hi guys i have a problem with the smart phone, hope you can help
Ok.
a friend of mine brought to me Samsung galaxy s2 i9001 with the unknown baseband , i decided to to post it in here
thanks in advance
First thing to try is just to load the correct modem to the phone for the firmware it currently has. If it has a custom rom, then would be best just to just to restock the thing with Odin. You'll find tons of info here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
There's a section called Rom Parts that has a collection of modems to use, depending on the region the phone is originally from. The wiki has all the links to the Odin version you need, drivers, guides, etc.
Does the IMEI number show?

I Tried To reset But No Use Its Hang on andriod logo CAn i use Different PDA On My Galaxy S2
Good lord, dude. You give next to no details on what specific phone you have beyond the fact you have a "Galaxy S2", and are expecting someone to tell you what to flash to it. From the wikipedia article, I count nearly a dozen COMPLETELY different models of phones that are called Galaxy S2, and TWO that are similarly modeled, (GT-I9100, and GT-I9100G) but different enough that if you flash a firmware intended for one onto the other, you end up with a paperweight.
First things first: what the heck model phone do you have? It's on the label under the battery.
If (and ONLY IF) your model is "GT-I9100" (NOTE: NO "G" AT THE END), then follow the link that JJEgan posted. There are instructions in the first post. You can probably use the latest firmware in post #2.
If your model is something else (ANYTHING that starts with "SGH-"), than you are in the wrong forum, and DO NOT flash anything you get from any postings under the I9100 forum.

Read this thread and this one and this one then maybe you will understand enough to flash a firmware or explain to use whats wrong.

Well since you have not provided any information from the offset how will anyone be able to help.
Being mobile can't even see location to which would be a start since CSC is location based...
Go to thread linked prior as will have information you need...

Yes you can Flash any stock ROM using Odin. There is a thread containg the latest stock Roms and in one of the stickies you can find detailed instructions on how to do it.. Happy Reading
You can find all you need in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
Hello guys. Yes i'm a noob and i have tried desperately to find the info out myself but i'm getting myself SO confused, i hope someone can help me out a bit and clarify a few things for me.
I have a SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i which is a United Kingdom model phone unlocked to all networks but it was getting very worn and tatty so i went out this morning and purchased a brand new SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i phone (identical model) however this one came supplied as locked to the o2 network and is o2 branded on all the startup/shutdown screens.
I figured i could simply re-flash a stock firmware to it to lose all of the o2 branding and return it to the standard Samsung startup/shutdown screens (and possibly unlock the phone to all networks during the process but i'm not that bothered about doing that as it doesn't really matter to me)
On the handsets I have gone into SETTINGS> ABOUT PHONE> and the details are as follows:
Model Number: GT-S5830i
Android Version: 2.3.6
Baseband Version: S5830iXXLK1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #1
Build number: GINGERBREAD.XXLK3
...and these details are the same for both the old phone and the new o2 branded one.
Now then, here's where i'm at: when i do things i'm not only doing them to get to the 'end goal' but also to learn and educate myself along the way, but so much of the information out there assumes that you already know what they are talking about or is just too confusing as it doesn't explain enough. I have gotten myself very confused lol.
I want to be able to 'de-brand' the new phone so that it is just like the old one, and to do that i'd like to understand what i am doing a bit more, like the baseband version and build number (XXLK1 and XXLK3 are bpth quoted in the 'About Phone' menu) and i don't understand what file i should be downloading as all i can find is labelled as GT-S5830iXXLK3 so would this be the correct firmware for my handsets as i thought they were listed by Baseband (which is XXLK1 not XXLK3 but the bit in the phone's build number says XXLK3 even though the actual phone's Baseband says XXLK1) can you see why i am confused? lol!
I'd like to be as sure as i can be prior to flashing so i don't make any silly mistakes.
I have:
KIES software,
USB Drivers (i think)
ODIN v3.07 software,
Standard Samsung supplied USB cable,
Windows 7 32bit.
Can anyone help me to understand why the firmware sets are in several split files and help confirm which firmware i do actually need for the baseband type of my two handsets.
I'm also intending to make a backup of each phone prior to flashing so i hopefully do not brick any devices. Maybe i could even read the firmware of one phone and flash to the other? Perhaps i'll just stick to finding a suitable stock firmware and keep it simple
Any help, information, education is all appreciated, and i hope as a noob to the forum i haven't breached any set rules with this post (i don't think i have but you never know!)
Kindest regards,
Drew
United Kingdom.

