S2W Kernel!
S2W mod of InifintyKernel!
Finally, S2W for our device!
This kernel includes the following features:
All features of InfinityKernel #6
Dedicated control app!
Sweep2Wake
Sweep2Lock
Hold2Wake
DoubleTap2Wake
Pocket mode!
And all stable! hopefully
Pocket Mode
Uses the proximity sensor to detect whether the device is probably in the user's pocket and disables all s2w features in order to prevent accidental wakes.
S2W Controls App
Let's you change which method you use to wake and other settings on the fly! It also applies your settings at boot, no more need for init.d scripts!
Sweep2Lock
Prevent accidental soft key presses by sweeping right to left while the screen is on, locking the soft keys. To unlock, just swipe again.

This is awesome, great work CurtisMJ! Sadly, I moved on to CM already, so I won't test this one. But if you do enable these features in CM kernel (source is in Devlopement thread in General section), it would be great!
Someone post a flashable zip pls
Thanks.! :good:Now i am gonna definitely switch to Sense 5
Awesome, but can you add options like governors, i/o managers and etc in you app ?
I now do CM for our phone. You not against if I use your source codes of a kernel.
P.S Already it turned out to collect the stable version with a kernel 3.4, there is a problem with the camera and a bluetooth.
I think a problem with (camera) drivers just in a kernel, you couldn't look at the logs. I while haven't enough experience in programming.

That's not the purpose of the app, it's for s2w related controls only, not general kernel features, use a dedicated app for that.

I don't mind you using my code, as long as the proper credit is given for my work and for others. I would rather wait until the kernel is fully stable(all drivers included) before trying to add extra features though. (If no-one's ported my code before it's stable I'll port it myself)
Tested the zip and i can confirm that it works.
I'll use it for some time to see how it works. Good work.
It would be awesome to implement an option to lock the screen with a double tap, like the wake option. But one option at the time.
Once more,good work.
For me its working only wake future. Can't lock screen with sweep :/

It does actually have the ability to sleep when swiped, but only if Sweep2Lock(does not lock the screen, maybe it should be renamed) is not active, left to right still won't work. (Here I need some feedback, would you you guys want that to happen?)

All the features could be enabled for sleep, but hold and double tap are functions of android that could be masked(some apps need double tap to exit). Maybe a blacklist system or only on home could work. Thanks for testing the zip!

I flashed your kernel over mysense dx RC4 with nexus prime's kernel.

No. I don't have S-off. So I guess the system is write protected.
Do I really need S-off or there is another way?

What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you’d ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they’re “baked in” by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

Hey! I'm testing your ROMs form HTC One X+ International edition and im found some significant errors. First is camera recording (without sound recoring) hearing only slight squeal, quality is good but weaker than the original HTC firmware. Second is Menu translations and Power Off Menu.
Can you fix it?
Cheers

Camera recording start with a bit of delay, because last changes to kernel and Audio drivers from Sense5. For the moment audio rec is a little "moanish"... will be fixed (but if nobody post his impressions and bugs in the thread... developers will haven't a follow).
The menu translations aren't perfect because were translated from all us a little at time. Please be patience if some string isn't yet translated into your local language. At least will be English. Otherwise look for strings.xml into the repo projects, and collaborate.
Thanks.
I installed this Rom yesterday and till now everything works smooth, but i have one question Google play music dies not find my Music files. Before i was on arhd 8 and the stock player found them

OP Updated with new build 2013_11_12.
Updated ramdisk, needs flash kernel into rom.
Added in remap buttons, possibility to put device in sleep.
Is it normal I can't set a wallpaper for the lockscreen? When i select a lockscreen background and crop it it doesn't seem to save (but it's the only "problem" I've had so far , great job!)
i set the Button backlight brightness to 10 but after i come back from display off to on, the light are back to 100% it doeas not save.

