Guys be very careful of the Micro SD cards you buy off of eBay and Craigslist. I can confidently say that more than half of them are probably fake. I recently bought one off of eBay for a 40 bucks and it was a 64 gb Micro Sd Card. I put it in my phone and noticed that it kept unmounting on me and had atrociously slow data transfer/read rates. Also pictures would not save onto it and the ones that did save would not open after. Upon further inspection and thanks to this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXuxOnHgs0c , I found that the one I bought on eBay was fake and demanded a return right away. So just watch out. You can also use this program to detect counterfeit or real by testing the specs of the storage unit you bought: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/H2testw.shtml
You're better off buying them locally or from reputable online shops.
If you have a MicroCenter close to you, they usually have good prices on flash memory. Only downside is they only go up to 32GB class 10 micro SD cards as of my last visit a couple weeks ago.
craigslist???
i would never
I think that goes without saying. Some things you should just buy from a shop ...... real shop
These things aren't expensive, I don't know why you'd buy them second hand after spending the money on a new flagship phone. I've always bought Sandisk cards from actual camera shops like B&H and Adorama and have never had a problem.
When I'm shopping online I only trust one site for my electronic needs and that's Amazon. And when I'm shopping on Amazon I don't buy from any seller in China. I stick with Amazon fulfillment(aka Prime, ships directly from amazon warehouse) or a trusted seller
If your going to spend $40 just go to Amazon or Best Buy. Actually Amazon has a sale on SD cards. Save yourself like $20

If you're going to buy anything online electronics based stick with reputable retailers. Amazon is great, newegg and microcenter are good as well. Ebay, craigslist, etc can be such a gamble when it comes to electronics it's really not worth it, if it looks too good to be true it usually is.
Best Buy will pricematch Amazon prices if you don't mind paying tax. But stick to reputable stores.
Newegg or Micro Center if there's one near you
We have Best Buy and Frys here in Houston, for accessories I'll go try them at Best Buy and then buy it off Amazon or newegg. Frys, while it's great for electronics and computer parts, has a horrible selection of phone accessories. There's one micro center here but it's way too far from my side of town.

I got burned once before
I bought a 32Gb from ebay auction for $11. It had similar problems. Would save files to it, but kept umounting and would dump all the files on it to lost.dir. They all had broken file extensions and the filenames were garbled. I since just play it safe and stick to sandisk sd cards from amazon.
ebay sd cards
yes same thing to me, a lot of problems and it died after a month or so. Dont go for cheap sd cards on ebay
The Extreme cards are mega expensive, but from time to time my local BB has incredible sales on them. Watch the site. I actually check every couple of days for the sales as I tend to buy things I might not need now, but will appreciate someday, lol.

Hello!
I want to buy a SanDisk Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC 16GB SDSDQY-016G-E11M (Class 4) and I've been searching the web on EUROPE where I can buy it, since in my country I can't buy it!
Can you point a good online store with a good price???
Thanks
found this one on ebay but don't know if taking the shot:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SANDISK-MOBIL...emQQimsxZ20090610?IMSfp=TL0906101410004r17635
did anyone buy on ebay this item? I don't usually buy memory on ebay (fake ones...)
I bought a Sandisk Micro SDHC 8GB Class 2 card from ebay last week. Works fine.
can you link me to the buyer?
thanks

I have bought from here many times and they ship anywhere ....

thanks for the tip!
unfortunatly I don't find a micro sd 16GB from sandisk available...
If so, can you throw out some names for me? Thank you!
I can only assume you're in the US, cause otherwise I dont know of any international chain stores except walmart, and they suck. I know for a fact that Target carries Class 6 4gb and 8gb micro SD cards. I bought three 8gb C6 cards at the target near my home. However, you need to check with the individual store first. As I said, the one closest to my home (it's a SuperTarget if that helps) carries them, the Target (regular store) 4 miles further away doesnt.
One last thing though: if you can order online, do so. The cards at the stores are vastly more expensive than the same cards after shipping on places like newegg.

If you can find one that is still open, all the ones around me are gone.
Microcenter. Their bulk packaging cards are class 6. 8gb under $15.
Fry's (Bay Area chain) often has Class 6 SDs.

