Hi all, I'm having a serious syncing problem with the Exchange server of my Company. They have installed a level sha256 certificate by GoDaddy authority which is not recognized by the client in the HD2.
Therefore I installed the new certificates (.cer) via file explorer
but the result was that I am able to read the mails via OWA, but it is still impossible to sync with the client because of error 80072F17 (Unspported Digital Certificate installed. If you installed a digital certificate that supports wildcards from a certifying digital certificate provider, this certificate will install however using the certificate is not supported.)
Any chance to sort out, e.g. fixing the registry ?
Thanks a lot !

Has anyone with a HTC Mozart or another Windows Phone 7 device been able to install a self-signed SSL exchange server certificate? I have tried emailing the root certificate to myself and installing it, but even after a power cycle it still produces an error
I emailed one to myself and installed it. I then had to turn the phone off and on again for it to take effect though.
I haven't had to, it seems to 'grab' it from the server like the iPhones do and just ask you to accept it. (This was a self signed cert on a 2008 Server with Exchange 2007)
I followed the intruction on the page below and did a power reset afterwards, worked OK for me.
Doh! as a new user to xda I can't post a link but thtext from the pages reads:
i had the same Problem, and now i have a solution
Have you a Root CA Certificate of you’re Domain, so go first to you're locale Client (PC, Laptop) then open the mmc and load the snap-in for Certificates, select Local computer;
- on Trusted Root Certification Authorities - Certificates
-Searche youre RootCA Certificate
- then export this Certificate as a DER-coded-binary X.509 (CER) on you're local Computer
- Search the Certificate and send it via Mail (another Mail-account Hotmail for example) to you're WP7
- Sync the Mail Box and open the attachment
- install this Certificate
- now test you're Sync with the EAS Account
it should be working, be happy and have fun

My Archos 43 has problem connecting to company's exchange server. It always says something like "the exchange server requires security features your device does not support".
But my HTC Legend also with Android 2.2 has no problem at all, with exactly same setup.
Any reason?
Do you have a self-signed root certificate? I mean does your company installed its own Certification Authority? It could be the problem. You need to install the root CA certificate on the tablet in this case. Maybe the cartificate is already installed on the Legend.
Hi all,
I'm handling the support for my clients and they have Android device in their enviroment. They would like to enhance their Android device security by introducing Certificate Authentication with SCEP (NDES) on Server 2008 R2. Their requirement is to use Android device (NOT User) certificate to perform 1st level authentication for Android devices, just like the Computer Certificate in computer systems running Windows OS.
I did a search on google but could not find any good results. I would like to know if it is possible to perform Android device/machine (NOT user) certificate with Microsoft CA at all?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Hello,
if I integrate a self-signed certificate (PKCS#12 file) into my app, which acts as verification to my server as a valid client, can somebody extract the certificate, maybe through disassembling the app and builds a desktop application which simulates the app and therefore, the server treats requests are coming from a valid app running on an android device?
Thanks in advance
