Other than being rooted I am totally stock. But it wasn't showing even before root. I'm not running a launcher either. I like sense to much.

Yeah I know. I always have my battery saver on. I don't need all the processing power available and putting connections to sleep as soon as screen shuts off is just more logical.

This started with the update to Gingerbread on the Evo 4G. The power management settings were hidden from view unless you knew how to find them so I made an app that granted access to those settings on the Evo. I know that the Evo 3D has is listed in the settings menu, but there's no app drawer widget for it so I installed it on my 3D so I could easily access it from my homescreen. I'm just posting it here for those that might want to use it. It's a small app at 13kb and only sends out an intent for the power saving settings then finish() so it takes no memory outside opening those settings. Feel free to use anyway you want.

Let me know if you have any problems. I may change the icon to match the power settings one. The only difference is the bolt in the middle.

I'm thinking about to come back to an AOSP ROM but I need SmartStay features...can the new app ISeeYou be a good replacement on AOSP ROM? Anyone is using it (PRO version) on aosp? thanks
I know this might sound stupid but have you thought about just creating a widget to lock screen on instead, seems a much better use of battery resources imho, but then I have a real thing about all of Samsungs novelty apps,, so I am biased! Who can watch a video and do other things at the same time?! But hey, that's just me!

No no, I agree with you for the video features but during work it's very usefull for me to use smartstay features...Otherwise, I never thought about this solution, I'm thinking about of setting screen timeout on 5m and even creating a widget to lock screen, is it your way?

Yeah, I just use widgetsoid from the market, what it does is lock screen up to the max timeout, 1hr? So even if you forget to turn off I think it will turn off after 1 hour, and it works even in the dark, .......Samsung

I just installed this on my S3 running CM 10.
It does not work at all. It actually makes it so the screen never turns off.
I'm also using Widget Locker which also has a screen timeout function, and I've tried it with that disabled and enabled.
For reading long articles and playing WordsWith Friends, I would love to gain this feature back.
Any help or tips would be preferred.

Hmmm. Here's what I would try next, just for the hell of it: remove all of your icons from your dock and from your main home screen. Change your wallpaper to something else stock. Reboot. Put one normal, everyday (like the phone dialer or people, etc) icon/shortcut - not a widget - in your dock. Reboot. Check lockscreen. See your shortcut?
HTH!
Try going to personalize under settings and go to lock screen. There should be options for different lock screen options.

What did you install before this happened? You said you are stock, but are you rooted? Delete anything? This wouldn't just disappear without either clicking that setting off, or deleting something you shouldn't have.
I know you said stock... but did you install a different launch.. ie Nova, Apex... etc. and stop/freeze sense. When i did that i lost the lockscreen apps. Kinda sucks but sense needs to be running to have those, regardless of using it or not.... Good luck

Don't disable Sense. As far as enabling it to change the dock, just go into Nova settings and use the "Default launcher" button towards the bottom. Go to Sense, "Just Once" and set your dock. Hit the Home button and click Nova, "Always". Done.

Does anyone know if the One has the option to see a preview of an email message in the notification pull down menu? I just bought this phone today and have not been able to find this setting? I thought it was a standard Jelly Bean option, but I could be mistaken.

Do you mean like this? I just sent myself a message. and that's how it looks in my notification bar. I do know that if it's a single line like WiFi TetherMod is, you drag it down using 2 fingers. So You'd drag WiFi Tether Mod down using 2 fingers and it would expand. (If the notification is capable)
EDIT: BTW, I'm using the stock Gmail app that comes out the market.

Does it look like this normally? If so, try dragging it with 2 fingers. I'm on Renovate. I don't think a ROM can add this feature. This feature is a JellyBean feature. I've had this feature on my Epic 4G Touch (GS2), as well.
The notification itself, if you drag it down with 2 fingers, it should expand. And you'd have more options and viewability. Like in my previous post.
I've also upload 2 more screenshots showing you a before and after of Google Music. It's a single bar, but if you drag it with 2 fingers it expands.
EDIT: Also it is not an option your turn on and off. By dragging, I mean the actual notification itself.

As you say, it might be in the next version. Getting this stuff early is a big reason folks root and use a custom Rom. I usually do, but just haven't felt the need with the One. It is meeting my needs right out of the box.

Any link for that? I'm not sure it would work over a stock rom, non rooted, but it is worth a try...
I'm interested. Do you have expandable notifications? I mean can you expand other notifications? I've always thought this was just a JellyBean feature and not something that could be taken out and added, or something of the sort.
I discovered that I won't get notifications unless auto sync is turned on. However, even with that on, I can't preview the notification.
I turned it back off because it also lights off the LED, which uses battery, and there is no way to turn that off separately.
I'd really rather save the battery than have constant notification of gmail messages.
The reason its not working for most of you is the battery saver notification. It is listed as a high priority/ongoing notification and essentially kills the auto expand. Expandable notifications have been in Android since 4.1 not 4.2

I'm still bone stock, no root, no mods, and I can expand my notifications (if they're expandable.) I have the notification for Power Saver, and this works whether it's toggled on or off.
You have to press and drag with TWO FINGERS to expand them. Not just one.

Sorry, you didn't say anything about "top notification" for "auto expand," what you said (or how it read) was that having the power saver notification in the notifications area was what was stopping folks from being able to expand notifications (with a two-finger swipe wasn't said, but seemed to be implied.) And I didn't think we were talking about "auto expand," but about being able to make them expand if they could...
I just did it on my stock ROM using the two finger method on the notification. I still have my Power saver notification showing also. I wish it would allow me to delete instead of archive.
So this is my first HTC phone and for the most part I am loving it. However, there are two things that I hate. For starters, on a Phone such as the Galaxy s4 or the iPhone, I am able to view who sent me a text on the lockscreen or who sent me a text even when the phone is secured. Now on the HTC m8, I dont get to see any of that. All I see is the number of notifications above the phone app or the messaging app. Also, I hate the fact that if I go into the texting app to view a few messages but not all of them, it will then clear the icon in the notification panel as well as the indicator above the app icon itself. It really makes it super easy to forget if I had any extra text or not.
Check settings lock screen, the m7 had a lockscreen view that showed texts. Haven't got my m8 yet to see if it's still there.