They were a good store. Now it is either order online or go to bestbuy in my area. I will not go to best buy.
I would NEVER purchase an sdcard from a retail store.
If you look hard enough you can get a good sdcard and have it shipped priority next day air and it would still cost a lot less then the price you would pay at a store.
Take this for an example.
Here you see a chain store sdcard.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9054337&type=product&id=1218012520281
Simply put, at Bestbuy a class 2 sdcard is $100.
On Amazon the exact same card is only $42.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
Hell... and if you don't mind the name brand you can find a class 6 on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/DATA-MicroSDH...TF8&s=electronics&qid=1256595835&sr=1-2-spell
] for $60.
No further argument.
CompUSA
CompUSA name was purchased by Systemax (TigerDirect) They bought 16 of the old CompUSA stores and setup a brick and morter version of TigerDirect. Same great pricing and selection of TigerDirect. We have two here in TampaBay area. They seem to be doing well. I just bought an 8GB class 6 on sale there for $14.99.
Yeah I found mine a Target as well. I was to impatient to wait for shipping lol. I think it was $25 bucks for a 4gb class 6.

I actually grabbed mine from Walmart. $14 for a 4gb PNY class 6 with case and adapter.
Went shopping yesterday.. A few places had 16gb cards for 16$ here in Canada, picked up 32gb card for 28$ from Staples.
Figured that I'd share....

Dude so what who cares it's just a thread
Thats a decent deal. For microSD cards, if you pay $1 or less PER GB, thats considered a deal.

Not sure the rules on links.. but the card in question is here.
It's a Class 4 SDHC ... read 15 MB/second.. write is slower. Doesn't identify how much. Shown as "$50 off" and on sale til May 15.

I picked up a 64gb micro on ebay. Consistent 7+ writes, 20+ reads. 59.46gb useable. It is a class 6. Sandisk Mobile Ultra brand. Ships from Hong Kong so takes about a month to arrive, but no customs charge and best price anywhere.
A month??? Wow!

A 64gb microsdhc card on eBay for ~$60 shipped from Hong Kong...... not sure if you are aware of this but the majority of these "too good to be true" deals on eBay for microsdhc cards from Asia are fake.
Don't be surprised if it is a counterfeit when you get it. I do not recommend anyone buy microsdhc cards from eBay. There are a lot of fakes out there and most importantly manufacturers will not honor your warranty if something were to go wrong with the card.
Be smart people, spend the extra money and buy from a reputable vendor like newegg, Amazon, bestbuy, staples, etc. You will thank yourself later.

All that.. plus there is no way I could sit back and wait for a full month for this card. I was plugging along with just a 4 GB card and really needed the 32 at LEAST. I figured this was a good trade off .. cash vs. patience.. LOL

The worst part is all that waiting for a counterfeit card. I just wish people used a little more common sense.

I would advise caution, and use a reputable ebay seller. Mine deserved his 5 stars review from me. I watched 50+gigs of video files get copied and show up and play, so I know I wasn't scammed. It is a genuine red-and-gray Sandisk.
But I won't speak for anyone else's lack of pre-research.
$65 bucks for a 64gb card is outstanding... and lucky for me, I am patient; years of cool and cheap goodies from dealextreme.com under my belt in preparation.
Example: picked up an outstanding leather case for my Note with the drawstrap built in, cost all of $2.60 and shipped for free. Those guys don't seem to care about losing money shipping small items from Hong Kong free.
(no, I did not buy the card from dx.com)
I agree, know what kind of seller they are before making the purchase. eBay isnt all that bad, ive bought hundreds of stuff on there and never got scammed. *knocks on wood*. Also, if you use paypal, you can always dispute an item.

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you all know about a good deal i came across.
Right now, Best Buy has the Axon 7 on sale for $349, PLUS you get a $50 gift card. This applies to both the grey and gold colors.
I'm getting the mini gold for $200 for my wife today from BB.
Haha yeah! I had just gotten this the over the weekend: ordered online and picked it up from the store. The gift card came in the mail yesterday.
Worth noting that If you're a student you get a travel adapter free as well!

Got my Axon 7 (not mini) for $227 new at Amazon. The trick was to purchase it to another seller inside Amazon to save tax, and get both credit cards, Amazon Store card (-$50) and Chase Amazon Card (-$70).
You can only get those cards once so that is all the discount you can get from Amazon in the future if you follow this way.

Dayum, that's cheap! Unfortunately since I'm here on a student visa and have no credit history (yet), I couldn't do cards. This would be the way to go once I get my SSN and stuff.
I need to get a bigger card and looking at Amazon there are a ton of them. They now have all different types, so I am wanting to know which would be best for downloading HD videos from Netflix. I have the M5-10.8 model and a 64gb would be all I would need.
The best kind is the genuine kind. You would be surprised how many counterfeit SD cards - with fake specs - are sold online. Even sellers get duped into thinking they are selling the real thing. Hence, SD cards should only be purchased from a reputable big box retailer - if you are purchasing on Amazon, you should make sure you buy one that is sold directly by Amazon, and not a random Amazon seller.
Otherwise, just check specs and reviews. I imagine that any SD card from a reputable brand should do just fine.
