Hi all, After upgrade to the Resurrection Remix Kitkat Rom v5.0.9, I found that some apps like Dolphin browser, Camera 360 can't set the download path to the external SD card , but K9 mail can be changed to ext. memory card just like previous JB. Can someone confirm that?
And one more question, I copied some of my favorite ring tones, notification sound to the proper folders under /system/media/audio/. But why they are always displayed twice in the phone ring tone / default notification sound selection panels? And how to get rid of them? Thanks a lot.

hi,
can anyone guide me as to how can i permanently store custom ringtones on root/system partition? if i store custom ringtones on internal or external sd, profiles are messed up every time i connect my phone in mass storage mode.
thanks in advance.
Droid Explorer should let you easily do what you need to do

The Path seems to be root/system/media/audio/ringtones/
not sure if that's for all, or just with CM Nightly
I have recently upgraded my phone to jelly bean version 4.1.2 - cynagogenmod 10.
The phone is working really great with minor bugs that can be overlooked.
I have only one big issue that keeps on coming up all the time: when i use my camera i get an error message on the bottom and i cant take any photos at all. the message error is "Your SD card is running out of space. Change the quality setting or delete some images or other files".
My internal Sd card is almost full bat has some room left, But! i have an External SD card with a capacity of 16GB! 4GB of it is free to use!
Can i Change the settings in jelly bean to make the photos save in the external sd card? and also i want to change the phone settings to keep all my downloads to the external sd card!
How Do I Do That?!

You can do this by changing browser settings.

Thanks For the help with the camera!
I'm using Chrome web browser and it doesn't say anything about downloads settings. when i'm downloading something it automatically refers it to the "Downloads" app by Google and saves it on the internal Sd card. is there any way yo bypass it?
I'm also using Chrome and can't find this setting, probably in Chrome it's not possible (or we should look in xml files)
You can change download location in Dolphin Browser, by editing xml file in /data/data/mobi.mgeek.tunnybrowser/.../...preferences.xml > there will be line with download location. (I don't remember exactly). You should find it.
Can anyone please tell me where to copy Alarms, Ringtones and Notification tones on the GS4 Internal memory?
On my GS3 I always put them on the Internal memory under "media\audio" with subfolders for "ringtones", "alarms", and "notifications". After a reboot the phone detected them fine.
But of course, when I copy them to the same location on the GS4 the phone does not see them, even after a reboot.
I used to just leave them on the sdcard, but I won't do that anymore because if you remove the sdcard at some point, all your custom set tones get reverted back to defaults.

What type of file do you use? And what ROM?
Cause I do exactly what you did - and have everything working.
I finally got it working.
I deleted the files and copied them again and restarted the phone a few times, and they showed up.
Annoying that it didn't just work the first time, even though I did the identical procedure!
First off I have a droid bionic running Cyanogenmod 10.1.x, which is the ICS version of Android. Since switching to this phone and installing from scratch three versions of Cyanogenmod 10.1.1, 10.1.2, and 10.1.3, I have had a problem with my custom ringtones disappearing when the SDCard is mounted as USB or on a phone reboot. Originally I had them on the external SD card in Media/Audio/Ringtones and Notifications. Then I moved them on the the Internal SD card, then I moved them into a folder on the root SDCard\Ringtones and Notifications, both on the internal and external SD Card. I even tried to copy the ringtones to the System\Media\Audio\Ringtones and Notifications but every time I reboot the phone the files disappear so apparently there is a step or two I don't understand in order to copy files onto the phone itself.
I have searched around in vain as I have not seen any solution to this problem, but have seen many users from many different phone carries and manufacturers having this problem. Again my problem specifically is that custom ringtones get replaced with unknown or in some cases a random number. When I get a phone call, text, or other notification they just remain silent as the ringtone 71999 or some other random number does not exist. Anybody know what causes this and how to fix/prevent it from happening in the future? The problem is pretty annoying.
Thanks
Ryan
I'm running CM12 and cannot get my ringtones to work. They are mp3s that while in the sound settings I have a ringtone set, but it doesn't play. A generic "Ding" plays instead. I've moved the files (in a Ringtones folder) from my sd card, to the "internal" sd, and into System/media... I have also converted the mp3s to ogg and did the same. Nothing works.
Is this just a CM12 bug?
I have the same problem!
From everything I have read about CM12 and Lollipop in general, this is a bug. What I find funny is that my "Droid" notification for texts works fine (I pointed it to my notifications folder on my SD card and it's an mp3).