I can turn on and off correctly the BT toggle. Use the BT cardio sensor and the BT headphone correctly during standby too.
Note. I'm using the enrc2b ramdisk from experimental branch of AOSP+ repo (adding S2W and 2TW), I feel more performant.
Is it possible that those on enrc2b CM repo has vary chown duplicate? Thanks @Lloir.

that ramdisk was my best creation on the A+ repo
you need to run Wake Lock Detector with bluetooth on/off
as it's apparantly causing battery drain. i need to figure if it's just CM or ALL rom's

Cyanogenmod 10 for Samsung Galaxy S Advance
Before starting anything keep in mind that CM10 is obsolete now, we have stable CM11. If you want a stable & bugfree ROM then go for CM11 instead. I'm still newbie here. I started to work on CM10 because it was the only thing i left to learn in Android Development(actually nothing else was left buggy by TeamCanjica . so it was best to start learning from CM10). During these all experiments & improvements i feel like it is stable for daily use so would like to share it. I'll keep doing those experiments (i don't want new features, i only want lagfree & bugfree ROM )
Working:
Telephony
GPS
OMX
Camera/Camcorder (no glitch in panorama)
Bluetooth
WiFi/WiFi Direct
Wireless Tethering
Tripple Buffering (no tearing)
MTP/ADB
Everything except not working
Not Working/Bugs:
Accelerator sensor
Compass is buggy
Some Weird colors in videos on HW Decoder (disable HW overlays in developer options)
Low incall volume (press vol- & then vol+)
Installation:
Download latest build & put it on sdcard
Download latest gapps from http://goo.im/gapps
Wipe Data/ Factory reset from CWM
Install downloaded zip & gapps
Reboot

Wysłane z RessurectionRemixowego-fonika 4.4.4
I really was waiting for this. Thanx for your hard work buddy. I hope you will make it more faster and battery efficient like you did great work on harshjelly.
EDIT: Yea! Our phone still Lacks SMOOTHNESS!!! that's caused by 'screen stuttering and little glitches' @cocafe is working on GPU OC that MAY increase smoothness. But still I think our GPU at default clock speed is strong enough to provide better smoothness like other phones have. So this ground is still left if you wanna try. Well goodluck.

Which repo init did you use? I tried a time ago but fails.
I really recommend it! I've been testing it for more than a whole day and everything was great. There are only some minor ui glitches left, much less than in any other custom roms. It's really smooth, stable and quite good in battery life(if not best from other custom roms) IMO!
Try it for urselves !
Once again, great job bro  : )

If you have time then you can work on OmniRom or MIUI rom, both of these roms are quite different compared to others roms.

Yeah, those changes are already merged (i think that's why CM10 from TC also suffers from this bug). As disabling HW overlays solves this i think newly allocated buffer is not converted to proper pixel format.

I'm here with a simple but fast kernel for AOSP 4.4.2.
Download with this link you get always the latest image.
KING's Kernel Manager: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747094 to get OTA updates
Features:
Vibration intensity tweakable
- Allows to change vibration intensity
To change value:
Code:
echo x > /sys/vibrator/pwm_value
Change x with a number between 0 and 60. 0 is the strongest, 60 is the weakest.
Dynamic management of dirty page writeback
- Based on a Christopher83 commit.
- Allows to dynamically manage the dirty page writebacks with two different intervals, one when the screen is on and another when the screen is off.
- By using a higher interval we have better performance and less battery consumption, with a very low risk of data loss.
To enable it:
Code:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/dynamic_dirty_writeback
To disable it:
Code:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/dynamic_dirty_writeback
To customize intervals (in centisecs):
Code:
echo xxxx > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_active_centisecs
echo xxxx > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_suspend_centisecs
default for active: 1500
default for suspend: 500
tested values: 3000 - 1000 , 6000 - 2000
Disabled Gentle Fair Sleepers
- Gives better performance
AIO: Don't plug the I/O queue in do_io_submit()
- 30/35% faster sd card reading
-O3 build optimization
- Gives better performance
Dynamically disable mutex spinning at high load
- Thanks to faux123

Do people even read the OP anymore? There's even a post explaining that it's only for AOSP!
For now. That's the keyword, when it gets compatible with anything other than AOSP 4.4, then it'll be noted in the OP.
God!
On another note, nice! I'll be giving this a try later in the day.
Please system/lib/modules from AOSP 4.4 ? I give "thanks"

Got it automatically with your app, everything went dell but to be honnest I don't know what to check to give you a usefull feedback. It works very well on latest aosp that's all I can tell.
Do you have a roadmap btw ?
Hi! Good kernel i see some improvements (better battery life on a 2 year old battery), but sometimes phone restarts without reason 3-4 times a day.

