Truesmart Type: 1900/1GB/8GB

Fancy Stuff: GravityBox
I know they said the touchcreen would be "ultrasensitive", but this is ridiculous. The screen is able to detect my finger while it is still half a centimeter away. The result while typing is that it may type a bunch of letters very rapidly before I even touch the letter I want. Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone think of a workaround?

none of the files have any settings that sound like they may be related to sensitivity. Only things like "keyboard.layout", "keyboard.orientationAware" and "keyboard.bultin"

HA! I noticed that as well. I registers without me TOUCHING the screen!! Very weird as sometimes it doesn't register whwen I am actually touching the screen. I have not found a solution.
Tony
That is caused my static electricity. It happens to all ts. More when lots very dry. Touch something metal and it usually fixes it
In addition to grounding yourself, give your TS's screen a good cleaning often. The static sensitivity gets worse if the screen is dirty.

Wiping the screen clean with my shirt fixes this instantly.
I tried cleaning and screen and typing while grounded. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the problem for me. I have this problem both on the Fleksy keyboard and the default Android keyboard.
Try a tiny stylus ?

In Engineering mode there are the following settings for Touchscreen
tpd_em_log
tpd_em_log_to_fs
tpd_em_sample_cnt
tpd_em_auto_time_interval
tpd_em_pressure_threshold
tpd_em_debounce_time
tpd_em_debounce_time0
tpd_em_debounce_time1
tpd_em_spl_num
tpd_em_asamp
Any thoughts on those?
@wondermike8 i've poked around with those with no luck... they are also available through sysfs in /sys/module/tpd_*/parameters/
I have recorded a video showing the problem in my 1/8 2100 TrueSmart here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33kAiawoFwA
Also the mediatek touchpanel kernel driver sources seem to ve available here:
https://github.com/wiko-sources/cink-slim/tree/master/mediatek/custom/common/kernel/touchpanel/src
https://github.com/wiko-sources/cin...stom/common/kernel/touchpanel/it7250/driver.c
Is this a common issue on all devices? or only some of them have it... if it doesn't happen in all devices maybe we can RMA the faulty units.
Every TS has this "static buildup" issue.

Problem persists while grounded on my device. The issue is more than static buildup.
I have exactly the same problem. it is typing random letters with crazy speed when my finger is howering about 5mm from the screen, and I am thinking what to type next.
I have omate 8GB/1GB in Europe 2100. I have just flashed it with firmware TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip
Its todo with the driver or some setting somewhere, when I boot into recovery (twrp) i have no issues with hovering at all, you can leave it in recovery and touch all your want everywhere and never come up with a hover problem at any time.
Boot into android and the problem is back, comes and goes for some reason (not sure if its static o0r not, but only happens in Android and never in twrp recovery)

I am well aware of that. That is what everybody has been calling it.
Unless the TSP is bad, clean off the screen and it goes away for a time.
@Lokifish Marz: Does not go away on mine, even after cleaning it with an alcohol-free display cleaner.
@droiduser: same here, in twrp the touchscreen works (almost) perfect. I can type in the twrp shell using the twrp keyboard mostly without issues (there is a random press in some key sometime, but nothing compared to all the annoying random presses that I get in the android system). So, at least we know it might be fixed with software.
EDIT: The issue is also present in twrp... although it is less noticeable (at least on my device).
1) I've created a boot.img with the kernel from twrp 2.7 and the ramdisk from the stock boot.img (both have same kernel version), and it boots successfully but the issue is still present in the stock rom with the twrp kernel.
2) I've compared the values in /sys/module/tpd_*/parameters for twrp and stock rom and they are exactly the same.
3) I have flashed the "Unified Unrooted 1-8 Secured Tuned Stock ROM" and the issue is also present.
To test if your touch screen has the problem, i recommend checking the "show touches" checkbox in Settings -> System -> Developer Options -> Input and using the program Yet Another MultiTouch Test.
In your vid I'm seeing both touches not matching where you are touching the screen and random no input. That's an indication of a bad TSP.
Thanks @Lokifish Marz, so this can be RMA'd? any information on how Omate's warranty works?
Pick a number, any number. That number is "Q".
But seriously, I've heard so many conflicting things I have no idea. Some have reported no response, some have reported it taking months. All have reported having to pay to ship it. The fastest way to get things moving is to post on G+ and tag Le Pen or tag him in one of his posts and describe the issue (you have a vid so even better).

