rw-r--r--
ownerships changed to root
if its not in my app drawer, i reboot, if it is I go straight to the install of the drivers (both have worked fine for me)
installed V4A driver by granting root
Super Audio Quality
Reboot
Select it as the equalizer in spotify
enjoy

Agreed.
Has anyone tried an audio boost to the headphone out volume with V4A Installed? I like to feel my head shake with bass...but am very picky about quality of sound too. I know on my GS4 any audio boost to TW 4.4.2 caused distortion even if using V4A at 50% media volume @ signal strength= moderate \ Max Gain =x4 \ Max output = -1.9db
Using Klipsch S4A buds - anyone got recommendations for earbuds that go well with V4A on the G3? interested to know thoughts, looking for new ones

[MOD] Dual Speakers Mod for N910K

To install open the zip file and extract the "default_gain.conf" file and copy it to "/system/etc/default_gain.conf" using your preferred method.
Then set permissions to rw-r-r or 0644 ( e.g "chmod 0644 /system/etc/default_gain.conf" ) and REBOOT your device.
Volume levels are pushed to maximum possible without distortion with EQ on Earpiece speaker to remove low frequencies. Good luck.
Works on my SM-910K running MarshMallow 6.0.1.
WARNING!!!
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON THE DEVICE MENTIONED ABOVE. MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR DEFAULT "default_gain.conf" FILE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONE.
(E.g "adb pull /system/etc/default_gain.conf [safe location here]" or "adb shell cp /system/etc/default_gain.conf /sdcard/default_gain.conf.bak" )
To be SAFE DO a NANDroid backup in Recovery.
Happy modding.
NOTE:
If you cannot find "/system/etc/default_gain.conf" file on your device then this MOD will NOT WORK for you. If that is the case you can try the other surround mods for other variants of the Note 4. This has only been tested to work on the N910K.
I created this one because the mods for the other variants didn't work on my phone since it uses the "default_gain.conf" file instead of the 'normal' "mixer_paths.xml" file.

If there was a quick ON/OFF toggle you would notice that it makes quite a difference than with it turned off completely. Especially when you receive a notification etc... with your phone lying on a flat surface.
I haven't yet figured out how to manipulate the EQ settings for the front earpiece so that it only outputs mid-treble range without any bass.
Once I do, I'll be able to boost the volume without causing distortion. Otherwise it might damage the earpiece.
Where shoud I found that toogle ?
Actually I didn't find a "default_gain.conf" file in etc,so I just simply copied the one from your mod zip.

Install "Ainur JamesDSP v1.7" Magisk module and choose the HQ 64bit driver

Confirmed working (speakers & headphones (can't test bluetooth)) on my FIG-LX1 (L31) - EMUI 8.0.0.148(C432) - Magisk v17.1
Edit: If you don't want ringtones/notification-sounds to be processed, switch DSP registration from global to conventional. (3dot menu - top right, screenshot added)
Huge thanks to natanrosenfeld (he made a YT video, explaining a fix for previous version (now fixed with v1.7)) - and especially the JamesDSP dev team!

Have you tried using the same impulse response files with JamesDSP?
Copy the .irs (or .wav, .flac) to /storage/emulated/0/JamesDSP/Convolver and enable Convolver in JamesDSP.

Even if we'd share the exact same setup (e.g. settings/IR xy sound great with my Shure SE425 in-ear headphones, but not so great with my AKG Q701) and preference of music, it would still be incredibly subjective and mainly based on taste. Certified sound-engineers would probably disagree, I guess
My suggestion is: leave every (other) option off, download a pack of different IRs (e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/collection-convolver-samples-389-t3140299) and try each one out. If you found one you like, (slightly) tune it with the EQ. At least that's my "non-pro" approach.
Mostly all I want is to make the phone louder, well the phone speaker, on Bluetooth speakers etc it's fairly OK
Next issue is echo sound on ringtone and notification
I'll try IRS out and maybe someday have Viper4android
It's a system-wide audio-mod, so yes, if you have e.g. Virtual Room Effect turned on or use a noticably "reverberating" impulse response file, you'll experience echo on ringtones/notification-sounds too.
I've managed to make the speakers slightly louder by choosing the highest IR Volume Level (30dB), but I think the device's speaker volume level/overall sound-quality is just physically limited. They are not the "best" speakers after all.

I noticed the room effect and turned it off, but just using Irs or some of them and seemed to be an echo,
Speaker is good enough, it is only a phone after all, there are small bluetooth speakers now that have great volume to help
A nice guy from the Telegram channel pointed out, that you can avoid processing system sounds (ringtones/notification) by switching DSP registration mode from global to conventional (screenshot added to OP).
YEEEES!!!! This mod is also working on Huawei P20Pro with EMUI8.1.. I just follow the same steps above. Thanks a lot man!

Install "Ainur JamesDSP v1.7" Magisk module and choose the HQ 64bit driver
Install "Audio Modification Library v.1.8.1" Magisk module
Reboot
Configure JamesDSP app
Confirmed working (speakers & headphones (can't test bluetooth)) on my FIG-LX1 (L31) - EMUI 8.0.0.148(C432) - Magisk v17.1
Edit: If you don't want ringtones/notification-sounds to be processed, switch DSP registration from global to conventional. (3dot menu - top right, screenshot added)
Huge thanks to natanrosenfeld (he made a YT video, explaining a fix for previous version (now fixed with v1.7)) - and especially the JamesDSP dev team!

Sorry - I'm not an expert, so don't take my word for it - but I don't think that's possible, since all these files are stored in locations, where (non root) users don't have write permissions. Even with a rooted and/or custom recovery device, I don't think it's possible to alter app-specific volumes by just changing mixer_paths.xml values.

Sorry I know I mentioned whats app but really I just mean overall volume. With my moto g5 I was able to edit mixer path values which led to louder everything. But that was only with root as I'm new to adb. Thanks for your response

In case your bootloader is unlocked, iirc you could theoretically fastboot flash TWRP - and use TWRP's "privileged" terminal (e.g. (mount /system), adb pull/push and edit the file(s)), and then (re)flash stock recovery again - without actually rooting the device.
Again, I'm not an expert (also didn't try it myself) and can't guarantee above mentioned procedure works, despite my inner-Sherlock-Holmes tells me, your bootloader is actually not unlocked.

Yeah still locked dude, tried DC unlocker but they refunded as I'm on latest security patch and admitted there is nothing they can do right now.
