Well, after a week of trying to root and get twrp to stick, I finally did yesterday with odin 3.09. I even tried out a couple of roms. Unfortunately, I couldnt get text and phone and the airave to play nice together unless I was on stock. If I had the airave on, I didnt get texts. If I had the airave off, I didnt get signal. So, begrudgedly, I had to put it back to stock, for now.
Has anyone encountered this before, or similar?
Advice is a plus!
Thx,

Hey guys.
I have a Rogers X10(Canada) and I'm trying to go back to the latest stock firmware from Sony/Rogers because Cyanmogen has rendered my phone kaput with dropped calls, weird noises and a close friend of mine can't even call me anymore. Sometimes the calls will get through but then it's just this weird static and we can't hear each-other, other times it just says "Try again later. call cannot be completed". I considered it as maybe a SIM issue but even after purchasing a new one yesterday, still no dice. Along with horrible 3G and so forth.
So I did some research and tried to get it done, but SEUS keeps telling me that I have the latest version of the software and cannot repair/reinstall Sony's firmware. This is the only phone I have and I would very much appreciate some help in getting it back to stock in an hour and a half before I need to go to work :S It's Friday after all and I would like a phone tonight!

Thanks
Nevermind! I got it!
I am running the newest version of viper 4g, 2.02 on my LTE. We had an upgrade so I thought I would try out the galaxy S3, dont ask me why. I was going to give my daughter the LTE. They put the new phone on my phone number and when they tried to put my daughters number on the LTE they never could get it to work. After making several attempts at puting my daughters number on the LTE without any success they said the problem was the phone was rooted and they gave me the phone back.
Do I need to go back to stock to solve this problem? Any help or ideas I would be very grateful.
Thanks.
Factory reset should work. It isn't because your phone is rooted. That changes nothing. Try a stock rom and/or a factory reset.
A factory reset won't help, but you may have to load a stock style rom. Viper is a probably too customized for the Sprint rep to figure out. Being rooted has nothing to do with it.

They did a factory reset in the store and that didnt help. I will install a different ROM and see if they can get it going from there. Thanks.
Anyone know which ROM is closest to stock?
Yeah, just flash the stock odexed rom and you will be able to activate it.
http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...Stock-Rooted-Based-on-Latest-OTA-(Odexed-Only)
Flashed that ROM and took back to sprint and it activated perfectly. They had me worried for a minute yesterday, that had never happened to me before and I have been flashing roms for years. Mostly windows mobile stuff though, glad android is no different. Thanks for the replys.
stay home
Next time call Sprint, they can do the activation on the phone if you ave the ESN number. Gas is expensive
Or swap from the website, they don't charge activation fees for their sweet swap feature.
Alright, here I go.
Yes, I searched the forum, and I can't wrap my head around this at all, so I'm just going to throw my specs out and hope for the best.
- T-mobile Samsung Vibrant Galaxy S T-959
- NOT unlocked...although I'm not sure, the phone seems to try and pick up AT&T but it's labeled as a Tmobile phone
- Using a Tmobile SIM (brand new replacement, works on other phones just fine)
- Rooted and Flashed to Hellybean Stable 15.11.12
- Generic IMEI (004999010640000)
Whenever I rebooted the phone after root/flash a week and a half ago, it would give me the IMEI mismatch warning but everything worked fine. It was only this afternoon that I jumped on the bus, took out my phone, and suddenly could not connect to any mobile network at all. I've restarted and cried and sat in a corner and now I don't know. It connects to Wifi just fine and that's how I've been getting by, but it'd be nice to text/sms again...
I kept running into this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30644270&postcount=116
But it makes no sense to me. Copy it to what folder? Where is /efs? I only have one /efs folder and it's in /sdcard/backup.
Before I return to stock and try to flash all over again, I want to try and fix this.
The same thing happened to me today!
I don't know what is going on. I flashed another modem but the problem is not solved.
I'll try Odin back to stock but it is not seeing my phone. That's another problem anyway.
I'll let you know if I get it to work.
Ok, it works now, but I still don't know if it was the generic IMEI or something else.
I went back to stock and it automatically connected so I could make calls and use internet. This also restored my IMEI
Then I rooted and installed CM7 and then Slim Bean and now everything works as usual with my restored IMEI.
Here you have all you need for Odin: http://www.team-passion.com/index.php/wiki/general/15-how-to-use-odin-for-vibrant