If by roadmap you mean "to do", yes. I'm trying to get a faster bootup and to improve performance.

I don't get any reboot, I'm sorry
I'm flashing RC2 now.
About RC1 it's really good, I like it, phone is fast and smooth. There are some minor ui glitches but I don't know if it's kernel related or rom related. No reboots so far.
How did you mange to flash this with ukf? It says system not supported....

Seems good so far, had a reboot after i set my alarm last night.
Bring back logs please
Fantastic ROM: I'm a huge fan of your work. I'd just like to point out a few things:
1) After installing ROM, I immediately received OTA notification: new version available. Please update the link in OP!
2) Sweep to sleep is NOT working (didn't try last update yet)
3) Dark UI is a little messy: IMHO, it's not really clear when the buttons are activated / deactivated (no biggie, switched to light UI).
4) Can I dirty flash last update?
Thanks for your freaking amazing job: I was coming from Dirty Unicorns, which is pretty amazing, but this ROM blew my mind!
Ok, so after updating the ROM to the latest version:
A) Dirty flash is possible (I didn't get a single FC yet)
B) Confirmed that Sweep2Sleep is not working
C) Impossible to chance CPU frequencies with Kernel Adiutor (I was trying to set the minimum to 300 MHz but it goes back the the default value)
Other than that, smooth as butter!
It's a shame that nobody is posting comments on this amazing ROM.
Just for the sake of curiosity, I tried fo flash the last version of Elemental X Kernel: waking up / sleeping gestures are working, CPU frequencies can be changed, everything works just incredibly well: I have found my new daily driver.
Please @AxxPyrtlexx20 keep up this fantastic work!

None of us support xposed, use it if you want; but don't even think to report bugs with xposed installed.
For the rest...just use multirom and figure out yourself?
This is free and we working to bring these builds up, if u were at mc donald's ordering a big mac and willing to know whats inside, ok ; but we're not there...
Cheers

Why the hostility?
I didnt ask if this rom support xposed, I asked if it works.
And I have a 2nd rom for backup in my n5 so installing a 3rd is not an option without deleting some stuff. That's why I asked about those features.
Anyways, have fun with your rom.

Good news, thanks for that.
Check this post for how to check DRM status: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52990972&postcount=3
Widevine and CKB are OK, there is nothing more on my phone.
So may I assume that your DRM fix is working?

Yes, that sounds like it's working just fine
After few hour of testing and normal phone usage I can report that there is no issues at all
I hope it will stay that way
Looks intresting. What features are you planning to add next?

I remember looking into this before when working the x compact and decided it doesn't work like that. I can't recall the exact reason.
Would it be possible to include OC/UC control as well as .kcal support?
Thanks!

I'm a little nervous about adding OC support to the X compact and X. On the X compact, the phone already overheats when under heavy load. That doesn't make a good case for overclocking on these devices for very little gain in real world performance.
I'll look into adding KCAL support.
Has anyone played with undervoltage? I have very little experience with the SD650 running under a custom kernel.
KCAL would be nice.
OC? I don't think so, X gets pretty hot when used as a video call device or while heavy gaming.
It would be better to add UC or give us a chance to modify some voltages for better battery life and less heat.
After all there is no error on my phone, Magisk work perfect, more advanced functions are working perfectly fine with your kernel.
Some undervoltage recommended?
On another phones like Nexus 5 with ElementalX Kernel , SoC works fine using 750mah with [email protected],4/2,5Ghz (Yeah, Overheating is there), and [email protected],1/1,6GHz and 730mah...
Curiously, with their Kernel App UI, you could make another type of Undervolting or force the SoC to other low frequencies... And when you try to install Higher Frequencies installing the kernel, the phone is locked later on Splashlogo/Bootlogo (For Voltage fault, I guess).
I think that you could some similar Kernel for this... And if you think put OC option remember the Overheat and some method for a cooler
- Send from my Oven Xperia X (Bye paint, hallo Aluminium back cover :3).

One of the features I have added for the next release is undervolting - see here.
I'm updating the list as I go.

can you include this 2 commit to your build? For full SuperUserMod.
Any ETA for new version of your kernel?
After one week of testing I can tell one thing - everything is rock stable