read my thread or signature.
I have loaded KIES and got some more information:
On the older SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i (unlocked to all networks) it says: PDA:LK3 / PHONE: LK1 / CSC: LK1 (BTU)
On the newer SAMSUNG GALAXY ACE GT-S5830i (locked and branded o2) it says: PDA:LK3 / PHONE: LK1 / CSC: LK1 (O2U)
So clearly i can see the difference here between the new phone with it's o2 network branded firmware, and assume that the only thing i need to change over on the new phone is the CSC part, which ODIN looks like it can do by simply adding a new CSC file in.
Anyway, i went to the SamMobile Firmware site and have downloaded:
GT-S5830i - United Kingdom - BTU
PDA: S5830IXXLK3
CSC: S5830IBTULK1
Version: 2.3.6
Date: 2012-11-23
...which gives me a zip file named: S5830IXXLK3_S5830IBTULK1_BTU.zip
Here's where i just got more confused lol... the thread you pointed me to gets a bit confusing as lots of people are posting allsorts on it, but am i right in thinking once i have that file i just downloaded i go into ODIN v3.07 and just add that file into the PDA section and then untick all the boxes? This seems a bit different to some of the other Odin instructions i have read where they say tick certain boexes and do this, do that etc...
This way seems to be involving reflashing the PDA, and PHONE sections maybe? Am i not just wanting to flash CSC parts? I am SO confused now.
Can anyone help clarify a little more? I can't quite see how you make a firmware backup using ODIN before proceeding to actual flashing. I'd like to make a backup first before i do anything

if you want only the UK one, search on sammobile.com, u might find it!
why do you want stock rom?
you could install firmwares of other countries but u "might" face network problems!
backup your imei via galaxy toolbox app if you do so!!
u could flash a custom rom!!
Hello., few months ago my phone stopped loading while charging. It keep getting stuck at samsung logo. Then i searched from internet and found this firmwares and installed on my phone but didnt work. I downloaded many firmwares and installed by Odin3. One of them had 4 files inside: 1. for Bootloader, 2) for PDA 3) for Phone, 4) for CSC. Then i installed them all but didn work.
But after sticking around forums for days I found out that my phone is Samsung Galaxy S III I9300T so its different than Samsung Galaxy S III I9300.
So i found this firmware SGS III I9300T and installed it. My phone is back on! but unfortunately I cant access wi-fi or use my simcard. It shows the wifi networks around but cant access, tried it to many wifi's. So I've been using my phone as a ipod (just for songs, video and pics ) since then.
Can someone help me please to find the all 4 files for SG S III I9300T version to fix my problem? or If the problem is not from that give me some suggestions please?
thank you experts!
andy
Go to samfirmware.com and choose "Check your firmware" Then choose GT-i9300T and your carrier.
It should then offer links to various firmwares.

thanks for the reply WinterFruity
I checked the website it shows:
Latest firmware info
GT-I9300T Galaxy S III
PDA: I9300TDUEMB1
CSC: I9300TTHLEMA1
Added: 2013-1-24
Download
but when i hit the download button nothing happens. It only shows PDA and CSC though.
I need all 4 files:
Bootloader
PDA
Phone
CSC
to fix my problem i think. Cuz i already have the correct firmware! and my phone is running!!!! Only problem is No Wi-Fi and not taking any sim cards. It says no Sim. I think I made this problem because of updating those 4 files with different version (like SGS3 i9300) before finding out my real version. Mine is I9300T
thanks.

Well this thread is actually the OP's first post so what do you expect?
You can use any stock I9300 rom on a I9300T or the way around, hence it should be not connected to that.

Hi guys, sorry to post another question but this forum has been very valuable for me in my job! thanks for that.
I currently have received a phone to fix, samsung galaxy III. GT-I9300, UK
I'm only familar with tablets really, this is the first time i have looked at a samsung phone!
I currently have the following
Phone booted into Download/Odin mode
Odin opened, Phone is detected! (needed a new cable but so far so good)
Can someone guide me to a link to the official stock firmware for this phone? i'm looking but there seems to be so many differerent types from different regions with different networks! 02/T-mobile etc, confusing :'(
I can't use anything custom as this is a business phone, thanks for any help!
I have absolutely no idea which to get!.
many thanks
Go to sammobile.com
Not sure who your network provide is but The link below is for Tmobile UK.
If that's not the one for you're model, just do a country search.
Downloading is very slow, might take an hour or two.
Sorry link removed.
Sign up on Sam mobile or try searching for latest official update for GT I9300 on Google with UK baseband
I am sure u can find all that u need