Ahh shucks. Don't want to hijack your thread, but now my Vibrant is having connection problems too :crying:
It all happened when I let a friend borrow my phone to use his SIM card. It was a simple mobile SIM card and a day later when I tried to make a call, I got a "not registered on network" when I tried to make a call.
I was running bionix-v fishman so I odined back to stock to make sure it wasnt a ROM issue, and still have the same problems.
I still have a IMEI working and I can still get bars, but cant make any calls whatsoever. Not even emergency calls.
So back to my very old Motorola Backflip. But I can't seem to wonder how this happened when my friend used his sim card. So I know the problem is not my SIM card because it works on my older phone.
I'm still using the very old full SIM-card that is at least 2-years old and not the newer ones. Because my friend's SIM was brand new, you think that may have to do its the problem?
Any help appreciated. Heres a similar thread to my problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=890353
Okay, this went from bad to worse to a nightmare.
My friend tried the Odin then back to Hellybean for me, and nothing changed at all.
So I went into recovery mode and tried to restore from an old system restore point.
After loading that my phone was permanently stuck on the Vibrant SAMSUNG screen.
I hunted around and found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=15330252
After a few tries I managed to get it into download mode and tried it, nothing changed.
Except now that I've moved on and tried to use Odin to just unroot it won't even go into recovery or download mode, it gets stuck on this screen:

or just the Vibrant start screen.
helpppp

OK I'm going to use ur thread. I rooted my sgs1 seven hours after I got it. When it was a new phone. Have been running all kinds of roms. Somewhere along the line I lost my backup. But it was never really a problem. My imei is generic and couldn't make 911 calls but no worries there. I was running 4.2.2 something something using my phone. Then my battery was running low so I switched it with another and when it booted up no signal from that point on. I put my sim in my old g1 and it works. Put my wife's sim in my phone and a no go. Everything works wifi Bluetooth usb .....except won't connect to t mobile. I Odin back to stock and no luck. Imei still generic. Called tmobile no help at all. Funny thing is though it won't let me connect it shows I have a voicemail so its sending a signal and receiving one. I think if I had a way to put a new imei on it I would be OK. Another funny thing is my imei is the same number as the one posted above. So thinking it got picked up and blocked and that's why i m not getting service. I love this phone and would like to fix it if I can.does anyone have any ideas.

So I was rooted running beans build 22, woke up in the morning, shut off my alarm then my phone shut off and would not turn back on. After some messing around with battery, SIM, and sd pulls, finally got it to boot. After it booted I could not make calls or send txts, but i did receive a few. I tried for hours to figure out the issue and eventually got a new SIM from verizon....still nothing. I just used ODIN to go back to as stock as i know how to, and am now stock unrooted and cant make or receive calls or txts at all anymore. Im at the end of my ropes trying to figure out what is wrong with it. Does anyone have any thoughts?
Would flashing a new radio help? Would flashing a new modem help?

I'm thinking something has happened to your antennae. but the fact that you are receiving is weird. Odin back to stock and order a new phone.
I have already used odin to go back to stock, and nothing changed, I can still get 4g data but it looks like ONLY 4g. Nothing works call or text wise, just data. Im not really sure if sending the phone back for replacement is an option at this point.
UPDATE**
This thread probably needs to be updated as I managed to reverse what issues I had....I was in the hidden service menu and somewhere I found a setting to restore a backup NV. The phone rebooted and I now have 1x signal and can call/text and receive calls/texts. What I don't have is data of any kind, and under about phone it says network unknown.
Any ideas?
Ok so a little background on whats going on.My phone is a SCH-R530X.. (Note the X. Its the generic version) CDMA on MobileNation... I was in the Service Mode on my galaxy and layed it down on the table. My son picks it up and starts pushing things on it. When I got back I had no service what so ever. It wouldn't connect to a tower at all. After going through the service menu tring to figure out what he changed with no luck, I flashed using Kies. No luck with that. I did some research on it and tried a few things. Finely after failed attempts, I ran across the ##786# that is a return feature that basically dumped some things and restored it to factory. After doing that I finely got service back but no internet or 3g icon that is usually there.. I have tried restoring it, doing *228 activation with no luck. Something got messed up and will not let my internet... I'm good when it comes to doing things like codes settings and flashing so i know how to do that. I just dont know at this point what to do and im asking for help here in hopes to get it back to normal. I also forgot to mention that i took it to the phone company and the 2 people i talk to there didn't know nothing when it come to it. The first time i took it up there it was not working at all and he said he tried everything and that hes sure it was service bricked. Then after i did the ##786# thing i took it back to him to see if they could get the internet going. He was like, I wish i knew what you did to fix that part of the service cause i tried everything and bla bla...... The only thing they know how to do is activate them and dont know crap when it comes to troubleshooting.... Anyway please help.....
There use to be firmware here for it but i see its gone from this site. If i could try maybe reflashing as much as i could i would but i cant find the right firmware for the phone.
