No tracking/location apps work on rooted Note 2 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note II

Okay guys I looked high and low for this for several weeks for this post. I tried using Android device manager, avira, avast, all kinds of tracking apps and none of them are able to even locate my phone. None of them are able to produce a ring on my phone as well.
I usually have location settings disabled I turn them all on tried with every single service. I'm on beans 23 right now with 4.1 .2 rooted. I've tried going through my startup manager, my titanium, autostarts to see if possibly I disable to service .
The only remote clue I've gotten to any of this is what I just tried avast from their website it says its unable to use the tracking service for this device and I would have to use text commands
Can anyone lead me in the right direction? thank you!

I had a problem with mine as well. I found online through searching a fix. It was simple. Just tighten the screws on the back of the phone. I know sounds dumb, but it fixed it. Just take the back off the phone, and lightly tighten all the screws on the back of the phone. Now mine works fine.

This is really hard to believe lol....can't imagine what that would fix

I've tried several times to log into htcsense.com, but it won't let me. Is it still closed or something?

I have been able to log in all the time, but getting the features to work is another story. I have been able to get them to work exactly two times. Once, on the first day I got it on June 22nd on initial setup. The other time was maybe a couple days later. I tried locking the phone via the site but nothing happened. Around 5 or 6 hours later when I got home from work, looked at my phone and it had just locked itself. Nothing since then
EDIT: Just deleted and readded my htcsense account and can now get the ring phone function to work. Location gives an error. Tried locking again and it seems like the request went through. I am guessing my phone will lock itself in a few hours, lol
I use dolphin browser to get on in my phone , and it works , but I had set up since the first port of my og EVO so no problems hhere

Phone ring works every time. It's instant.
Same here, I can login but nothing works.
I'm able to log in, but htcsense.com thinks the device finder on my phone is disabled even though it is not. I logged a ticket with HTC a week or so ago and they replied saying that they've seen an unexpected volume and it is a known issue, etc.
I was able to create an acct, but during the verifiy device stage, it tells me to log in to HTC Sense... wtf? There's no selection for that in "SetUp" Only FB for sense and twitter for sense...

How do you delete the account and create another? No functions are working for me, I am able to login.

It worked fine for me, however there's a big delay. Just download SeekDroid for 99c. Best app for what you're looking for, EVER. You don't need root. You can wipe (everything, including SD card)/enforce or remove a password/track your phone almost INSTANTLY on Google Maps/alarm, grab a list of recently made, received, or missed calls AND the IMEI/ESN of the phone. Plus there's a mobile interface so you can hop on your buddy's phone if your phone is lost and there's no computer around.

Wanting to like the phone but...

It seems to freeze up a lot. I will select apps and they do nothing, same with downloads from the market. They just hang at showing them as downloading.
I use SPB Shell and sometimes when it does this it will also stick between pages rather than just flinging to the next it will actually just stop in between pages until you continue to scroll though.
When I select links to open, it does nothing until I actually open the browser. I have only had the phone for a few days and it worked fine, now its doing all these weird things.
Anyone got any suggestions or ideas, let me know otherwise I'm afraid I may be taking it back...
Something may be wrong with the phone. I haven't experienced none of that. Even out the box. Actually its been so fast for me that if I experience the littlest bit of lag it drives me nuts. Might be hard ware related.

LOL dude you have the data guard enabled. There is a setting in their that holds downloads and other things in a queue until you are using WiFi in order to save battery. Just disable that and you'll be on your way And the SPB Mobile Shell problem is probably a problem with the app. Contact the developer and tell them about it. There aren't many nVidia Tegra 2 phones out there so it's not very likely they have done much testing on the architecture. Also, what kind of links are you talking about? Like a link you receive in a text message?
Hey buddy aren't you from Hero Land??

I used to have the same problem with apps not responding after pressing. I was using adw launcher I reverted back to stock and everything is good now. Emailed the developer about the compatability and waiting for an answer but the photon is good otherwise

Yeah it really sounds like you have Data Saver enabled which is located under Battery & data manager in the phone settings. If not you may want to exchange the phone as faulty. I have a lot of issues which my Photon: stuttering during music playback, random reboots (twice in 2 weeks so far), and feedback when using the audio out (buzzing / static). These seem to be common problems but the performance issues you are mentioning do not seem normal from what I have read in these forums.

