Group messaging doesnt work? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5

I have T-Mobile and my group messaging is not working.. No matter if i use the stock app or Google hangouts..
The actual option is missing in Google hangouts under settings,sms, and then right under advanced settings it should show something like Group messaging or something..
I called samsung and they said it was the carrier and then i called tmobile and they said to come into the store to trade it out for a different one.
Can anyone with Tmobile send group messages with their GS5?

Same problem here. My buddy has an AT&T s5 that works fine. Is it a phone problem? Or.... Cuz I'm already rooted. Stock rooted. Nothing changed.

Have you tried factory resetting? I've heard others with this problem doing that and having the group messaging option come back.

Does having download booster enabled have something to do with it?

I figured it out.. It was the SIM card from T-mobile..
I went into the corp store and they gave me a new phone, that didnt fix it.
I asked if we could try a new SIM.. the guy was saying that wasnt the issue. I insisted.. After activating the new sim and rebooting the phone, it was fixed.. Weird huh.

Sgs2 straight talk visual voicemail

Hey guys I just bought a Samsung galaxy s 2 skyrocket. I popped in my sum card updated my apn settings and things are working good, except for visual voicemail. I was wondering if there is a way to get this working. Also instead of it saying at&t for the carrier name, it says home. Any way to change that?

[Q] SMS Problem

I usually don't ask questions. I solve them myself. Now I have a problem I don't know what to do. I can send SMS, use Mobile Data, make and receive calls, but I cannot receive messages. They don't show up. I am on the AT&T network. Everything worked until one night, it just stopped working. Couldn't get texts. Being a teenager, that is problematic for me XD. I have been to two AT&T stores (local and corporate). They wouldn't help me since it wasn't a branded AT&T phone. Wow. They take the money no questions asked. The part that confuses me is. I didn't do anything to my phone the night it stopped working. Anyone have any thoughts.
-Done so far= Flashed to stock, factory reset multiple times, checked message center #

So after a week same problem. Everything just stopped. This really pisses me off since I can't use my S3. I am back on my Captivate for the time being and it sucks now that I have experienced the S3. Anyone have any ideas what it is?

I guess nothing... Great. I have to use a super old phone until i can afford another one. Not easy having to pay a 3000 dollar insurance policy and for my motorcycle. Not easy when you are 17

The only things I can think of is, have you got another messaging app messing things up, or in the messaging settings there's a spam settings, have you checked that?

I think as default the spam settings is on, at least mines on. Might be worth a try.
Also did you restore your old messages when you went back to stock, if so maybe try deleting all messages, clear data in app manager. Back up your messages before deleting though
Yeah i deleted everything. Flashed stock and tried. Nothing. It makes me mad that i cant use my phone.

just to clarify - the new sim card worked for a week or so on your S3 and stopped working. while the same sim card(with an adapter) works on your captivate ?
i want to figure out what's the source of your problem.
other thing - if i understand you correctly you went to AT&T to fix your phone. i suggest go to AT&T center or call their support cause every company has a number for checking sms transportation and see in what stage it failed. it's just sending a code to a certain number and you should get the desired info.

Here are the details. One night i noticed i wasnt getting text from a specific someone and it was weird. Within the next couple of days i went to AT&T store. Got a new micro sim for my S3, didnt work... Got a regular sim and put it into a old phone they had lying around and it worked. I then had them cut it down to micro sim and put it into my S3. Worked for about a week and stopped again. Got a new regular sim and put it into my Captivate and it worked. So im on that until i have it fixed.

If I were you, I would try with another operator's sim card to figure out if the problem is on att network or the phone. Maybe get one of those pay-as-you-go/prepaid plans and try to receive an sms- if it works, then the problem is on att's network

When you put your sim in your Captivate did all the missed messages come through on the Captivate. If they did then I would say it's an issue on the S3, if not then it's probably an at&t issue
All of them came through yes. But why would it not work on the S3. And randomly? There was another guy on the forums that had the same problem.

[Q] LG Google Nexus 4 NO SERVICE

Hi,
My nexus phone displays NO SERVICE all of a sudden. wifi and everything else works. SIM is not getting detected i guess..
I even tried with a new SIM instead of my old one.Nothing WORKS.I tried all options..
Even did the factory reset.But still nothing turned out. When I contacted the google play support team,they said this has nothing to do with phone and this is carrier problem...Is that true?
If it is a problem with carrier,how does it work in other phones??? Please help me to fix this problem.. My whole day is wasted with this now..i want my phone back..:crying:

Weird text message.

Anyone know what this is? I started getting these on the sense 5 rom and now I'm stock and got it again. Happened when a friend tried to send a pic. They had to send it twice for it to work.
Tried Google and got nothing.

Not that I can think of. I could have though. I've installed and uninstalled so many apps it's hard to keep track. You mean just grabbing the apk online?

It's a WAP push. Something to do with the MMSc.
I got those when I went from a feature phone to smartphone.
I blocked the number but a call to CS should fix it. I'm blaming the iPhone.

It only started happening after I ran AOSP and Sense 5 based roms recently. Got it on sense 5 and restored and started getting it on stock as well. I tried googling the issue and got nothing. Not sure verizons goons are gonna be able to do anything.
Verizon support is not the best. Most don't even know what they are talking about. When I called once to get my data working again on my continuum the guy who I got had the same phone and he said he had the same problem but his data was just turned off and he didn't even know...

Could it have something to do with the MMS proxy being set wrong in the APN settings? Are you running one of the Sense 5 ROMs designed for GSM use?

Nope. Was running NOS vzw sense 5 and never messed with my APN. Seems like thats all normal though. Only happens when my friend with her iphone tries to send me a pic. The message in thr screenshot will show up and she'll have to send again for it to work. Android to android seems to work fine.

Google search for vnd.wap.mms and you'll find info. It should've cleared itself by now though.

No Sim/data issuea

Just got this phone yesterday and already having issues. Before I even rooted this thing the hands free activation didn't go through smoothly. I attached a pic below. That is one of the things that pops up.
Also, another screen pops up a lot. Device self help or something like that. It states something to the effect of, must complete this by pressing *2 on my phone to reach a representative.
Mind you that data works and so do phone calls. I actually called Sprint and they said that from their end everything is activated. This is driving me nuts. Any ideas?

Have you tried doing a factory reset from the stock recovery? You can also do it by going to Setting/General/Backup and Reset/Factory Data Reset

I also purchased my note 3: from Best Buy and the sales guy said it would be better to use my sim from the s4 so it would not require activation. On my way home from the store I also received all the same errors you did and I called Sprint. The lady reviewed my account and said everything looked great but put me on hold when I told her about the sim exchange. She said to put the original sim that came with the phone back in the phone. When I rebooted everything seems to be ok. Except all the other issues I'm having with the phone, I will be returning it in a few days. This is the first phone I have never purchased a case for because I have no intention of keeping it with all its problems. I really like the note 3 but if the major issues on worked out I'll be on the s4 until they are.