This started to happen about two months ago; where the screen- using the phone/app, with the screen saver on or off, any apps that are running in the background- where the screen freezes; if the screen is on it will slowly fade to a series of horizontal lines or if the screen saver is on it stays black but the back light is on and is slightly visible at the correct angle.
This has been getting gradually worse over the past couple of weeks; to a point where it does this every day.
My previous Vibrant did not have this issue (except for the GPS, which this current phone still has) and with the same applications on both phones. I have tried (short of a factory reset) shutting down any apps that are running in the background with the same result.
This a picture of the horizontal lines.

The only way to get the phone "unfrozen" is to hold in the power key until the phone reboots.
I tried discussing this with t-mobile and Samsung; all I get is to do a factory reset for a possible app issue/compatibility (see if it reoccurs, leaving all the apps out) or send the phone in for repair (out of warranty/70.00).
Has anyone run into this before(tried searching for this here and Google and did not come up with no fix/cause). Though according to the service rep at Samsung they have run into issue occurring (Samsung is aware of this specific problem, with this phone); even after trying a factory reset.
Edit: The t-mobile rep also said to remove the battery, with the phone on, once a week; saying this would help this problem; as a regular maintenance procedure. This does not seem like a normal procedure for any phone/device of any type. What could be the reason for this?
I did remove the battery from the phone while it was on; this remedied
the freezing problem for a couple of days. Having run into similar issues with capacitors in automotive modules holding a charge; causing some very odd problems and disconcerting and touching the positive and negative battery cables together to "drain" the capacitors . Could this be what this is for?
Is this software and/or hardware, defective phone?
You could try connecting with ADB and running logcat.
Depending on what logcat shows you, you might find errors being reported when it happens.
Might help you narrow it down to a software bug.
Alternatively - keep trying to isolate the problem.
Backup using Titanium backup or ClockworkMod then reinstall and clear cache and user data and don't install apps.
See if the problem comes back in a week, if not progressively restore your apps and data and see if it reoccurs.
I've had so many problems from old app and system settings which are kept after upgrading, and end up being incompatible with app/system updates.
All the best...

I will try logcat and see what, if anything, is there; as a worse case I will do the app uninstall.
Do the horizontal lines eventually cover the whole screen if given enough time?
If so, it sounds like what I went through with custom kernels. I think I tried to set it on a power saving governor. When I turned on the phone from sleep, I would see the pattern lock screen frozen. I could not unlock it, just see lines popping up one by one until most of the screen turned a real light faded color. I don't know the exact cause of it, but it might do something with the phone not getting enough power? I could be way off. The only time I have real consistent issues with freezing or sleep of death was with those custom governors like smartass. When plugged in, it acted normal. Once unplugged, it would get lazy.
What i would do: ODIN.
Clear everything, don't save ANYTHING except SD card and contacts the important crap.
If it still occurs, it may be that is the screen itself, did you drop it somewhere? water get inside somehow??

Did you ever get this resolved? It happens randomly on my Prime as well. I have the latest ICS update (Build 9.4.2.11-20120117). Mine happens through out though, like in settings/menus/etc...
Here is an example.
I get this ocasionally too. So far though, only when streaming TV on demand which is flash. I am using the lates ICS.
I would hazard a guess that it is due to Tegra3 graphics drivers still being in their infancy. We'll see what the next update brings which is due 1st half of this month. Apparently it fixes many issues that people have.
It looks like you are either using the stock browser or ICS Browser. I managed to apparantly stop it doing this by clearing the cache in the privacy settings. I dont know if it is a pernament cure, but it has not happened since.
I´m having video issues in Youtube. Not always but most times. After they start there it goes on in every next app which i use. After reboot everythings allright again.
The complete bar on the bottom starts jumping and on the left side there are flashing artifacts... you can see it here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIO2LBMG-dc&feature=youtube_gdata_player
hopefully these are driver issues...
My 3rd Prime starting having the same video artifacts and bouncing task bar.
I have yet to see any problem on my 5th Prime.
I have the same problem, artifacts in the left side randomly
I made a video
http://youtu.be/-u8c1NolrvY
It only happens with hd videos. With sd the video only bounces a bit.
Then if I play a Hd video again, it has artifacts but if I switch to fullscreen , they dissapear. If I switch to window mode again, artifacts come back.
I need to turn off the screen to get back to fix the problem.
I have a C serial Prime(from Spain)
I've had it happen once in flash video playback, jumping back and forth between full screen resolved it for me. I don't get it enough to consider it a legit problem. Im just glad to have flash playback!!! My 'boss' has an iPad 2 and all I can say is skyfire is a great app but a poor solution for flash video playback... of course as i write this flash just caused my prime to reboot... another reason i try not to bad talk my gadgets!
According with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1449992 , uninstall flash plugin, and reinstall. It worked for me

