If you guys have the Amaze and tired of tmobiles BS 5GB throttling cap then you can switch to simplemobile they use tmobile's network.
Make sure you get their $60 / month unlimited talk text and 4g plan because their 3g plan sucks and throttles you at 120 kbps, but the 4g has no throttling and i topped out at 25 mbps on the speed test on the hspa+ 42 network.

It shouldn't work
the APN is simple if you wanna play around with it.
Is it possible to use a Simple Mobile SIM in the Amaze without unlocking it?
Anyone tried using the Simple Mobile APN setting on T-mobile HTC Amaze? If yes, does the throttling cap still works?
Also, What value string is used for MMSC parameter in the APN setting?

It should be possible since Simple is an MVNO (mobile virtual network provider) of T-Mobile. However, since I don't have a Simple Mobile SIM to check with, I can't be a hundred percent sure. Sorry.

No, I WAS answering the question whether a Simple Mobile SIM would work in a T-Mobile locked Amaze. You will have to find out for yourself if your usage while connected to Simple counts against your data cap.

I'm not familiar with Claro personally. What is your country?
If your APN settings posted are copied from the exact phone settings, you've got a typo in the first line. Internet is misspelled. I assume this is an error in posting here. You might check for similar errors in your settings however.
You may have viewed this list, but see if any settings here help you: http://nxwiki.blogspot.com/2011/09/claro-apn-settings-gprs-mms-wap-3g.html?m=1
Does claro use the same frequency band for 3g as T-Mobile USA? That phone only uses those (tmobile) frequencies for 3g service.

yes i searched that now, but its not the same as tmo?
No. Tmo and ATT have different 3g frequencies.
Try turning 3g off on your phone and see if it will pick up 2g. I had an ATT phone a couple years ago that wouldn't pick up my Tmo 2g signal unless I unchecked 3g.

I was having the same problem but I figured it was because they were turning LTE on in my area. I didn't have LTE the day before and when I noticed the icon there my mms didn't work. I flashed a different rom and mms works now.

As in rooted stock? I haven't tried that yet.
I did a little more testing yesterday, and I figured out that the problem ONLY happens at my house. Yesterday I tried sending myself a picture message about 7 miles down the road, and was able to send/receive it just fine on both 2g & 3g.

Sense. I went back to aosp for maybe 12 hours and went back to sense. I'm going to run the RUU tonight and see if that helps. I tried calling at&t this morning, they sent some sort of update to my phone but it didn't help. Hopefully running the RUU will help. If not i'll know it's a problem on at&t's end.

I am not on AT&T so how can I post them, a quick phone call or email to AT&T and you'd be set. It is not a matter of what type of phone APN settings are like DNS settings, all phones need them, just some have them built in but some don't.
Ok. Sorry about that. I finally got my 5.8 to work awhile ago.

You need to define the APN. It's strange your att SIM wasn't automatically recognized and the apn settings loaded. I have a 7 year old att SIM and when I put it in my Mega it automatically loaded the wap.cingular APN settings and I had to take no action on my part to enable 3G data.
I am on media net so your data plan maybe different than mine and that could be the difference on why the mega didn't auto define your APN settings.
Here's what I'm pulling down on media net HSPA.
I have an unlocked gs4 from Verizon and I am attempting to use it on Bell Mobility in Canada. I have an LTE sim card which I know works for LTE because I tried it on a note2 which is locked to bell. My apn is set up properly and I can get data but only H or H+. When I try to change the preferred connection to cdma/lte my signal bars go away and they are replaced with the no signal symbol, circle with a line through it. It must be a setting in the phone somewhere but I'm out of ideas. Hoping someone can help or at least point me in the right direction.
I'm a noob when it comes to adroid so go easy on me lol.

So get this...
I planned on re-selling the phone to my american friend who happened to be on verizon. So I did the factory data reset to send him a nice clean device. Just for kicks i decided to try one more time to connect to lte. I put the in the Bell LTE sim, configured APN, and selected LTE network connection... and nothing. However, there is an extra setting in there that says "Global", which was there before the reset but never worked. Pressed that... BOOM!.. LTE.
Don't know how or why it worked this time, but I'm happy.