You would be correct. Although i went from the Hero to an LG Optimus S, and now the Photon.
No problems like that with SPB Shell here. Check the data saver mode. You can also try changing the vm heap to 48 or 64. Mine is on 64 but never had an issue with the stock setting either.
Update...
It does appear that it was SPB Shell which sucks because I was really liking it. I will send a message to the dev and see what happens. The funny thing is that is was working great the first few days that I was using it and then started acting up which was why I didn't thing it was SPB

How do you get it that high? I am using VM Heap Tool and the highest it will let me check is 48.
It's not data saver. Or it shouldn't be. It's an Android flaw.
I've had an Incredible, Thunderbolt and then Photon. Which means I've used a few Android phones over a couple of networks (more if you consider the 4G's as their own networks).
99% of the time my phones work fine. Every so often it will stall downloading an app, or an email will just sit on sending for a longggg time. Unless I am recreating the same conditions over three phones and two networks I think this just happens every once and a while.

I'm glad you found the issue, this right here always tells me it was something you installed that caused the problem. When it worked fine out of the box and then....
Just watch what you install, install one app at a time and see how it flows for awhile after each app. Yes, it may take awhile to get all your apps on but you will know what apps are causing you issues! Like a previous poster said, there aren't many T2 phones, so just be careful what you install!
Glad you found the problem!

Team Speak 3

I used the TS3 app before I rooted my phone and it worked fine. I now have root by way of Zedomaxs method, installed TS3, it worked for like 5seconds and now when I open the app I get a blank screen. Anyone else having this issue?

Not specifically familar with this app, but since none of the general troubleshooting steps have been mentioned, I'll throw those out with a hope they'll resolve the issue.
Having been on both sides of this situation, as the user and as the developer, I mention the following suggestions.
First, I'd make a backup before I started experimenting.
If you suspect the issue is related to gaining root access, perhaps "unroot" and see if that fixes the app. Luckily, it is still not the norm for apps to not work on rooted devices.
Otherwise, I'd start with the specific application's data directory, essentially where it stores all its settings/cache. I'd erase this directory, which would be similar to uninstalling/reinstalling the app.
If wiping the app's specific data directory didn't work, I would uninstall/reinstall the app. If that still didn't work, I would reach out to the developers of the specific application and supply them all the troubleshooting steps which have been taken, type of your specific device, and request assistance.
One of the additional pieces of information which can be very helpful for troubleshooting and for developers is a copy of the logcat off the device showing the application and error occurring.
Hope that helps!
Nice checklist! Shortly after posting this I was messing round w/my phone. I pressed my volume up button and noticed that instead of my ringer volume meter I was getting the media volume meter. So I went into my task manager to see what could possibly be running that would be characterized as media and found nothing. Next thing I did was reboot my phone, opened TS3 and everything's fine now. I keep forgetting to reboot my phone after I in/uninstall anything on it. I always do this w/any computer I'm using/working on. Guess the same goes w/phones now. But thanks again for the useful intel!

App that tracks how your phone is used

Is there an Android app that monitors your cell phone and how it is used? I am looking for a program that will log when my phone is unlocked, what apps are used, what messages are read, what pics are sorted through, etc.
Sometimes throughout the day I have to leave my phone around the house or at my desk and if people are trying to access it, I want to know about it and what they do on it. I tried googling it and I found one or two apps but they did not do what I wanted them to do. Thank you!

try gsam battery monitor
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gsamlabs.bbm&hl=tr
sometimes it might give wrong results if the sensors are allowed in calculations but you can exclude them from options.
EDIT: LOL I got it SO WRONG. Sorry...
have you tried the app from the market called "vault"?
pretty sure in the full version it log unlock attempts and even takes pictures with your front facing camera of anyone trying to unlock your phone
Fingerprint lock and it's done - no unauthorized access possible. One reason why I'm sticking to GB.

App for stolen/lost cell phones

I was skiing this past weekend and we found an iphone 5 on the slopes. We turned the phone on and a message appeared on the screen saying this phone is lost and if found please call number XXX-XXX-XXXX.
Which we did and the person got their phone back.
Is there an app similar to this for the Android? I know not everyone would return the phone but just in case it would be nice to have a message appear on it and track the phone too.
Thanks
Sorry I posted in the wrong section before.
Google has android device manager that can remotely locate your phone, even wipe the data on it if you want. It can even play a siren from your phone if you lost it in the couch or something and you have it on silent.
Also if you just google something simple like lost phone app, you'll get hundreds of alternatives from security companies.

Cerberus is a popular choice and one I would recommend.. read through the features.

That's what I was thinking of but couldn't remember. Plus there's a thread on here somewhere explaining how to get a free lifetime subscription

I have where's my droid.
I use PhoneLocater Pro. I've been using it for years. It works great and does everything you would ever want to do with a lost phone. It's definitely worth a look.
I use Avast! antivirus which also has a module called Anti-theft. Not only can you put a message on the screen, but you can control it by SMS commands to lock it down, turn a siren on, wipe the phone, etc. If you get the paid version, you can even take a picture of the culprit.