i've encountered this exact problem, accompanied by corruption of the display along the left side, particularly where the back arrow is on the bottom status bar.
in my case, it always seems to start after i use the Terminal Emulator app, even after the app has closed. reboot always makes it go away.
i suspect a there's a graphics driver bug that a variety of apps are inadvertently triggering and is putting the driver into a wonky state. considering how we're seeing text "dance" on top of a stable background this screams software issue.

Hi guys, first of all, I have headache and I can hardly use correct grammer now.
My s2 has an idiot problem. I realized it the day when I bought but, I thouht that it was fruit ninja's failure, because I was sliding my finger and idiot s2 was capturing them intermitted. I opened developer settings and activated show pointer location (the one has graph). If I ove my finger slowly, s2 captures all of it, but when I do it faster (fruit ninja speed, my old n8's touchscreen was even better), it captures it intermitted. Then I opened *#0*# and tested my phone and the result was terrible. As you can see in the picture. Did you faced this problem? I sent my phone for repair and I will get my phone after 1 or 2 weeks.

When you get the phone even if it's not fixed, then try these options:
1. If you don't have root access
-Download this App
-Run the app, and optimize your touch
2. If you have Root access
- Flash another kernel, Siyah, Dorimanx or Dream, anything touch related has been fixed in these kernels

I tried every kernel, but it is not kernel or rom related. I also tried a program which makes sensivity better, but if I do that, screen captures when I approach my finger, that makes keyboard unusable. Does anyone has this problem? I really wonder.
Addition: This problem is extremely idiot thing. Screen gets the movement but does not process it. What kind of idiotness is it (I did not say to you, to my s2 Dont understand it wrong)

I've seen this before in other Android devices.
While this isn't a complete explination, it's what I've come to know
Like other smartphones, Android phones use an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust your phone’s display brightness. This often doesn’t work too well.
It’s up to each Android phone’s manufacturer to correctly calibrate the auto-brightness feature, and they generally don’t do an amazing job. The phone may go from too bright to too dim without anything in between.
Lux is a third-party app that allows you to easily calibrate your phone’s brightness sensor, saving you battery power and reducing eye strain if your phone is normally too bright in dark rooms.

Has anyone tried to adjust the height of the keyboard in landscape mode? I find it too scrunched down. The settings has a slider to raise or lower it, but I can't get the slider to work in landscape mode. I think it might be a little bug. Works fine in portrait..
I'm currently using the TMO variant of the V10 (H901), and the smart lock does not seem to work when using the trusted places option. I have tried deleting all my trusted locations and re-enabling them. I have tried turning the location settings on and off. Nothing seems to help. Smart lock works fine when I have my bluetooth headset connected. Has anyone else had this issue? Any ideas what I could try to fix it? Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to root a V10 (LG-H900) on AT&T
The 'adb reboot bootloader' will only reboot it, and it does not bring up the bootloader.
How do you get into bootloader? Power + volume down does nothing.

Assuming you have USB Debugging checked under Developer Options,
First open "My Computer".
Watch under your Local Disk drive(s) in My Computer when you plug the phone via USB to see some kinda drive with an LG logo popping.(Beware it will disappear after a few seconds)
Once it shows then click on it; another window will open up with a few folders and files..
Look for the folder with the keyword SWUpdater in the folder name (or something close to that name).
Install the SWUpdater driver software found in it.
P.S: If it doesn't show the LG Logo type drive when you connect the phone to your computer, leave it connected then go to your notification on the phone. Click on "USB Connected" and switch between "MTP" and "PTP". That will force the LG to show under My Computer.
I did that using Windows 7 for my Verizon V10. Good Luck!!!
Ok, silly questions, but I've searched and can't find the answers...:
When using the camera app with the front camera, what is the slider at the bottom of the screen that goes from 0 to 8? Also with the ffc (in settings) , what does the icon with 2 faces (they're either facing the same way, or opposite ways) do?
So, my OK Google was saying that there was no mic, so I figured I'd uninstall and install it from the play store. Only now, the extra settings are gone. Like, the settings to say OK Google from any screen and the lock screen as well. Only option is to say it within the app. Is there any way to fix this? I'm on T-Mobile, rooted stock
Not sure if this has been mentioned, but has anyone noticed the colors on the screen occasionally going kind of greyed out.. Like lighter and more grey than usual, almost sort of inverted or grey scale, but not entirely? Its not a huge deal and it doesn't seem to last long, but happens sometimes. I haven't pinned down if it has a cause, or if it's just my phone or what. I wanna say it mainly happens outside in daylight rather than inside at night, but I'm not positive. Anyone noticed it also?
I was wondering if anyone knew. How to port roms? If so I have this rom I been using on my stylo that I would love on my v10 rom found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3265566 permission given. If you can port on me please and thank you
Can. Anyone make real ultimate icon theme work for v1o I want my status bar icon to look 2d look more realistic
Since I got my phone, I've noticed I often need to tap multiple times on the screen to "click" on what I want to open/activate. I never experienced something similar in the past with other devices.
At first, I thought it was a matter of screen sensitivity, but now I think it's more about the way the OS is registering taps.
See the following video: https://streamable.com/awblmr
There are two things:
If you click slightly above or on the side of an icon in the launcher, the app won't open. However, if you tap significantly below, it works fine (I prefer the latter behavior personally).
In chrome/bromite, if you swipe at the limit in between the tab icon and the status bar, it will both show tabs and pull the notifications.
Has anyone experienced this very irritating behavior? I mostly notice it when I want to do open apps, use the navigation bar, or type on the keyboard. It seems like it's a software "issue", so hopefully Google improves this.
I, too, am experiencing similar issues. I was chalking it up to the change from OP6t to the P6 until your post.

Good to know I'm not alone in this. I'm about to get a second unit, so I will do similar testing.
You are not alone. Same problem here with two Pixel 6 (mine and my wife's).
Just received my new unit, I have all the same display issues:
It feels cheap, especially in the middle:

Same rainbow effect when I tilt the phone
Same weird "touchscreen accuracy" as described here
Getting the unregistering taps on app icons. And also some lower app icon taps will open the app drawer. Both intermittently.

I do notice that the text below the icon seems to be part of the actual icon and if you click anywhere near that it will open the app. Other than that not really but I've only had it for a day or so. I have found that keeping my fingers moisturized eliminates errant touches and FP issues. Great for my skin but now I have to carry a little tube of Eucerine around.
I, too, was thinking it was just the slightly different keyboard position I still had to get used to...
I'm consistently having issues opening the emoji keyboard within Signal. I often have to repeatedly press the emoji button for the list to show up...

Same problems, especially on small items (like ships in Starfleet Command)
Definitely having this issue. With or without increased sensitivity. No screen protector.
Definitely experiencing touch accuracy issues in many places (pixel launcher, keyboard, quick settings, individual apps, settings, etc basically everywhere) I'd like to believe (hope) it's totally addressable in a software fix
I'm pretty sure the cause of this issue for me is that the phone is so big and heavy. It's hard for me to accurately touch the screen when my hand is struggling to hold the phone up.
This is part of why I hate the Pixel Launcher's "swipe up to open app drawer" gesture. It results in so many false positives when I'm just trying to click an icon, but the phone slips a bit and it gets registered as a swipe instead.
